Physically, they look exactly the same, size, nipples, etc. Also the alternate batteries work fine in Rocket #2.

the difference in the batteries besides the brand is the included no-names are 900 mah, and the AW's are 700 mah. Could this cause them to work in one rocket and not the other?

I can't find 900 mah protected 18350 batteries anywhere. If GV can't get the vendor to offer up spare/replacement batteries this would be a dealkiller on the Rocket IMO.

The mAh rating shouldn't make a difference... except in vape time.

Makes me wonder if there's something inside Rocket #1 blocking contact... I'd suggest looking inside - measuring/comparing the two to see if there's any internal difference between them.

But wouldn't that make it not work with the original batteries either? I'll try it though.

Actually there can be other differences that may affect if one brand/model of battery works or not ....

Type... there are two major types of batteries... one is called a flat top and then there is a button top. Usually if the device takes both into account ( the device itself will have a raised button on the positive side ).... you can use either type of battery and it should work...

The "should" is the catch.... while the batteries are suppose to be made to a standard... on a 18350 it should be 18mm diameter and 35mm long... the manufacturers follow those very loosely so some are bigger around or longer/shorter etc. These minor differences in size can make the difference in one brand working and making good contact and another brand not working or just making a poor contact. This issue is complicated by the devices themselves also not following strick tolerances.

At this point, the Rocket is just an Alpha test product and GV currently carries no other mod's that use this size of a battery so there is little reason for them to stock the batteries yet... If the Rocket is added as a main product then I see no reason that GV wouldn't carry a compatible battery making the statement about the battery issue a non-issue. In addition, I was easily able to find a source for a similar battery that is protected by performing a simple google search...

You probably didn't see my entire series of posts. I did research the batteries carefully and ordered what was seemed to be the most compatible, an AW 18350 700 mah. It has a button top just like the generic in the Rocket. The size is identical, so it isn't size.

Thanks.

On the Mini Pass Throughs--we are liking what we are hearing but Iam concerned with some wonkiness in changing voltages- some are saying (Ken) that it just flashes a rainbow of colors, etc. Any other feedback on that? I am goign to get another 20 of these so we can get more feedback as this seems promising. Once I can aggregate the feedback we'll take it to the manufacturer to see if we cna get betetr consistency if we are goign to main line this product.

On the unit I tested it worked great except when you got to the top voltage it cycled back to the second voltage level (after you clicked out of top voltage level) and THEN cycled back to first voltage level...

I have used my Mini Passthru quite a bit. Almost vaped 6ml through it. The only time it acted wonky, is when I was also charging my phone. My car charger for my phone also has a USB port in it. If I just use it for the PT, I have no problems. If I use. It for both, there are times when the light on the PT blinks when I vap, my phone screen also lights up at the same time. This has me thinking that maybe the light blinks if there is not enough power.

I've not had any problem with the lights on the button ~ I haven't tested the voltage, but it feels as though it's where it should be as far as increasing correspondingly, although I know I'm still not using the right wall adapter. I'm using the one for Kindle and it's marked 5V/.85A.

But I do need an adapter that's 5V/2Amp...Is that a Best Buy/Radio Shack/Walmart item or do I need to order it online?

Can somebody post a link to what they're using?

I do think these are promising, danno - not to mention they're extremely cute.

BTW this order is the first one I've gotten taffy in - I thought it was an accident

You would be wrong with thinking I didn't read the other posts you ( or others ) have made... My post was more general in nature and only meant as additional info that could be considered

WAIT! I'll have to check mine when I get out to the car after work to make 100% sure (and to make sure I didn't get the Blue & Green backwards), but mine goes Blue -> Purple (all colors) -> Red -> Green -> OFF (all colors like the Purple setting, but strobing!) -> back to Blue. So when you think it's jumping back to the 2nd setting instead of the lowest after the top voltage it might actually be OFF.

BTW, I'll try and report back as soon as I get home so I don't leave you hanging, but right before this I put in a request to have my ECF Username changed to "MarcK73" so I don't know if that will cause me to not be able to log in while it's transitioning...

Oh, ok. Yeah, I actually looked around a lot on-line, and it was actually another user on this thread that suggested the AW 18350...and they work great on Rocket #2. Rocket #1 is just weird. I have to use an adapter on it to get my Vivi to fire, too.

Inventory was wrong---I put up the actual remaining in stock--about 22...

Darn... darn... darn...

The V3 Cryptonite 8 Ego Cartomizer's are sold out... I was hoping to test these out. I also had the random juice dumps with the first version but it vaped great...

Well... hopefully those that got some will report back ( favorably I hope )...

The AW brand batteries ( not the fakes of course ) are some of the best batteries out there along with Sanyo and Panasonic brands. TrustFire and UltraFire are also probably a step down or so in quality but they are also faked a lot... The hard part is avoiding the fakes and the best way to do it is only purchase from companies that get their stock only from authorised distributors... If they don't list that info on their website, ask... if they do they will be proud to tell you. Any price that appears too good to be true, most likely is...

That was an odd glitch then... I knew last night it has shown 22 in stock, but I also know between last night and now is a long time with these types of items. I was planning on waiting until something else dropped that interested me... now paranoia has set in... lol... got some thinking to do I guess...

Oh... and thanks for fixing the inventory level btw
