Okay, since I'm usually the first one to get their hands on the new items (thanks to GV shipping and early mail delivery times here plus Eastern Standard time) here's what's going on.
Initially, I was not expecting it to arrive today. I have never seen the USPS tracking site skip Atlanta completely, but it did this time. I was notified literally 5 minutes before the mail ran that it was in my town. I was like
Then, I saw there was one single box in there when I ordered 2 units. I was like
I opened the box and realized there's 2 in a box and I was like
I saw this strange metal piece loose in the bubble wrap that contained the c8 and I was like
I tried to figure out where it fit on the c8 until I remembered I'd ordered an 808 to 510 adapter and I literally
Okay, enough silliness. The first c8 is filled with 80pg/20vg green apple and screwed onto the zongle. The second is filled up with a 0 nic
juice of the same pg/vg ratio that I don't care too much about losing and is sitting in a bottle cap to see if it dumps. That way, I can maybe save the
juice because I hate to waste even if I don't care about the juice much.
I watched LD's video about the c8
C8 (Cryptonite) Review - YouTube I didn't and still don't know if the filling rules apply since this is another version, but I just went with it. First off, I probably made a c8 faux pas. I took the top plug with the little prongs out and set it aside while I filled the c8 up, turned upside down and filled it up to the top with no bubble. While I was filling it, juice was dripping out into my hand from the other hole. When I filled the second one, I left one of the prongs from the plug in the hole while I filled through the other. That's the one that's sitting in the cap, by the way.
First impression: nice, hot vape. The unit gets quite hot with semi chain vaping, but that's not really a common thing for me to do. No dumping from the active unit. It doesn't like 4.2 volts, so I've backed off to 3.8. It's a tighter draw than I usually like. It was kinda hard to get the threading to catch on the zongle, but that's far from a big deal. Just noteworthy. I like the whistle tip, surprisingly. It's more comfortable than I was expecting. It's also a tight fit, but that's a good thing with tips as far as I'm concerned. It's a very sexy little unit, I love the way it looks.
Not a lot of vapor, flavor is quite good. It's comparable to the Phoenix in terms of flavor, falls dismally short in terms of vapor production but the Phoenix is beyond awesome in that regard. So, I guess the vapor production is average or a bit above. The throat hit is the best I've ever had from any carto/tank. I absolutely LOVE it for TH. I mean, holy heck. I haven't coughed from vaping ever in the history of the world.
Note that a lot of this may change as it breaks in. I have no idea how long it takes to break one in properly. Also, the one that's sitting to the side has absorbed maybe a quarter milliliter of juice and seems to have stopped. Not too bad, that's a good bit of wick absorption for a bottom coil (I think).
The dump test started at 12:05 pm est, I'll check it every hour to see what it's doing. So far, no leaks. If it hasn't dumped by around 5 or whenever I remember, I'll put it on its side and see what happens.
Happy vaping!
Edit: Soon as I submitted this, I started getting dry hits at 3.8, knocked it down to 3.0 (blue) which is the end of the line. Got some gurgling, too. LD says to blow into it to clear it out, didn't really work but I'm afraid of blowing juice through it like the Phoenix. Any thoughts? No flooding at the connector.
