OK first shipment today... Vaped a lot of juice, feeling a little green, throat burns (ce9's fault) Here are my thoughts...
Alpha Meerkat iGo aka Amigo:
* No brainer, just glad I have one, but the thing is just TINY. I mean you put a cone on it and it doubles in size. It's smaller than my DCT. I love it. It works great on my 1.5 ohm DCT
* The Amigo does not function with my CE9 5 piece rebuildable tank atomizer. I'll get to the bottom of that later.
Greensound SOLE eLips (I will keep this short as I have read everyone's posts about this and I know many have reviewed this):
* Super Cute. Simple packaging, Clean looks nice. I can't say enough about how impressed I am with the appearance and feel of this tiny little monster.
* Charger port or the stem on my USB plug is bent. Charged and meters out at roughly 3.8 volts so far.
* Carto, super simple to fill... I primed it with a few drops and vaped... good, good, warning. I blocked the draw holes on the side of the carto and created a suction, this helped get the fluid going. I have been priming, pumping and vaping off and on for almost a tank now. Good vapor, low flavor/throat hit with a touch of plastic flavor over the top, not overwhelming. I am vaping a pretty thin 80/20 blend that wicks well in my DCTs and most anything else I have tried it on. It's a menthol and seems to be lost in the flavor. My carto meters out at 3.1 ohm.
* My wife saw it, and instantly wants one.
* The mouthpiece (not a driptip) is amazing, one of the most satisfying experiences outside of a normal wide opening drip tips. Solid feel and look. I remember someone compared it to a pipe and I agree a little bit, in that this feels substantial unlike the mouthpiece on the Vision Grande (no offense guys).
* Overall I would buy more of these just to have spares. I like this over the eGo styling and feel, plus the top coil carto. One last thing I am exited for the 510 connection.
CE9 5 Piece Atty Tank:
* Oh boy, this thing is a heaping hot mess.
* Heavy, decent threads, good materials. Looks good on the Amigo and my SB.
* Mine meters out at 2.4 ohm (at the posts, the connection goes all around from 8 ohm to 1.8 ohm and maybe that's my fault because it's hard to meter there with a probe).
* I can't stand these tanks still, no matter how many times I try, the draw is too stiff and unsatisfying.
* The sleeve for the eGo is just a loose ring of metal, nothing more.
* I took the whole thing apart right away. The first piece is the terrible tank, pull it out, simple. The second section is the screw on surround for the tank, when this is removed you can see the puncture/wick portion that goes in to the tank. This area was filled with silica wicking in tiny pieces everywhere. The whole feeder wick was a mess and looked just bad. I cleaned that out and pulled the wick out to try to make it one solid clean looking piece. The next level down (there is a part that separates below the bottom and second to bottom diamond textured sections) is the coil wrapped wick. The picture from the alpha site shows it perfect, the wicking is a mess in there too.
* To get it vaping I soaked the wick and coil section, fired it a few times (open not reassembled) made sure it was producing and soaked it again a few times. While I was doing this I saw that the wicking wouldn't wick enough juice in to keep the coils wet. It would dry out right within the coil section, when I let go it would then wick back in, but it dried out fast! I don't know if the coil is too close together or if the wicking material needs to break in. Once the coil was wet, I soaked the feeder wick, adjusted it, mounted the tank and fail within about 6 puffs. This will be a project.
* I had luck with popping out the tank portion and the feeder wick and using it like a dripper. Nice dripper 2 drops = 2-3 drags. None of my drip tips fit without a tank but I just used the tank cover portion and it vaped well. I might just make this a washable dripper at this rate.
My tips will come with fiddling, but until then my early vote count goes like this:
Amigo was a no brainer, way to go on Mainlining this one.
eLipse, Good, but needs some instruction on juice, filling and such for regular customers
CE9, this is a rough prototype looking set of guts with a nice frame. I would vote against the eGo tanks all in all. This thing wont feed very well for me yet, though I did vape a half a tank on my SB (mostly dry hits with a few winners).
