    Somewhere between here and there
My day went from bad to worse. After the failure this morning, I worked on another machine and it went fine. Then when I powered up the third one to troubleshoot it, sparks shot out and it caught on fire. I had to use a fire extinguisher to put it out. This is not a common occurrence for me. I might have one of the two things that happened today occur maybe once every year or two. After two major failures, I decided to not work on anything the rest of the day.

I don't need flavors. I need batteries, wire, definitely some nicotine, and probably some VG. Vaperstek has 10% off nicotine (I like their premium nicotine a lot) but you have to spend $20 on nic to get the 10% off. 240mls is $19.99. *sigh* I don't know if I will use more than that while I am in Washington so might as well just buy 120mls and not get a discount. It wouldn't amount to much anyway. I am trying to figure out if I have enough left for the 4th of July sale which was 25% off last year. Decisions, decisions!

Me too. Definitely don't need any more flavors right now. Batteries is probably what I'll be buying this weekend but no Easter sale happening at Illumn.com :(

    Finally conquered the raspberry!

Been playing with PUR Raspberry, which is so juicy, plump and realistic tasting, but it was fading on me - or possibly muting at higher percentages.

Tried FA Raspberry (Berry) solo @2% - got florals and a 'just ripe' fresh, slightly tart raspberry taste. Didn't like the florals however.

Combined the two with 1% FA Raspberry and 3% PUR Raspberry - after a 3 day steep the florals are gone, and I've got a ripe, plump juicy raspberry that is perfect.

It’ll be interesting to see how long it takes to fade.

I had an interesting morning at work. I replaced some parts in a machine I was working on and when I powered it up, one of the big electrolytic capacitors blew up. It had checked good before powering up but must have been weak. It sounded like a shotgun going off and I was about five feet away.

    I hope you weren’t injured!

No injuries today. Just a couple of good scares. It’s been a long time since anything like that happened and it’s very rare at that. I always do a visual inspection and some pre checks before working on anything but that wasn’t good enough today.

CVAPOR will get you 15% off and they have free shipping right now. That is the best deal on batteries I could find.

Batteries are at the top of my "want" list too (18650's).

I have been using the LG H2's and EFest 35amp/2500mAh baterries... but have kind of been disappointed in their longevity. Then again, maybe 4+ years is not unreasonable....

I am currently building 1+ ohm single coil builds (low draw/low output; SS temp controlled setups). Flavor is all I care about (and getting through the day without changing a battery). Note: my peference is for a single battery device.

Are there other/better batteries I should be looking at?

    Thanks for the link @PJReid
I'm in Canada so I checked out their shipping costs and found them to be really high compared to Illumn.com. I'll just bite the bullet and get my usual order.

    @IDJoel

Your 4 year old batteries are a bit long of the tooth. I get nervous when batteries are 2 years old and usually replace them at that point regardless of how they're performing.

I would replace any batteries that old asap. Dendrites form in li-ion batteries over time and make your battery much more unstable than when they were new. This is a known, naturally occurring condition with li-ion technology that happens over time and multiple charging cycles.

A study published by scientists at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory put it this way: “Dendrites form when metallic lithium takes root on a battery’s anode and begin growing haphazardly. If the dendrites grow too large, they can puncture the separator between the electrodes and short-circuit the cell, resulting in catastrophic battery failure, fire and explosion”.

LG H2's are great batteries but I'm not so sure about the eFests (they are not a manufacturer, they just re-wrap and especially because there is no such thing as a 35A 18650, it's just not possible with the existing technology). If Mooch doesn't recommend them I don't buy them. I only use LG H2's and Samsung 25R's myself. I find them both to be great performing batteries that are cheap and easily accessible. I mainly use single battery mods myself and find both will last a full day. :)

IMRbatteries are having a sale on LG HG2’s $3.99 each.

Thanks for the lead! I don't shop with them because they won't ship USPS outside of the USA. UPS shipping to Canada is $35 then UPS charges another $20 for customs clearance. A good sale for Joel to jump on though...
