Ty....that helps. Thinking I might like the melons........maybe.
I can only speak for me; but I like melon vapes for the most part. I find the flavor(s) I associate with eating melon, translate well to vaping melon flavors.

The one exception is watermelon. For some unknown (to me) reason; Jolly Rancher seems to be the norm. I don't want JR! I just want fresh, out-of-the-field, into the icebox, onto my plate. watermelon.
So far, I have yet to find that one.:(

I don't get much taste from real watermelons. Probably because I gave up growing them and most everything from a store is picked unripe so tastes watery.
If you get yours from a grocery store try flavorless with .005% flavoring ;)

I would suggest my 50/50 TFA/FA for watermelon but I tend to think fruit should taste like the candies. Although I don't think that blend tastes like TFA Watermelon Candy which I do identify as more candy-like.

The cantaloupe I have in the fridge has flavor. I picked it yesterday.
Even the local grown cantaloupe is flavorless compared to picked ripe.

So it looks like I need to add TFA cantaloupe to my list.

Have you tried Caps line of watermelon? Not JR to me. PUR leans towards the JR but not real sweet.

:)

No, I haven't. I have both CAP Double Watermelon, and CAP Sweet Watermelon (along with 9 other watermelons of various brands). But I got discouraged, and stopped testing, before I got to the CAP ones.

I need to revisit this flavor.

@IDJoel

Just to expand a little more on watermelon flavors. I have almost tried every vendors version of it. I can say most have weak flavoring taste in beginning and can take up to 3 weeks or more to start to develop. The longer it steeps the more the flavor blossoms. I do prefer Caps because it does not have an artificial or candied flavor. I also think that is why in lots of recipes the % are usually pretty high when mixing. I have used from 7 - 15% in my mixes....depends on if it is for a stand alone or with other flavors.

That does indeed help! I don't believe I have ever given any of my WM efforts near 3 weeks consideration. Now I know I have to revisit this category.

If you have any suggestions for a recipe, for just a straight up fresh fruit watermelon (no mints, menthols, or such), I would be grateful. :D

That's funny we were both thinking of Bill. :D

Yes it is! It took awhile to write my post (2 phone call interruptions, dog that needed to "go", etc.). While finishing it up finally, the little "Messages have been posted since you loaded this page" popped up. I knew how fast this thread moves, so thought my post about Bill's bases (or maybe "stones") might seem to be totally out in left field, by the time I posted it.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that 1 of those messages that had been posted...was yours...about Bill. It made me smile. :)

I’d like to check out his blog and recipes if they’re still available. Too bad he’s not currently active but I guess the baton has passed into your hands!!

Thanks for posting this information.

I see that several great links have already been posted for you. The Bill's Recipes one has many, but not all of his recipes. You'll find many more actually within his various Blog entries, too. He used to have a HUGE number of recipes in the Dropbox, but the link is a deadend now unfortunately. Luckily, I saved all 85 of them from it about 2 1/2 years ago. If you ever want any more of his, that aren't found in the Bill's Recipes or in his Blog...just shoot me a PM.

You're welcome for the info in my last post. :)

Thanks, Myk. I appreciate you sharing. :thumb:

It could still be worth a try; so I have added it to my recipes. :)

While we're here this is my watermelon. Everything but the watermelons are just flavor enhancements so I imagine any brand would work, it only tastes like watermelon to me.

Watermelon TFA 3.33%
Watermelon FA 3.33%
Wintergreen TFA 1.33%
Cucumber TFA .67%
Sour TFA .67%
Pineapple TFA .67%
DW 10%
VG 80%

Inawera Watermelon is also interesting to me just because it's strong enough I don't have to use up my whole 10% making a watermelon and I don't hate it alone. But I haven't messed with it much.
It is in my plans for a melon medley which is what I want a cantaloupe/honeydew for.

IMHO, the best pear out there today is Molin Berry Shape Up Pear. The only place I know that sells it is VapersTek and in 10ml bottles. :( I bought 4 on their last 25% off sale. I don't use a lot of it, so my 45mls should last me a while.
Shape Up Pear (MB) Another place you can get it

    Plans today ,folks?

My plans include no cream whatsoever. I did work up a recipe for the rather strange flavor pairings I posted last night. Going to try to get that mixed (small bottle). I have 2 teas I can try today. If I get bored I have several testers to try for a last time.
which is something I really need to do.

Potato candy is mashed potatoes (riced is better for texture). Fold powdered sugar into the potatoes until the mixture is thick enough to roll with a rolling pin. Roll out, I prefer parchment paper, in a rectangle or square about 1/4 - 1/2" thick. Spread with peanut butter and roll as you would a pinwheel or jelly roll. I like to fold a small amount of powdered sugar to the pb as well but isn't necessary. I also like to sprinkle lightly crushed pretzels on the pb before rolling occasionally. I put the roll in the fridge for an hour or two before slicing.
    Oh, the memories...:p

I ended up dumping the tank that I had filled with pom/pudding that I mixed with PEG. I think PEG isn't for me. It made the liquid thin enough that I think it was partially flooding the deck on my rta and making the mod push harder to reach the set temp. Also I got some spitback which had never happened on that tank since I got it. Thanks though to Letitia for sending me some to try and I didn't have to waste my money on an order.

Did you ever try it in place of PG?
