Thanks, PorscheGuy

All I know about my hub at this point is that it's blue, it blinks real pretty, and it's USB 2. The lighting is really bad there at night, so I can't see what it is yet. I'll look at it tomorrow. It doesn' t look like any of the ports are "special" in any way.

And all my wall-warts are 500 mah. Ack.

The other option, and I feel stupid for not knowing what they're called (BAD IT GUY!!!) but I have one at work, is a USB y-cable, like a splitter except that it works in reverse where it has 2 male USB ends that go into 2 USB ports and one female USB connector that the device plugs into and it provides twice the power to the device, which would provide 1000mA on USB 2.0 and 1800mA on USB 3.0.

Is this what you are talking about?

Norman, Ok

No, that is a special cable that is used to externalize an internal USB 3 connecter that is only used on certain motherboards...

What was being refered to is what is commonly used to provide power to a USB connected external hard drive or other drive ( like a DVD etc )... It has two male USB cables that plug into the existing USB ports on your computer and a single end on the device side

Hahaha, while I really like your description of your USB hub, I might need a little more to go on! :)

Yeah, I dug out my eGo wall charger after I replied and it's only 500mA. :( Do you own a smartphone? If so and if the USB cord detaches those are usually 1000mA. If you really end up loving the pass-through you could probably pick up a USB wall charger at Radio Shack pretty cheaply.

Thanks, guys. I think I'll just get the one from Amazon. It's cheap enough, and I need to get a couple of e-books anyways. So this will work.

I just checked out my old dongle, and it looks like it's dying. It will fire, but it's not putting out anything close to the power needed to have the Stardust (reg. resistance) work even half-way decent. Oh, well.

And someone please tell me why I am still awake???
