No it was never used and i didnt ask it it worked. It just reads the batt.at 4.1 v which since it'd just taken the batt. Out of the charger. But it reads the atomizer at 1.3 ohms even without the atomizer. And it wont fire the coils.
If it's a 2.5 or older it's possible you're exceeding it's built in amp limit, which I think is 2.5 amps. Try dropping the voltage to 3.2 or lower and see if that helps. Good luck!

You'll have to dig a little bit, but most of the larger battery stores have button top 18650s from good manufacturers. The button tops are identical internally to the flat tops - it's just the positive terminal that changes. If you see a particular flat top on Mooch's list, the button top will perform exactly the same.

Some examples:

18650 Samsung 3000mAh INR18650-30Q High Discharge Button Top

I noticed that last night after some digging. Looks like a third party adds the button tops on the major manufacturer cells.

I think I found a manual on the Provari 2.5. One thing that is not clear, what is the lowest ohm setting and the amp cutoff? It seems that as the ohms go down the available voltage range goes down until a certain amp limit is reached.

From what I read, it looks like 1.2 ohm is the ideal resistance. I have a Kayfun Lite 21, I think I'll have to dig out the kanthal, lol. I can't imagine fitting enough wraps with my regular 28 gauge SS. The mass alone would probably make for a really long ramp up time.

I think the restrictions for the 2.5 are: The 2.5 has a 3.5Amp limit and a 15 watt limit imposed by the chip set. So depending on the Ω's of your coil you can't exceed either of those limits when dialing in the voltage setting.

At 1.2 you'd max out at 4.0v or 4.1v, but the latter is on the edge. Sometimes it will fire if just under the 3.5 limit, but more often than not, 4.1v will be too high to rely on consistently.
