I started squonking less than a month after I started vaping. Threw out my other stuff and never looked back. Turning drippers into tanks = where it's at IMO. No fiddling with tanks, no dripping, no mess...just fresh, trouble free vapes.

For a long time I was an oddball out of sorts but it seems like squonking is "catching on" these days. As someone who's been solely squonking over 2 years I wonder what took so long :D

Sitting down, facing forward.
My experiment in dripping hasn't been very good. I bought a Kanger DB160 on a whim and wish I had bought another Disguiser instead. The TC is a joke, regulation is rough pulses so I use it in power mode only. The squonk bottles impart a "lovely" plastic taste into every liquid I've tried, and that's after multiple soaks and cleans using everything from 91%PGA to peroxide to distilled water letting them soak for a week at a time. I only use tobacco flavors so the liquids aren't, or shouldn't, be reacting to the bottles.

The atomizer the DB160 comes with should be sold as a wire cutter. One shot at trying to get coils into that POS without cutting the wire while tightening up the grub screws was more than enough for me. I have an Aromamizer V on it and the build just isn't all that great. I don't have any motivation to try a different build, it's the same build that works really well in my Aromamizer RTAs. Weak output, weak flavor and pushing the power up only produces burnt flavor.

Yeah, it's nice, but just isn't worth the PITA and off flavor it's produced for me.

Sounds to me like a cheap device using cheap bottles made in China.

My 2c:
I have a Merlin and love it! I do get some seepage, but not a terrible amount. I can't find the thread where the 2 sockets are used to tighten up the base tho (someone link plz?). I'm having a hard look at the siren as well, I might just have to get one. I'm waiting to start hearing about issues with it tho, so we'll see.

not sure what page but somewhere in this thread it is explained a few times and once with pics IIRC - Merlin by Augvape and Roxy

Well I know I won't care for it, I had put the bachelor up because of it.. I hear the Merlin mini isn't pressed and they will be coming out with a long mode. I may take that.

The siren.. I know, that's what kinda started me looking. I was interested in the Fuji for quite some time. Siren looks nice, I did find it for as low as 21, probably should have jumped on that. My concern was the Chamber in the juice heating it, guess juice goes quick anymore, I think it would be a good tank.. Wish I had one now. Lol

I actually decided last night to get an old school genny , one I can run a vertical single coil instead of all the new horizontal coil gta's.

So next is going to be an Origen v2 mkII .. it should fit the bill beautifully. Looks pretty bad ... and holds 6ml .

Not worth bothering with KB, mine had a little seepage again this AM when I took it off the G2. I never did break the base apart to check o-rings, others have and it doesn't seem to matter much.

So for me it didn't solve the issue, like @Heartsdelight, I'll continue giving it a wipe.

I did put a 4mm 8 wrap 22g Kanthal coil in it for laughs last night and the Merlin handles it very well! Running at 60W/480F TC on the G2 provides a nice dense vape.

A most excellent vape!

I never did bother getting the MKII and haven't had the old Origenny out in a long time.

Good luck with it, the best flavor is with a mesh build IMHO.

Yeah I read the entire thread that @Fozzy71 linked to & as far as I can read no one has permanently solved the seeping issue, so beyond tapping it with the 2 sockets which temporarily fixes it I didn't bother either with taking the base apart. Just wipe & keep on vaping.

Any thoughts on the Noisy Cricket II? With Black Friday & Cyber Monday coming it probably can be had for cheap.
I was looking at those as well. It could be a decent mod for series use with the adjustable output up to 6V, and the parallel looks to be much safer than the first version.

I'll stick with my regulated boxes though.

Flavor bomb at 32w with a small clappies in there..... trust me. Still, it doesn't lend itself to rayon compatibility very well as tail thinning is not possible with vert coil(s). The coil ID needs to be slightly smaller than the wick holes to feed the wick all the way through. Still works good but I prefer the Aspire Quad Flex over all other dual coil gennies or RDTAs out there.
In general RDTAs (Genesis style) tanks solve the leaking problems many RTAs suffer from, both from loose press fit parts and top fill air compression issues but some of them suffer from the same excessive vacuum problems as RTAs do.
The Avocado, L+, Ijoy Combo and other similarly designed RDTAs offer great flavor, RDA flavor even, but if the juice channels or holes are over wicked the juice flow slows and vapor/flavor diminishes. The tanks just hold too much vacuum in that case. If under wicked they pour out juice when tipped sideways.
Aspire has solved this problem by drilling tiny air bleed holes through the deck of the Quad Flex to keep the vacuum in the tank from becoming excessive. The result is an RDA that requires no dripping or squonking, never leaks a drop and isn't sensitive at all to wick tail density. It holds almost 3ml of juice. For me and my high-ish power level chain vaping it's the best I've found even though I have to fill it more often than most of my RTAs and squonker bottles.

Really, the quad flex is that good huh. Good to know. Haven't focused on it real close, thought it was just a gimmick. I did see the tiny hole on the deck. I'll have another look at it.

I've done rayon in a rsst with about 20% tail going down the hole with no problems, taking those issues you mention into account. My buddies been using it for months. Guess it depends how much power your running.
