Rebuilt the Stumpy. 26ga NiChrome, 3.8mm I.D. 8-9 wrap, 1.08Ω. Used the full strip of Sally's and just pulled/stretched it to get the right density. Running it at 40W right now and have about 10mL through it. So far so good... this is the largest coil I think I've ever built!

Just want to drop a quick note saying that after living with this Bachelor tank a few days I think it's my new favorite RBA even though I haven't actually rebuilt it yet. I know looks can be deceiving, but it looks stupid easy to rebuild. I'll probably only need to screw it up 4 or 5 times before I figure it out.

Flavor isn't the best of the best ever , but it's definitely top shelf. That opinion might need to be upgraded once I put a rayon build in it. Airflow is slightly restrictive (on par with my Kanger Subtank Plus), but not bad and I think it creates the perfect amount of negative pressure to keep the wick fully saturated even while chain vaping.

I haven't had a single drop of leaking or seeping of any kind and refilling it is super quick and easy.

I think it is good as well, however I cannot deal with how tight of a draw

6+ months ago it would have been the airiest single coil tank available. Lol. The flavor isn't quite as good as the FEV. On a side note I popped the top cap off on mine yesterday.. See here.. She's back in action after a repair..

Ha! I had a flashback to my dad, God rest his soul, saying: "See? That's why we can't have nice things. PAY ATTENTION!", but I would surely be jinxing myself if I gave you any crap about it...so I won't.

I have had the Bachelor for a bit now and this thing is a rayon CHAMP! Nice straight wick with pretty easy build deck. Will take some pics tomorrow. Running a 3mm 24 ga SS 10 wrap spaced coil at 50w 450f. Vapes quite nicely. Had my eye on this tank for a while, but a layoff foiled my plans. Even vaping a coil gunking juice, I got 2x the longevity. Have since moved back into DIY, so performance should improve greatly. Vaped two tanks of chocolate glazed donut (8ml) and wick/wire still looked new when I checked it this morning before heading out.

Yeah, probably going to do another build. I need to get it going. I want to get this thing going on a win.

Okay, so was gonna head to bed...but decided to pull my current wick. Been going back and forth between KGD cotton and rayon in a side by side taste test challenge. In my Griffin, KGD won out for ease of building while rayon won out in flavor. Durability was a push. The coil gunked just as quickly in a dual coil 3mm 24 ga Ti 8 wrap spaced. If I have time to fiddle, win goes to rayon. In a hurry to build and get out, win goes to KGD.

Now on to the current daily driver, the Bachelor. Just pulled the wick, dry fired and rinsed my single 3mm 24 ga SS 10 wrap spaced:

Next, rolled up some Kotex U rayon (thank god for Smith's self checkout):

Trimmed and primed with juice:

In this setup, once the coil is primed, I fire it and blow across until it begins to dry. Repeat twice, assemble tank and fill. Saves the whole break in process. The first vape is usually pretty good.

With the Bachelor being so much easier to build on, rayon wins all around in my book. Flavor is better and less fiddling with tails and density. This tank is born for rayon!

Haven't converted my old Helios or Freakshow drippers to rayon just yet. Now that I'm on a DIY spree, they are next. Would imagine the advantages for flavor testing.

Great pictures! I don't know if it's an optical illusion or not, it looks like the center of your coil may be slightly smaller I.D. And get larger as it goes out. If so, that will effect the longevity of the wick as it's the tightest right at the center. Just my observation.
I think you feel the cotton is faster because you are just starting with rayon. Once you get it down like I'm sure you have the cotton, it will be just as fast bro! I understand using the Kotex would slow you down. I would be happy to send you some Sally's just pm me.
Glad to see you are really liking rayon so far.
As for drippers. I love it. You get a mild warning when running dry, then flavor change is almost instant!!:toast:

Hey how's it going river guy, I hope to be back on the river in the next two weeks.. :2cool:

It looks as though I use more density in my 2.5mm coil... Was it rolled tight? That ku must be some good stuff. I don't think the amount in that particular coil would stay in contact after the first day. Remarkable if it goes over a day or two at 50w. Might check it for full contact in the coil later. Try to use more density next time and see how that does.

For comparison -

Your 3mm coil, ku

My 2.5 mm coil, dm/tidi

Might be a little snug but it's only 2.5 mm.

Eciggity is the spot, a dollar more than FastTech most the time. My evic and bachelor both came from eciggity. Been very happy with my Orders
Buy from eciggity if you can. I know slowtech takes PayPal... But...

Jeremy's wicks look like a slush, overflowing, his coil is symetrical, do what you can to replicate it and you will be happy!

With this setup do you still thin the tails? It's hard to tell, it looks very fluffy.
