some have mentioned indoor smoking areas.
i envy you. in Minnesota there is no indoor
smoking period. i remember back in the
day -20F huddled around together power
puffing the coffin nails.
i still join the guys out back though.
its where you hear all the best jokes.

Yep and just maybe you can convert a few of those smokers to vaping while hanging out with them.

I think 80% of the arguing in these threads comes from people putting words/thoughts into other people's mouths/heads.

I think there's a lot of confusion/misunderstanding about where smoking is allowed, in places like California that doesn't include parks, beaches, apartments, condos, and pretty much any business including vape shops. So when vapers tell other vapers that they shouldn't vape anywhere that smoking isn't allowed, some of us get a little touchy, especially when we're currently fighting legislation trying to force that restriction upon us.

Tell us more. How did you get to start smoking if it was so terribly disgusting?

Ohh it seemed the thing to do at the time. Kinda like my first marriage. I actually enjoyed smoking but realized it was a stinky habit even while I smoked. I had no plans to stop smoking this time. I had stopped several times over the years, 35 or so years. and that was not a problem, staying stopped was the problem. The wife unit had bought me a disposable last fall and I threw in in my lunchbag and forgot about it. Then for new years she got me a way overpriced cigalike starter kit. I figured I would try it if it meant that much to her, within a week I was ordering more batteries from a much cheaper place, empty cartos, etc and had smoked my last cig. Much better wind and now when I sweat I do not smell like nicotine/cigs. Maybe just a hint of blueberry though :)

I am also saving money. I have gone from cigalikes to 808 threaded egos with T4 and Esmart clearos to Evods and T3S. And with all that I am still about 30% under my old monthly cigs expenses of 120 or so per month. yep cigs are still fairly cheap here in ky if you buy the cheaper brands. I think about 45 for a carton of Marlboros. I just need to get some more japanese cotton and I am fixed for the next 3 months with NO vaping expenses if I so choose. I suspect I will buy something though :D Maybe a cheap little single coil dripper for testing flavors. Only about $10 or so for that though.

Very good point. In the next county over from me you can still smoke in businesses that choose to allow it.
And if they want to ticket me for vaping or smoking(if I still did that) in an open outdoor park then they will just have to do that.

As I have said before I will not vape in a business such as a store or in anyones home unless they tell me it is fine to do so or they vape there.

Yeah, just wait until the eviction notices start going out for vaping in your apartment, or the moving violations for vaping in a car with a minor present.

I can see the vaping a car with a child present...Well just a little bit, and as a renter you have to do as the owner requires. LAWS on not vaping in your home either rented or owned are just wrong though. time to move for me if they start that here.

Where I work you cannot smoke or vape in your car on their property. I can see that as their right as the property owner although it is stupid. I just go accross the street to vape at lunch.

Well, are we talking about vaping or smoking?
Is smoking a health risk? Yes
Is SHS, the basis for smoking bans, a health risk? Maybe, definitely not as high a risk as we've been told.
Is vaping a health risk? No, not until someone definitively proves otherwise.
Is SHV a health risk? LOL see above.

So yes, it IS ignorance, ignorance of the facts about vaping. Ignorance of the fact that vaping IS NOT SMOKING.

Cancer did not cause the ridicule of smokers, the systematic demonization and government funded ostracizing of smokers did that all on it's own. Think about any other form of cancer, do we ridicule women for having breasts? Yes, smoking was a choice, and if you're vaping you've probably made the choice to be healthier, so why subject yourself to the same ridicule.

Again, I am not advocating vaping anywhere you want, however you want, ignoring rules/laws/common courtesy. Being courteous of others and your surroundings is common sense, voluntarily restricting yourself due to the ignorance of others is nonsense.
breasts are a choice these days also.

I am not advocating treating vaping like smoking or even only vape in smoking area's. I am suggesting a little courtesy with your vaping. If your in an airport, its not a good suggestion to be sitting back with your 200 watt mod in one hand and a bottle of juice in the other hand. What is wrong with using an ego and a small clearomizer in a situation like that. You still get your fix and as many said they have a travelling vape set up. If your in a crowded area and need a fix, walk to an area not so crowded for your fix instead of trying to create a fog bank in the middle of the crowd. Promote vaping by being a vape representative, not an antagonizer. Thats all I am saying.
i do it at 80 watts with vg and 6% flavor.

nobody notices.

i agree somewhat with what you're saying. i just don't think it's necessary that Watts matter.

then when i go outside to the parking lot or my own privacy, without changing a thing in my setup... cloudz.

for the record, i don't produce clouds for "cloudz yo". i do it because @ 50mg/ml, that's what works for me to keep me off the cigs.

So here it is again.
We dont smoke in public anymore because it is harmful.
See my thing n, if smoking is allowed in small little rooms where my health can negatively be affected? cant I have my rights while not impeding on others?

lol really? What are we, the queen of England now? All of a sudden now that we vape, cigarette smoke is 'harmful' to us? What about when you sit by a campfire, or breathe in fumes from a vehicle? If you think vaping should be allowed in places other than where the smokers go, then I dunno what to tell you.

C'mon, now.

Thats the main thing, staying off the cigs. I tried the cloud chasing a few times and my lungs cant handle the heat or the volume. After 40 years of 2/3 packs a day and COPD my lungs just dont like the heat of high wattage or the volume. Top that off with the 8 abdominal surgeries I had in the last 6 months and my body really really dont like to cough so doing high wattage cloud chasing is out of the question. But the volume from a Kayfun is just fine for me.

I do love to watch the cloud chasers compete. Some of the tricks I would also love to do but its not in the cards for me.

Is second hand smoke really That Dangerous? No. It was a lie propagated to fit the agenda that extreme anti tobacco zealots wanted to use to get people to stop smoking. Let's face it, if you are a non smoker, smoking stinks. But that's about all it does.

Please read: Velvet Glove, Iron Fist: New study finds no link between secondhand smoke and lung cancer

Just a snippet from the article
Even if we disregard statistical significance (and why would we?), it seems that only decades of chronic exposure in the home might, at most, have an extremely modest effect on lung cancer risk. There is nothing to indicate the slightest risk to those who work in or patronise the bars and restaurants which have been forced to ban smoking.

Just dropping it in here for those who would like to read more about it...
