I don't claim to be an authority on the matter but from the information that I have seen to date, it was indeed the company ( The Perfume/Flavor Apprentice ) itself that introduced the new logo 'Fa' and not specific vendors. Why they chose this particular route is anybody's guess but I personally never cared for it. If you want to change your logo that's fine but at least make it so it doesn't create confusion with another brand. I can't imagine they didn't think this would potentially be an issue otherwise why bother to use the lower case letter 'a'?

Just for the record lol, I have also always listed base percentages as PG/VG ... probably because that is the way I was introduced to it and well, because P comes before V in the alphabet. :pervy:

Perfumer's Apprentice

The website is still TFA.
FB is still TFA, The Flavor Apprentice - TFA
True but they did post in some forum a few months ago that they were going to switch to Perfumers Apprentice and Flavor Apprentice and more of my bottles are coming in with Flavor Apprentice on the labels. NR and OSDIYS are the two that pop into mind without looking. Fa or FA is on the invoices as well.

"Flavor Apprentice themselves took this road"

Really? If that is true, then it seems self defeating and this certainly is not being reflected by their own website(s). Doesn't make any sense to me that they would want to confuse their own customers.

"Vendors can unfortunately pretty much label flavors as they choose"

I didn't know that vendors had that kind of power/control over another companies product. Somehow that just doesn't seem right to me.

"I see no sense in wasting energy over something I can not change."

Very wise statement. I totally agree, but hope you are not taking our exchange of information as being combative. I consider it a healthy exchange of ideas from different pov's,
even if you cannot provide supporting documentation.
BCF is a good example...FA Red Touch is labeled FlavourArt strawberry, FA Red summer is labeled FlavourArt watermelon. There are more examples but you get the gist.
Not feeling combative at all, just stating from my personal pov. I do actually agree with some of what you are saying. I am just pragmatic, it is what it is.

It's true we can do nothing to change it but it still makes no sense to me.

That's one of my pet peeves. Some talk about their 30/70 or 70/30 mix and we automatically assume it's pg first, then vg, but it's not. To be clear, I try to list PG first, then VG.

I need to look up and print some recommended flavor percentages. I know what works for me with my favorite flavors, but I buy new flavors and sometimes don't use them for months. When you start to search for what % people are mixing with a particular flavor you get all sorts of percentages. The manufacturer may recommend 5% to start and adjust to taste, but the actual forum recommendations that people post are all over the place. Then you run into the TFA/FA confusion.
Since I use high vg and see vg/pg on labels that is what looks normal to me. Labels are often higher %/lower % in most instances today. Frankly I find it easier and less confusing to just post 80vg. Then anyone reading will know my base %.

Just noticed my new bottle of TFA Peanut Butter from BCF is clearly labeled TFA.
Yes they are still using TFA. What I had to get used to when I first started ordering from them is they often don't use the brands name for the flavor. Now I'm used to it and have since realized since they order in bulk it could be the way the bulk containers are labeled.

We should fight that. It's internet slang. They can't have FA, it's already taken. The internet slang doesn't have to go along with their change that would create confusion.

Anything I can tweak in there?
Rat Snot (there is a reason for the name) All %
    FA apricot armenia 2
    Cap cucumber 3
    VTA persian lime 2.25
    Cap sweet mango .35
New recipe and haven't a clue how it will taste.

    Tangy SB CC
    INW biscuit .75
    FW cheesecake 3
    RF(SC) strawberry gelato 3.5
    Cap sugar cookie 1.5
    Cap sweet tangerine 3
This would be too sweet for you but the flavor profile might work for you. If I like the base will do another with raspberry-citrus. Should be good for tasting in a week or so.

The way I see it is it's their company and can do as they please. Since they put it out there as a heads up I'm good with it. They want the vendors to use Fa but some are using FA. Guessing it's the way they set up the program that prints the labels.

I'll be honest, I never knew that pg was supposed to be listed first. I just always write pg or vg after the number so there's no confusion.
Honestly it would be so much easier and imo clearer to just post one or the other.

    between here and there
Just noticed my new bottle of TFA Peanut Butter from BCF is clearly labeled TFA.
Every flavor under The Flavor Apprentice at BullCity is listed as TFA. Clearly at least they know their audience. lol
Whomever at The FlavorApprentice decided to make a logo with "Fa" clearly did themselves a great disservice as well as their customers. However, since the places I shop from are still listing TFA on websites/bottles, that is what I use and it is also clear they realize it and are not pushing the issue. And I hope TFA replaced that designer.....lol

    :)
