School's already closed here, until at least the end of April.

Crazy times, time for comfort food :)

I've been taking the extra time to mix some new recipes..

Down and Dirty by Nick Evans
Custard INW 3%
Marshmallow FA 1.5%
RY4 Hangsen 4.5%
Sugar Cookie Cap 1.5%
Vanilla Classic VT 1.5%
Vanilla Ice Cream LB 6%

On another note, I believe I might be coming down with the flu. I was running a high fever last night and this morning woke up with the usual malaise and fatigue. My compromised immune system always makes having the flu rather fun.

I've been getting the flu vaccine almost every year since 1998 and have had the flu about 3 times since- the years I failed to get it. I was too busy getting the house in Florida ready for sale and just never got around to doing it. I put in a call with my doctor down in Florida and I'm waiting for her to call back. Hoping some Tamiflu does the trick.

Have you been tested for the new virus?

They're starting to cancel school for the rest of the year.
I saw Kansas has closed also for the rest of the year..... May as well brace for the possibility that life as we have lived it all of our lives may never return to normal......Makes me sick to my stomach to even think that let alone type it out.

The hype has done more damage than the virus.

I've tried several chocolate milkshake and malt recipes and truthfully none of them are doing much for me. Honestly, the best one I tried is my own. It's actually not too bad but I certainly wouldn't put it in the great category. Keep in mind, I'm looking for that grand slam chocolate recipe so my standards are very high. Perhaps others with less chocolate snobbery than I would like my recipe.

    Chocolate Malt

    Milk Chocolate (TFA) 6.0%
    Double Chocolate Clear (TFA) 3.0%
    Malted Milk (TFA) 3.0%
    Milk Chocolate (FLV) 0.5%
    Vanilla Swirl (TFA) 0.5%
    Sweetener (TFA) 0.25%

As with all these chocolate recipes I have trouble getting much strength out of them. The few that are strong have less-than-desireable aftertaste to them. The worst is FLV's Milk Chocolate. It's a very strong flavor but it has a soapy taste to it. That's why it is limited to 0.5% in this recipe. Any more and it takes away from the recipe instead of adding to it.

A wiped out economy is worse for our health than what this virus can do.
Ain't that the truth. Folks really should wake up and see what's happening. Personally I agree with my States motto. "Live free or die".

I quit watching news in 2008. But I am living it. Just scary. Working from home is nice, though limited. Skype conference call in a few minutes. Work goes on. We have enough supplies for at least a month, but we'll have to get out there when we run out.

You should be tested for the virus. Take care. Fingers crossed for you.

Maybe consider delivery services or thru the mail items?

I stocked early for both us and my parents. Between us we have tons. I go back to work supposedly in two weeks so I'll get out there anyway. But we have plenty for now and I'm not worried about it. But I'm not opposed to mail delivery. If you can find stuff in stock. Crazy world right now.

Maybe be worth it to check diyflavorshack and/ or diyshop i linked a while back. Both lady owners who are most helpful and have had their own versions created by them or for them by flavor companies.. Just a thought.
    :)

amazon now has estimated delivery times for oos items. They encourage pre-ordering to be sure to get it. Who knows if its worth that or not but is something to consider.

Yeah, I have that in my back pocket. I'm holding out hope that my DIY chocolate NET extracts will get me closer to what I'm looking for. Trying not to get too jazzed about it but I liked what I whiffed. I have five more weeks before I can begin filtering it. The companies who make tobacco casings seem to be better at flavorings than what I have seen from us DIYers. Not sure how they do it except they probably dedicate far more resources to getting flavors right than we do. They've been at it for decades and some more than a century.

I have not the fever just started last night. I'll see what my doctor says, but I don't think I'll be leaving the house today. Pray for Mrs. Skeebo, I can be...... well, a man when I get sick. I did find a box of expired Theraflu in the medicine chest.

    I don't think it's that serious.
