And @hittman to my knowledge there is no alcohol in FA juicy strawberry. If there was you would be able to smell it soon as you open the bottle.

Funny thing, I really loved FA Strawberry but I don't like their FA juicy strawberry.

Strawberry flavors are so very different for folks. There are people who just can't taste sberry in vape juices at all. I know some who have tried the Alpine sberry who couldn't taste sberry with any other flavor houses sberry's and love it. So go figure.

Fran only gets butter from caramel while I totally get caramel. We are all so very different when it comes to flavors. Each of us has to decide for ourselves what works best for us. In the end it's you and the juice you make that matters most. Right?
All I get from caramel is the sweetness

I am looking for discount code help.

Being my usual over-analytical (read "cheap") self, with too much time on my hands; I built a spread sheet of the 45 ingredients that have accumulated onto my wish list since last July. Using the smallest volume sold (10-15mL); I recorded regular retail, as well as sale (discount price). I also figured price/mL for both.

I have the Memorial Day discount for BCF (15%), and ECX (20% 25% ex. CAP), but I do not have any sales info for Nicotine River(NR), Nicotine Giant(NG), or Wizard Labs(WL).

So, I am looking for three things:
-- Does anyone know of any sales currently going on for NR, NG, or WL, this weekend?
-- Barring official Memorial Day sales; does anyone know of ongoing discounts (e.g. BCF's ECF06 for a everyday 6% discount)?
-- If there are both Memorial Day discount, and an ongoing discount; are they able to be combined (or is it a strictly "either/or")?

Sorry for being so specific; but I am trying to be as fair (and cheap;)) to each vendor as I can.
    :D

    EDIT:Correction: ECX sale is 25% (ex. CAP)(Thanks, @NotSoMini :thumb:)

Wizard Labs had their Memorial Day sale earlier in the week. As far as I know BCF coupons are not combinable it’s either or.

    Somewhere between here and there
This was posted to the DIYORDIE Mixers Group on FB tonight.

"Okay I just got off the phone with Joey at DIYFS, and it's some sad news. One of the manufacturers for his ingredients in Holy Holy Grail RY4, Holy Vanilla, and Gooey Butter Cake, is discontinuing one of the ingredients. He has a lot left tho, and said he would put V1 back up on the web, and asked me to blast to buy as much as you can now. It will go to V2 when he runs out. I feel so bad for him. SFTs will happen tonight for comparison and I will post results. Smell test is not bad, just not as rich.

UPDATE: SFT done with 10% flavor in max VG, tested on Recurve single coil of Ni80 Fused Clapton & Cotton Bacon:
Holy Vanilla V2 tastes good, mellow, no off notes, but lacks the cake-was in my mouth-like goodness of V1 and the depth of aroma. V2 is ever so slightly sweeter, smooth, and imo will work just fine, so ALL IS NOT LOST. It has been suggested by others, that the possible change is in the loss of DAAP, but that is theory only! The creator, Joey at DIYFS, is not going to discuss that with anyone outside of his business."

If you want original Holy Vanilla, buy it now. There is a coupon through Memorial Day for 20% off - memorial20. If you LOVE it, now is your chance to get a BIG bottle.

Thanks for the information. I grabbed a couple big bottles.

I am in the minority as far as buying from ECX so buy with caution as there are those that think they are more expensive. For myself, I have not found this to be the case so far based on what I have purchased from them.. As far as ongoing discounts, I am sure there are others however here is what I have. I have no idea how long they are good for so if I do buy I enter the code, if I remember, to see what happens:

    Chef Flavours — TheKitchen — 10%
    ECX — ELRECIPES —10%
    LNW — ELRECIPES — 15%
    LB — ELRECIPES — 15%
    Wizard Labs — MAGIC10

The ECX discount is 25% except CAP good through May 27 with code MEMORIALDAY25:

I’ve only ordered from ECX a few times for flavors that I couldn’t find at bcf. I honestly didn’t pay any attention to price because I didn’t want to order overseas. When I order flavors I can’t find elsewhere then I get a 30ml bottle even if I haven’t tried it.

Hello dear mixologists I have sinned, I have not even THOUGHT about making a mix in over a week. This weekend I might try the other half of my Chef's one shots, though. I sort of feel like I SHOULD make some things from scratch but brain has been in overdrive, it hurts.

All is still weird on the work front. Better, but SUPER weird. My theory now is all the administrators are all holding back, placing bets on who will crack first. It ain't gonna be me. That is for sure. I am so Zen now I am the sound of one hand clapping. If I can make it a competition, well, I win those.

ASK anyone? LOL I stopped entering competitions no time.

Nothing wrong with one shots. I’m loving the rhubarb custard and have been using it every day since I got it. The tarte au citron is good too. I’m just not liking it as much as the rhubarb. I’m still mixing a little here and there. I haven’t come up with an original recipe in ages.

Thank you. That was my understanding (re: combining) too. I had thought I saw Wizard already go by... but I had deleted the e-mail, and didn't see it in the Deals & Steals thread.:thumb:

Thank you, @NotSoMini. I appreciate you catching my ECX error. I have edited my previous post (and spreadsheet). And, thanks for the extra "ongoings" too.

I am the opposite. I bought 3 one-shots from Chefs and don't like any. Giving them a bunch more steeping time.I should try them again soon. Most of my mixes are my originals but I do have a few written down that come from others. Maybe I'll mix one of those when I get back home.

I don't know if this is still "popular opinion"... but, MF's concentration (super high) also gave them a reputation of being a serious PITA to work with ("one drop over and the recipe is shot" type of PITA), and were often recommended as "for expert DIYers only."

I have not personally tried to use them (cost again); and am only regurgitating what I have read by others. So, PLEASE, take it with a grain of salt. But, those that are thinking about experimenting with MF may want to do some research first.
All true IDJoel. I would add that I don't know of any source where there is general agreement on the use of MF flavors. Especially compared to what we know with the flavors we already use. There was a handful of folks on reddit who were working with MF but that died off. Some lost patience quickly and dropped out because of the PITA.

Open Source Vapor offered open source recipes using MF but they shut down a while back. They were able to figure out how to cut down steep times. Someone archived their recipes on ELR. If you are curious look up user Anonymiss and see the "Open Source Vapor- " recipes. There are 26 or so recipes from OSV there.

I did a one off 60ml single flavor test using MF strawberry and thought it was the most realistic of any strawberry. I did not dilute on the recommendation of someone I trust. I tested it after a few days steep and it tasted artificial. A week later it still tasted artificial and the same after two weeks. I found it developed into a realistic strawberry after three weeks. Someone I know doing the same 60ML side-by-side swore their single MF strawberry to be solid after five days. ??? We broke down our 60ml bottles into smaller bottles with the intent of developing something decent. We tried mixing with known flavors and both found we had no patience for it. MF to me means serious time and commitment. Learned a lot but in the end said no thanks. PITA.

I would never recommend MF flavors for DIY when there are so many wonderful flavors by the flavor companies we all use. You cannot think of MF in the same sense as TPA, CAP, FA etc. You would need to devote a lot of time in order to develop something decent.

To my knowledge Virgin Vapor is the only retail juice company using MF. VV does this for a living.

The PITA reputation is very real. I ended up using my MF strawberry to flavor drinking water.

    Wheeee !
I got my cases today !
Already got my flavorings put away in them - but not the 4oz bottles of course.
Now I can see what I have even tho I still have to spin the bottle to read the label.
    Way much nicer !
