I'm not dead yet, but I do feel AWFUL today. LOL, that's more sleep deprivation from trying to adjust to a later schedule, I have a feeling than rayon.

I didn't vape cotton for that long, but I vastly prefer rayon and it's the only material that works well for me and the first material that I was able to vape with correctly.... I'm so glad a member here sent me some to try!

I don't see that properly handled and processed rayon should present a huge problem as a vape material, though. My understanding is that rayon is PROCESSED from cotton, which means it is "synthetic" in the sense that it's basically the cellulose from wood or cotton pulp, so it may actually be "cleaner" in some ways, but there is a manufacturing process which turns it into "synthetic" fiber. So, as long as the processing is done in a clean environment and the rayon you use is high quality, there isn't going to be any huge health issue. They make tampons out of rayon (that you can use for vaping, BTW, should you desire, I do NOT) but the fact is, I wouldn't be inserting anything in THAT place that well.... I can't think of a good way to end that sentence that just doesn't.... It's fine. Let's just leave it at, "If you get good quality rayon, it is TOTES fine."

People are so divided on it: some cannot tell any difference from cotton while some swear by rayon.

I see it as the people who didn't like rayon didn't wick the coil properly and yes rayon can be a turnoff with its breakin taste if not tight enough.
Other than rayon superior wicking ability compared to cotton. Sitting down every couple days to rewick a cotton build vs week or more with rayon. After its all said and done pulling out blackened crispy cotton wick out of the coil, rinsing it off being still black and crisp and smell the burnt. Rayon long after the coil has cocooned with gunk, pull the wick out, rinse and its barely browned, soft and pliable looking ready to be used again....one can easily swear by rayon.

I've been vaping exclusively for 4 1/2 years, but I hadn't been vaping that long with cotton before I tried rayon, so I don't really remember how cotton was to vape with. What I do remember is that when I tried rayon I had a "wow moment" and I never went back to cotton. I threw away all my cotton and have been a Rayonati ever since. That should tell you something about the superiority of rayon.

I was rebuilding my CE4 clearos with silica then some ekowool. Protank rebuilding was also silica then ekowool and I think that lasted for many months enjoying the vape. I heard about using cotton so I snagged the swab off a Qtip, wicked into a protank and was blown away..silica shelved that day. Got mighty tired of rewicking protanks for 2 vapers every other day(this was before I began DIY). I just happen to get the last bag of hemp fiber from a coop in here then began to use that cause it lasted somewhat longer than cotton even though it had to be "prepared" by removing the shards and bunnies. So my cotton journey maybe lasted a few months but hemp lasted almost 2 years.
I then read some about this rayon....hmmm...intresting. I then went to all the hairdressers in town to find this fiber and found it, she had the box 44060 so I explained and got a few feet off of her. GAME CHANGER, by this time I was beginning to DIY so began to use the rayon and OMG great vape. Went to visit my son and there was a sallys beauty in their city so I walked out of that store with 500 feet of nirvana and a smile on my face. That was 2+ years ago
I've sent care package of rayon to about a dozen different people who don't really have access other than the internet including someone in the UK and all of them were blown away with rayon.
I will rave and rave then rave some more over rayon cause there are so many who are selling themselves short by not giving rayon the proper chance or just don't want to try it. After vaping, rebuilding almost 5 years I have lost the novelty of rebuilding and now just want something of quality and that lasts.

I'm exactly the same except I have been vaping for 4 years and 2 months. I think I only used cotton a couple of times before I found the rayon thread. I'm now into my second 40' box of Graham's Cellucotton. I have over 20 attys to rewick which shows how long rayon lasts...only just on my second box in over 4 years

@TrollDragon my SXK Entheon rda arrived today  we’re having a blizzard in N.J.

Any tips for me on building & wicking? ;)
Winter hurricane here in N.S. too, stay safe!

Sweet!

I build and wick the Entheon the same way as the Hadaly. Using 6 wraps of AVS' 28Gx2/34G SS316L Clapton on 3mm. I have the legs come from the bottom up to the clamps, that way I can push the coil down for tension. ;)

I comb out the Rayon tails, cut them at the edge of the base, then tuck in and down to the deck. :thumb:
