The charger B&N lists on their site is 5V 1.8A which should be ok. Look on the tag on the transformer and it should say Output: Volts and Amps or MiliAmps.

Yes it say 5v 1.8 amps. So I'm good with that? I also have a samsung stratosphere smartphone but I can't read the voltage on it

I'm late to the party today, but as Teach said 1.8A (1800mA) is just fine! And your Samsung charger should be 1A (1000mA) which is sufficient, but I would use the B&N charger since you have it.

It looks like that I'll be getting the VV pass thru tomorrow... which I sort of expected but the ETA was shown as Tuesday instead...

While I am a bit excited to get another pass thru ( a VV one at that ) for use at the house... I think I'm more curious about the Dripper's Dream atty that I tossed in for good measure so I wasn't just ordering just one item ( budget restricted any more than that ).

Of all the actual atty's I've had previously, none were made for dripping and I didn't want to mod them really... I still need to pick up a sealed 510-510 adapter and a drip shield but until then, this will do for testing out a new juice to see what it tastes like and/or to find out if it needs a steep before I load it up into a tank.

Removing the Mesh and bridge is simple w a sewing needle and your right there's no better way to test and truly taste your juices than a good atty. Weather it was originally made for dripping or not. The only difference is drippers have no bridge and the filler around the coil cup is a little more absobent. So a powerless pull every now and then will draw the extra stored juice into the wick and coil.

The voltage one vapes at has nothing to do with the rate at which current is delivered to a batt when charging or "passingthru"

This is a direct pass thru... the power supply must be able to supply the voltage/amperage that is going to be used during use.

A power supply that can supply 5v at 2.1a will be able to allow a max power of 10.5w. As long as the selected voltage and the resistance of the atty/carto don't exceed that 10.5w all should work fine.

Exactly! The amperage is the "power", not the voltage.

Actually amperage is current... wattage is power

Thank you sir. Its a great thing to have backup for times like these.
So that explains why PTs dont go up to 5v.

Yes. You just need a USB power source. Example would be a USB adaptor that plugs into your cigarette lighter.

Here is a maybe somewhat question, but could I use this pass thru in my car? That is what my intentions were.

Owww, my brain. Does this translate into "Why, yes, Bonny. Your 5v 2amp adapter is gonna work fine on your new dongle even if you fire it at 4.8 volts!"

Thanks for the peace of mind! I can really do 2.4 at 4.8? I thought it'd be way too hot.

I just mentioned that the power supply could handle down to that ohm coil... that would produce around 9.6 watts which may actually be too much or too little for you... everyone has a different wattage they prefer. I'm a 6-7w vapor and I know of some that like to vape up to 14w...

If you don't know what wattage you like... be conservative at first and start around 3.6v if you are using a 2.4 ohm coil... that will give you 5.4w ... if it isn't enough you can then move up to the 4.2v which is 7.35w... and the 4.8w finally at around 9.6w

You can use this website Voltage current resistance and electric power formula calculations calculator general electrical pie chart electricity calculation - electrical power formula general ohms law physics electricity electronics formula wheel formulas amps watts volts ohm to help you do the math for you... so your brain won't hurt so much... :D
