Given how stubborn and ornery folks are about change, it's no wonder marketing departments were created. I saw a person on this forum claim the other day that rayon is no better than any ordinary wicking! Heresy I tell you.
Well at least it wasn't called Dacron like an ECF member did for a while... 2 pages of results if you search for Dacron.

And why would one? I mean, longer wick life, better taste, easier to do. I might've given up on RTAs if not for rayon, seriously,

I mean, I HATED cotton plus I mean there's something about cotton that I just couldn't imagine how it would hold up a bunch of juice. Get a nice pair of heavy duty nylon pantyhose..... You will feel differently about the substance. LOL.

But for each thing, there must be its opposite thing, and I hear there are these strange people who find rewicking relaxing and stuff. I'm not really one of them, I do not possess the talent of watching TV as I causally re-wick my rta.

When I was growing up "multitasking" was a "good" thing. Supposedly. Then they found out it doesn't work, etc.

My 40ft box of Sally's non-reinforced rayon coil has lasted me about 3 years, best I can tell. I still have enough to take me through the end of 2019, maybe longer. I pull off a foot or two and put it in a zip lock for rewicking. The box stays in a larger zip lock in the vape cabinet.

Gosh I'll take it off your hands @Wayneo if it's that much of a burden to you. LOL.

Can I be in your will too? ;)

I, too, got the big box, but long before I stumbled into this thread, so can't pin it down at all.

Split out into gallon zip locks, in an attempt to keep the cat hair out. Quart size for more frequent use, and that gets snipped to about 2" lengths and I fill a cleaned out Altoid tin for working stock at my build station.

Pif'd a bunch, still have a knapsack full of gallon bags.

Watching TV is where I actually do my rewicking/ building, but it takes me a while as I keep having to rewind my DVR. I must look like a weirdo because I have to wear the mag visors and as I turn to watch tv, I'm constantly flipping the visor

Learned double insertion from awsum140, and my tensioned coils from Russ.

    Do tell...

ETA: googled tension coils, on that when I can make a jig.

I'm guessing double insertion is using a half strand to pull a second through, to get better squeek?

Now if we could get some braided, around a core of fluffed rayon, like that ecowol(so?) stuff....
I don't understand how that would help.

Ecowool was a PITA to get threaded into a coil. You pretty much had to wind the coil around the wick. I tried it at one point (before rayon) and wasn't impressed.

It would, if wick-able, keep juice saturation to the coil at maximum, and flow to the sheath at a high rate due to the core being thinned like a tail through the coil. In theory, but I'm just thinking outside Schroeder's box right now...

I used to love ekowool... I always used 2 pieces of it hand wrapped in everything I vaped.

I'm going to try it in my doggies and Dvarw tomorrow. Should be interesting...

    Where can I get rayon?
Meet me (and Brian?) for coffee in Vape Augustine sometime and I''l bring you some. Not the skanky Grahams stuff either, but Tidi medical grade balls. I'm about 20 miles south down A1A.
