Finally received my lifetime supply of Rayon today. Stuck some in the dual deck I was running on the Exo and it tastes pretty good, almost too intense. Going to have to dial the flavors back a little bit.
....
That, and I can taste all of the flavors I mixed into my juice now.
....
I even had to turn my wattage down because my vape was transmitting so much flavor at once.
....
All in all, definitely worth trying. I'm still shocked I don't need as much power to get this much flavor out of the same juice that was tasting muted in cotton.

Good timing.. You posted that at just about the time I was thinking of posting this. :)

I had been trying to get rid of some remaining Japanese cotton. Since I had trouble with it just going to waste and throwing it away.

Now that it's finally gone, and I'm back to Rayon now.. All I can say is that it's GREAT to back with Rayon again! .... SOOO much better flavor, SOOO much more fulfilling vapor! Like night and day.

I should have just thrown that remaining Japanese cotton away! :nah:

Finally landed some more wire. I really need to buy a damn drill or a Daedalus.

Anyway, I wicked a big fat cord of rayon into the Hadaly this morning and took a simple approach that really seems to work well.

1) Cut the tails, but left long
2) Fluffed the tails and then smoothed them back together, removing only the really loose stuff.
3) with the wick tails horizontal, I put my scissors around the wick and into the Hadaly deck from the top, at roughly a 45° angle.
4) Tails trimmed to size
5) Tucked em in, good to go.

Super easy and splits the difference. I get a similar chamber restriction as with cotton thanks to the shape of the tails once set, and a couple of quick snips thins the tails by a solid 60%.

Happy Sunday, Rayonites!

Well peeps, sorry for the long furlough. Been busy with other hobbies and different job.

So yes I'm still vaping, yes with Rayon every day - all day. Yep, I'm still alive - best health ever actually.. Been into my natural health kick, doing really great.

So geez finally did a rewick, used the same wick since mid June in the TFgs3.. Must have at least 300ml through it.. Set up the mk2 genny the other day, will post pics later.

Origen Genesis MK2

3 mm coil installed and formed, the wick holes are 3.5mm.. then removed and wick it in hand, trim the tails at sharp angle, wet it down and it fits right in. 26g, .4 ohms

It's vaping real great at 50w. Keeps up and I can vape the mini 5ml tank to the end. This thing is ultra small and light for holding 5ml.

Yeah so if you guys have noticed, my biggest fear has happened.

Photobucket ruined the internet!

Some how I have avoided having my photos blocked, all the thousand photos I've posted in the forum are hosted by photobucket. If they catch on it will all be blocked!!

I think they should be sued to the max for this, it's censorship. Luckily I haven't been caught in the net. Literally it's a disgrace.

Everywhere around other forums all you see is the dumb pb please pay 400/yr to get your photos out of jail. Fn bs!

A couple thoughts..
Either thin the tails a bit, but not much - and/or don't overstuff the coil as much. I personally think the preached 'overstuff' and 'thin you're tails' sermon to be a bit overemphasized/overrated.

But I think I understand you're concern now.. You want fat tails no matter what, and as with my Narda deck, it can be a bit cramped to fit all that wick in there without bending the coil a bit. To help with that, I use an angled fine-point tweezers and only stuff a bit in at a time - thereby not bending the coil much, if at all. Do a Gearch (Google search - I'm trying to get that caught-on :)) on "ESD-15" and you'll see the tweezers I'm talking about. I've ordered several of those, as I don't want to ever be caught without one on-hand.

Of course, another direction to go, is be like me and get wire by the 500/1000 feet, and don't worry as much about coil longevity. Either that or go with stainless steel wire at 28 guage or thicker.. That stuff is MUCH more durable than any of the other wire types.
For those rda's, I simply don't pack the coil tightly. Maybe others find differently, but personally I think the stated need to overpack the coils is overemphasized/overrated.

Like with my fleet of authentically challenged Marquis.. I'll just use whatever works best. I don't notice any difference from not having tightly packed rayon, myself.

The reason you see this is - when rayon started atomizers were completely old and restrictive. We're taking evods.

As times have changed, mega juice flow and air are the normal. You can get away with less trimming of the tails. It's all relative to the atties juice flow and power levels. As well as coil size.

With that said in the beginning I also used 32 gauge and had no problems getting rayon in whatsoever. Hold the coil with your fingers or nails at the end.. Just use a mini screw driver to evenly space and realign the coils afterwards. Or use the double insertion method.

Amount of wick and tails is all relative to your vape style.

At 30w in newer rtas it really almost doesn't matter how you do it. The lower the power the more you can get away with a looser wick.

Lol, nah its working just fine for me.. :)

So I got a really big vape problem...

My newer yellow evic spiked out... then the other day my ipower also spiked out.. I have no backup left and am now on a pen with the bachelor coiled to 1.4ohms. Sucks.... Apparently the charger I used has a problem. The charging port is smoked on the mods.

Now looking to go to a removable battery mod. :( .. I've got 5 of these lipo mods that are nearly useless now. Done with joyetech and eleaf now...

So I'm looking to go all in on 20700 mods.. anything I should know I may have missed. I just ordered the 2070 ocean mod and a luc charger from MVS. Looking at ordering the ijoy captain 2070 mod later today from eciggity for my daily carry.

Stoked the 20700 gigfactory battery we talked about last year is now available.

I really liked the paramormal mod, looks really great but can't have the Satan symbols on my mod. Shouldn't have to grind a $130 mod. I'm out regardless. Rayonati is against lies, fake news, and satan.

If you are looking for a good TC vape totally forget the Captain, iJoy hasn't a clue how TC is supposed to work. With the "latest" updated firmware, it will fire your coil at full power (200W+) if the TCR is a bit off...

I built a PWM mod using 20700's and absolutely love it. Alpinetech GXL case, Big Al iPWM board, 20700 sled, Varitube 30mm 510, a switch and a voltmeter.

It is a little big and has no fancy features, set your desired voltage and hit the button. It was a fun little DIY project and not all that expensive. The GXL case has rounded sides and no lean like the old Hammond boxes.

That Oceanus looks like a decent mod, I haven't read any reviews of it though.

No I disbanded temp Control a long time ago, so just want good battery life and power. I did read the tc was bad. Really just want a good look, power and life.

And something that isn't going to crap out on me.. unfortunately I don't care for a lot of these gaudy mods, or the huge bricks.

Now is the time I wish I had a MECH ! :)

Sitting down, facing forward.
Jeremy, you may want to revisit TC and I'd suggest DNA, Evolv, chips/boards. There is a major safety gain by using TC, for example I can vape and all stainless FEV3 bone dry and never get a burned or dry hit, the vapor just stops. Additionally, there is evidence that aldehydes increase, dramatically, above 450F and are primarily generated by VG. If I remember correctly, you vape high VG liquids. It's up to you and your own vaping style and preferences but I would feel remiss if I didn't mention this.

ditto, i have 9 mods in my rotation right now and all are in tc mode with ss wire. It is especially convenient with the rda if I can't remember how many pulls I took after dripping last time I used it (which may have been yesterday).

I was a fairly early adopter of TC and I've used it exclusively since then. It's great for being able to avoid dry hits even if you run your rayon dry. TC has come a long way since it first came out, so if you haven't tried it in a while you should give it another chance.
