I really need to do that. I was thinking about it last night but didn't quite figure out yet what strength I want to mix the base at.

The mix my base at whatever nic I’m planning to use the juice at, and calculate for 10% flavor.

I start usually with 5% flavor and so yes, it’s higher nic and all my %s are off. No big deal. They’re only tests. Everything is close enough that it’ll taste right in the end.

There is no way I would ever return to 50/50 period. I might agree to a 75vg/25 peg but betting I would prefer the vg/dw vape regardless of flavor. I can mix to my mav vg preferences.
Man, everybody took that wrong. Back on page 24 you said you got just as good a flavor with vg it just takes longer to steep. I was just saying that I had done that experiment and to try it and see if thats true. I wasnt suggesting anybody go back to mixing 50/50. I was just pointing out that there is a difference in flavor. Really wish I wouldnt have said anything.
The apple recipe is "Wayne Walkers from diyordie". Its yummy

I can tolerate it as long as it doesnt get past maybe25-30%. I used to mix everything max VG because of that and I began to notice everything seemed a little flat. The flavor is there, just not very vivid and bright. Thats the only reason I tried the peg400. I was trying to get better flavor. I had heard lots of people say max vg just takes longer to steep so I set up a little experiment to see if that was true and its not. IMHO anyway. The brightness seems to just be muddled a bit if that makes sense

It makes sense to me. I don't recall anyone actually saying they got good flavor with max VG.

I'm guessing I'm just going to have to arrange my mixing to allow for long steeps. I do get as bright a flavor with max vg it just takes much longer to bloom. One of the reasons I've been collecting super concentrates, shorter steep less pg. Same with moving to higher mg salts, less pg.
I was referring to this post when I made the challenge. I really didnt mean to ....everybody off. That was never my intention.

I didn’t take your post wrong at all. I literally would not for the sake of experiment vape a 50/50 blend, too thin for my preferred vape. Yes less vg provides sharper flavor but with diy I can compensate for that. I didn't get the impression anyone was "arguing" your point, just commenting on our choice of the bases we use. I love discussion and hate that I gave you the wrong impression.

I did say I can get good flavor with max vg. I have to add naturally brighter strong flavors to achieve a flavorful juice that I would not need normally.

I was adding a couple things to my wish list at BCF and was surprised how expensive pink guava is. I added to my list since I want to try it but 5.20 seems kinda steep for 10ml.
That is why I want to try the INW white grapefruit, the FLV line is good but imo not so good as to warrant their prices. Do love the wild melons and will keep that one on hand. But the tangerine is nowhere near worth it's price.

Fran I didn't mean to confuse you either.

I don't vape more than 10% PG I am PG sensitive.

I DO find my mixes brighter and less sweet using PEG40 than VG alone (I'm at 10% PG, 40% PG400 and 40% VG.

I find it better and more flavorful than VG only.. That tastes muddy.

I genuinely don't know if PEG400 would give you anything MORE or DIFFERENT than PG on its own.

It MAY or MAY not be worth a shot. PG AND PEG400 both cut down on sweetness (based on my very limited experience with PG) but I DON'T think PEG400 would give you a lot of magical lack of sweetness ANY more than PG, necessarily.

Again, it's hard for me to compare it because I am PG sensitive. I LIKE PEG400 a lot, but ONLY compared to max VG, that's about all I can say for it. I think it IS less sweet than VG and a better flavor carrier.

I do NOT (in my limited opinion) think it will magically make flavors ANY less sweet, it will carry flavors and is LESS sweet than VG so probably a little less sweet but ONLY compared to max VG flavors.

I hope this helps a BIT.

Some seem pretty high but most FLV is never above 3% and a lot are 1% or less whereas TFA,CAP might need two or three times that.
