Do you get a hot spot where the pliers mangled the coil a bit?

Looks like a good build, very symmetrical.

Thanks for the kudos 54. We all get lucky once in a while.

What looks like mangling on that upper coil leg is actually a little strand of rayon with tiny juice drops on it. Crappy phone pics.

So I took a coil out of the Griffin and put the ceramic cap on. This made it easier on wicking one side. It went ok, I think I trimmed one side a little longer than the other but only slightly. Hopefully it will wet the wick and coil even. The main thing is no leaks!

I still hate that dang little ring thing.

So far I've been hitting every 10 minutes or so. Back to back hits aren't giving me the flavor I desire. But I'm trying folks, I'm trying.

still rocking my bachelor, no leaks, 30mls/day. 150-250ml b4 rewicking.
rayon is still good after all those mls but coil is too gunked up so the need to dryburn the coil.
i recoil at about 3-4 months
bachelor + rayon is great for the lazy diy vaporer, thats me.

edit. i meant 250-500ml b4 rewicking, i forgot i now use a bigger mixer bottle, it holds 250ml so i easily go through one bottle for sure

Hey vincom, you got that right on the lazy vaper. Last time I rewicked was a few months ago. 300ml on this wick by now, and funny i plan on recoiling it tonight this build is too weak.

Hey tinman!

Off the top of my head id say you need to give it a bit more power possibly.

Just leave enough tail to fill the wells lightly and you should be good. If it Leaks - leave more tail. If it still leaks look for missing orings.

Jeremy Can I please use some of your information to debunk another lot of dribble on another forum.

This is what is being used as a reference

View attachment 608799

Hi @Krisma . !

You sure can, its all for you guys.

That reference is awfully childish... It means nothing whatsoever. Its definately laughable!!

I mean this is elementary science. Its CO - carbon monoxide. Yes when many things burn they emit CO. ( including of course cigarettes!) Cotton, wood, a camp fire, ect. So thats all they proved, cotton and rayon, ect give of co when burned. Obviously we dont burn it. And as we know cotton burns readily and rayon doesnt, its actually hard to get it to burn while vaping because the coil will overheat and burn juice before rayon even burns.

*** So...

Signed, sealed, delivered - they endorsed and proved simply thay rayon is safer than cotton. They really can't win...:thumb:

It just rewicked it and used so little tail that I was sure it would leak. About 15% on the tails left. Just lightly tucked them, layer them over the well/channel and it is not leaking and hitting like a beast.

yup, i'll even go back into my build and thin the tails more if i feel theyre not wicking right, even if its wet w/juice its easy to work on

Good deal. I'm getting a bubble from one juice hole and not the other. The side I'm getting the bubble from is wicked a touch thinner, so thin I knew it would leak but didn't. The other side no bubble so I may open it up and trim a little off.

Bingo! LOL

Great, glad to hear that.. :headbang:

I know the feeling, ive got my own little Beastie right now. Fresh build.

So your luck turned around, I guess all it takes is to stop by and hang out for a while.. Glad you took my advice, in the saying about so much so little, and it worked for you. :)

Its not a deal breaker if you see one side only bubble. As long as it feeds and you have no problem vaping relax and enjoy it!! I mean if its not broke dont mess with it yet, if you loosen the other side it may cause a problem.

I would just wait and see a minute, then next fill open it and look at the tail colors to see if you have enough imbalance to cause an issue.

Sounds like your on the right track for sure.

I just read another thread about Native Wicks. Sounds like rayon from the OP. Is it?

Sounds like fine cotton 3.00 a foot. Cotton is cotton and can never be rayon. As much as they try to make it like rayon its not. Remember when people are talking its usually relative to the cotton they have been using. "wow i took 5 hits no burnt taste" nothing special.

I've been hanging here quite a while since I saw @Kaezziel signature link. Probably read about 250 pages of the original thread, lol. I've been wicking my RDAs with rayon for a month or so. Just trouble with the Griffin 25 and I think I've got it 85% figured out. @kross8 helped a bunch and @whiteowl84 gave me some good advice last night.

Thanks for the thread and the hard work you've put in. It's working. I'm learning to love it!

Native Wicks is what I was using before rayon. It's cotton. It's actually a very nice, high quality cotton, with all the threads running parallel. But it doesn't compare to rayon.

You're right. The platinum version is very good. Better than bacon.
It's a blend of fibers and it feels different than most cotton. Softer and fluffier.
But it's nothing like rayon.

Long time no see. Still using Rayon 100% of the time. That Native Wicks stuff is definitely cotton. I didn't even like it when I used cotton, but that's me for ya. KGD all the way - til Rayon. Now the KGD is lonely, I hear its cried from the dresser at night...
