I still really want a rocket so I was searching around for some extra batteries for it and some hoe ended up on some vapors forum from a google link and they are not very nice over there lol And I thought I had foul language wow. I still don't know what kind of batteries you can get for it or where. lol

I too just ordered some C8s I have used two of them since they first came out with the version 1 and they are still going.

I know diddly squat about the c8s. I remember when they came out and I couldn't get one at the time. Then I read about the juice dumping and was scared off. Hopefully these fix the issues.

For those of you with experience, what exactly was causing the dumping? What did you do to try to avoid it? Any tips or tricks to share with the rest of the newbies?
By the way, Dan's the man. I got the notice that the shipping label was printed about 30 minutes after placing my order. I'll bet it's here before Sunday.

I know some people had trouble with the first and second versions . I have only used ver.1,and all that I have done to them is clip the wicks a little .I and glad that G.V. Is giving them another chance.

Try the kindle charger....I think it was Briar that said the Nook one worked for her. Can't imagine there is much difference in their specs.

The Kindle charger works MUCH better - but it says it's 5V/.85A

Ok guys I am out of ECF time...Well ok lets be realistic here, I prolly aint gonna sleep very much tonight. So I just went and did it. A couple weeks ago I sold everything eGo. Retail over $225, I sold it to a buddy for $80. I have all APVs. So now Alpha goes and drops this cool eGo stuff and it has brought me rushing back to the eGo. I just purchased a new batt, charger, those cool Alpha clearo thingamajigs, and the Mountain something Pass E juice. I will give the PT a shot at proper power, with the powered USB hub thats on the way.Plus I am a tobacco flavor freak. So thats my justification for the purchase, also I took an oath as an Alpha member. If you guys wouldn't mind explaining this to my wife I would appreciate it. For now we'll keep this between us. SHHHHH
I will skim thru these next few pages, no offense to anyone who gets overlooked. I have 5 threads like this that I feel as if I must sign off of.

In regards to the pin, mine wasn't too high. I didn't feel any resistance when screwing my cartos on. The night before last, it had actually gotten pushed in too far to connect to my Phoenix 3ml and I had to pull it up a bit. I was kind of surprised by how easy it was to pull up, by the way. Maybe a little too easy? Normally, I can't really see if I'm making any progress when I try to lift the pin on a regular battery, but this one was moving plain as day. I still don't understand how pins get pushed down on some batts and not others when I'm using the exact same cartos on them.

As for the voltage readings, I'm a little amazed. 2.7-2.8??? That definitely doesn't apply to mine. I get more vapor, warmth and whatnot out of this thing at its lowest voltage than I do on my regular eGo battery at full charge using the 2.4-2.6 ohm Phoenixes. May I ask what kind of power the adapter/USB put out that you used? When I did my test last night using an old ecig charging adapter that was 5 volts and .5 amps, there was almost no power getting to this thing. I got vapor at the lowest setting, but it was so little that I almost didn't even see it, much less taste or feel it.

I assume it's more of a QC thing for the pin. As for my adapter, it's a 5v 2A adapter so definitely giving it enough juice. I think just the setting of the first one was programmed wrong or something. even with multiple tests on all settings, still got the same reading. at least each setting is consistent for me haha!

Ah well, I figured you knew your stuff, but it never hurts to ask. These seem to be a hit with most folks. A bit more quality control and a few tweaks and it will be almost perfect.

I am not really a HV vaper. I actually really like 3.7. I am on the fence about the rocket.

Welcome to Alpha I did not think I would use the HV parts of the rocket either (happy @ ego voltage)but it has been interesting to experiment with different flavors & carto's You should try it !! I missed the PT too ...but it is ok. When BAD says "there will be NEW TOYS ,THERE WILL BE new toys !"

Thanks for your incite... I have NOT tried these ...I did win one from a contest, just never got around to try it ...I guess I'll have to try it now & order some of the new ones ...just for comparison & the Alpha experience

Hi, guys, and good night at the same time...

OMG, did I have an absolutely rotten couple of days - and that's all I'm gonna say about that. Other than I still haven't gotten paid, and I am beginning to truly and deeply hate SS.

And I haven't had a chance to even look at the forum today. Will catch up tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I got my dongle. I don't have a proper adapter for it yet. However, I plugged it into my powered USB strip, and it seems to be working - though I'm not sure if it's working up to its full potential. It's working well enough for me, that's all I can say.

I like the way it looks. It's very comfortable for me to hold. I am very happy using it.

One little wrinkle: the button. It fires too easily. If I don't press it deliberately and firmly, it tends to "catch" unexpectedly, I don't notice, and I've had the unit switch modes on me, or even turn off, inadvertently.

As for the cable... It doesn't look dinky to me. On the other hand, some protection for where it joins the unit could be nice. Generally, I think these ought to be used with a pass-through stand to avoid cable issues when trying to stand this thing up in any way, in a glass, or whatever. I don't like holding my devices horizontally - takes too much space and tends to flood the Stardusts.

And on that note - g'night Jim-Bob-John-Boy-Ken-Porsche-Kelley-Bonny-and everyone else whom I didn't mention by name but love nevertheless.

Mine is nice & "clicky", but the rhythm & speed of clicking to change voltages plumb escapes me. It just seems erratic in its response. But I'll live with that quirk.

I hadn't considered the stand issue. Especially as it relates to Stardusts - probably other ce-2 styles too. I've been using mine with a v1 C8 that needs to lay on its side... or suffer random juice dumps.
