Entheon looks nice, but I think I'll stay with the Wasp Nano for now -- just a sweet little single coil flavor chaser. Easy build/install, and my twisted 26 kanthal coils have no problem being stuffed with rayon wick. It works great on the pulse bf (soft bottle and large cutout make squok control easy -- I did originally over-squonk the nano on other mods, tactile feedback is much better on the pulse).

Rayon contnues to be an it-just-plain-works-well wick for me. I was really lucky to find out about it soon after I started building my own coils, since my cotton wicks were pretty consistently poor :)
What are the specs for the build you use with Twisted 26g Kanthal for your Nano? I recently got mine & haven’t built it yet.

Rayon for the win for sure! I built & wicked my single coil deck for my Aromamizer Supreme v2 with rayon since receiving it, it’s been so long I forgot when & it’s still going strong  haven’t needed a rewick. Looked up the approximate date should’ve been early November.

2.5mm ID, spaced coil, 4 wraps for the pulse bf mech. I use the Sanyo 20700b battery, good run time for coils in the 0.4+ ohm zone.

On a regulated mod I would use 5 wraps. Twisted 26 kanthal is all I use.

Thanks ! I have the Sanyo 20700b’s also & I agree on the run time with .4 ohms on the Pulse bf mod.

I got a nice box of rayon as part of my Christmas "experience" LOL. Should be good to go for a while now :)

Merry Christmas Rayonatti, I am so glad I became one :)

Anna
I recently did the same. Been using the 40ft box for 16 months or so and probably wont run out until spring or summer but to be safe I grabbed 500' more.

Hey @JeremyR and Rayonatis. I read most of Part 1 and all of Part 2 (whew!). I don't yet have rayon, but will soon. Thanks for all the posts, info, and most importantly, pictures. I think I have a really good idea of how to wick this now, thanks to all the info contained in these 2 threads. I look forward to playing with rayons and wires and attys once I can get it all together in the same place :thumb:

(Yeah, I've tried SS mesh, hemp, BD13, silica, et al)

I took that 500 footer and cut it into large ziplock bags anywhere from 50-75 foot lengths and they fit back in the box nicely, then have a smaller bag in the box also I take from to replenish the supply at my desk. The dust from opening and closing the flimsy bag provided will make the rayon dirty eventually and the ziplocks prevent that.

Been using the same box of Sally's since June of 2014 and still love Rayon. Once or twice a year I'll load up some cotton that comes with an atty, and I still find that cotton just does not cut it. Flavor, wick duration, cost, any way you want to gauge it. Rayon is superior in every way. I just don't understand why everyone does not use it.
My salute to those who have found it and still use it!

I don't get it either, but I guess it's different stuff for different people. I find it has high longevity as well... Usually I know to rewick if I start getting seepage, but usually the wick has broken somewhere inside my coil and it's somewhat gunked, but we are talking a week or so, vs every day. As a "reluctant" RTA user (though I do now really enjoy them since wicking is less of a chore) I have to say I'm so pleased with it.

I guess with that said, some people find that kind of success with cotton, but I think it's hard to argue that wicking longevity isn't better with rayon.... Of course, for some folks who've been using RTAs forever, they really have their wicking skills down. I'm lazier than that (although I do feel I have a decent handle on wicking at the right time of day... .LOL, after 4 p.m. I won't try rewicking ANYTHING, but I sing rayon's praises all the time :)

Sitting down, facing forward.
I've been rebuilding some atomizers sort of on a wholesale basis this week. Keep in mind I have eight mods in daily use with another half dozen atomizers to swap to if needed. Anyhow, one I rebuilt had last been rebuilt in June and another in March of this year. My estimate is that they both had 200-300ml through them. Yeah, the coils were getting pretty gunked, but each wrap was still visible and the wicks were intact inside the coils. These are Aromamizers, V1 and V2, with 3mm coils in them. The liquids have very low levels of sweetener or no sweetener, too, which also is a big advantage.

I suspect the broken wicks are a result of your vaping style, Stols. I find the same thing with my wife's atomizers. She is a tootle puffer and takes a "double" hit. Her mods are all DNA so over temperature isn't a factor. Maybe I'll move her off of the Foggers, V4.1 and V6, and on to Aromamizers to see if that stops happening.

My wife "double hits" if were talking about the same thing. She's a higher ohm tootle puffer(1.6-1.8ohm) and can burn a single 28 or 30 gauge single wire build for it getting too hot on her. She takes a smaller hit then inhales while still holding down the power then takes another larger hit. I've tried to break her of that but my efforts were futile. With the 30K/34K clapton it saves the coil. I lowered the power a bit so her first small hit is more-or-less ramp up time so the coil is ready for her 2nd larger hit. I think she would go back to burning the build if I go into finer wrap wire other than 34 for her. The rayon too also help extend the life of her coils, her style of vaping gunks up and/or burns cotton very quickly so I was rebuilding a lot more often.
I also don't use any sweeteners in my juices the VG is plenty sweet and I have absolutely no drymouth nor drink excessively to quench the thirst. My wife's juice has 3/4% cotton candy mixed with 4% tobacco and IMO its quite sweet but she gets well over 100mls to a build and again its the coil that cocoons but her rayons still got plenty more miles left.
I am so suprised that more vendors don't sell chunks of rayon like they sell cotton, there'd be oodles more people who would shelve that cotton and use only rayon.

Yup, that's exactly what she does. I may look at reducing the "time out" in Escribe and see if that helps. Her liquids are also much sweeter than what I use as well, so gunking is a problem and I rebuild her stuff on a monthly basis.

Miss Stols....you may have too much rayon in the coil, sometimes if there is too much, the middle of the coil gets less juice and that's where it will break... I have had them break in the middle when the wick was getting too old(like after a month). I generally wick enough in it to barely nudge a fused Clapton when I pull through it. I hope this helps

Alter: My wife will hit the button a second before she hits it and keep the button pressed for a second after she stops. Cant get her to stop. I am lucky if she gets 10 days before I have to rewick it. She only uses one atty so I suppose that's really good. But, I feel your pain
