The only TC mod I have is an istick 40. I don't think I'll be doing TC. From what I understand the SS 430 works well in wattage mode. I think I will give it a try.
I have one too, and my SS430 will be here Friday. The beauty of SS is you can use it with TC and Non-TC. I'm pretty excited to give it a try.

It works great in TC mode on my IPV4 and great in non-TC on my Sigelei 150w, but my iStick 40 with its 40 watt only capability doesn't do so well with my .4 ohm coil. It's just too hot for me at that power.

You're talking about TC mode on the I 40 right?

Sorry, that was dumb.

Dialing the temp. back won't work to cool it down? I haven't used TC at all so I'm a DA at this.

I just tried turning my temp down from 300 to 200 and it's better. Not as hot now. I did notice that my .41 coil in non-TC is reading .33 on TC. Apparently it was locked on a previous build. Whatever...it works.

At 70 years old, I don't know why I felt funny walking in Sally's.:)

It's not like I'll be going back in there in another week or two though. lol 500 ft.
I'm half your age and felt the same way. Girl at the counter looked at me funny and asked me why I was buying it. When I explained it was to wick my dripper I'm pretty sure her head exploded. [emoji33] She said her boyfriend has an e-cigarette and would have to tell him about it.

OMG...brain fart!!! My iStick was reading in Celcius!! No wonder it was so hot. It's hard to read those small letters. I turned it to Fahrenheit and I'm now getting a perfectly good vape at 320F.

So, yes, @Canno, you can use your SS wire on your iStick 40 in TC mode. Duh.....

I was the first one to purchase Delasco balls for rayon wicking before Sally's was discovered as a source. I'm still using the same bag and I've probably still got nearly half the bag left. I can't imagine why anyone would use anything other than rayon for wicking.

I don't see the SS 430 on Steam Engine. Is the resistance per inch or foot anywhere close to kanthal?

I couldn't find it either, so I just guessed. I wrapped my coils on a 3/32 screwdriver (2.38 mm) and they came out between 3.9 and 4.1 ohms using 10 wraps.

Oops...another brain fart. I was using dual coils, so each coil was double that.
I need to shut up and go to bed.
