Just received my Protege today. Gotta say I'm immensely impressed. Not surprising, given my happy experiences with my Prodigy over the past couple months. Good show, Cash!

As a 5th generation Tennesseean I wanted to do business with a LOCAL Company, guess it is NOT gonna happen!

Materials have been switch (Aluminum to now Stainless Steel) Button redesign (3 piece same as the Protege) and it now comes with an atomizer. I wasn't even keen on continuing to make them, but demand has been high for them, thus the reason we decided to stick it out and see how well they sold. If they do well, well go ahead and schedule another 1,000 or so to run, thus dropping the price back down.
We have also been working on an add-on to the Protege to turn it in to a USB PT. Should know more on this in the upcoming weeks. Seeing as you are not buying an entire separate device (PT) and just adding on to an existing, costs should come down significantly ....

I am on my 3rd Chinese 510 PT plus one each 801 and 901. I JUST want a passthru that doesn't go bad where the freaking cord goes into the pass thru body (failure point on all 4 that have gone bad). I don't need stainless steel. Maybe someone has a used PT they don't need anymore, but $70 dollars is too damn much for a PT. If you wanted out of the PT business you may have just done it.

. Our carries a warranty and is eclipped, so they don't pull out. Not to mention, ours runs roughly .4/.5v hotter than your standard Chinese PT.I can't compete with China bud, but hopefully, our product speaks for itself. The aluminum version was nice, however, people were having to many cross threading issues. I wish you the best of luck with your own PT's bud.

Was willing and even eager to pay $40.00. If I weren't disabled from Arthritis in my hands would make my own, I used to be a Gunsmith, soldering isn't hard the rest would be dead easy. Tried to buy one but they sold out in minutes and NO BACK ORDER. I am just .....ing about $70 and a 3 month warranty. I paid $12 for last 510 at one a month (about what they last me) I am looking at lasting double the warranty period for same price.
If you haven't already reached $70 the way you're going you will soon. Do the math.

No one is making you purchase a PureSmoker PT for $70. If you want one, get one, if the price point is too high, then go purchase a cheaper one. End of story. Why is this still a discussion?
To add something constructive if the problem was people cross threading then maybe look at using 7075 Aluminum and after machining having it type 3 hard anodized. Works for the Military on things like M-16/M-4 rifles. Also works for aircraft industry ;-)
Are Rifles Conductive ?!?!?!? o, that's right ....... no .......
Anodizing = Tube being no longer conductive if we are talking about threads. Sure we can cap the tops and bottoms but that defeats the purpose .... So Far, not a single cross thread issue with Stainless ...
Like was mentioned bud .... If you don't agree with the price, no one is forcing you to buy bud. If you are content replacing your current PT's every month, go for it.
