25 watts isn't anywhere near 75 watts in heat generation, the difference is when the coil is wet not dry. I have vaped a 32g 1.2 ohm parallel coil @ 6v (stacked 350's in my VAMO) and I have vaped a triple twisted 32g parallel coil @ 0.3 ohms on my mech...nowhere near the same in heat generation, the 0.3 ohm build is much much hotter.

Cotton takes the heat just fine, it just has to be juicier than rayon to do so.

i STRONGLY disagree with your statement about cotton is juicier.......

ive vaped rayon in every sub-ohm level you want to talk about....... rayon is hands down more jucier

either you havnt used rayon ......
havnt wicked it correctly.....
dont know what you are talking about....
or are just trolling for confrontation......

rayon is more jucier......
done deal......
end of story.....
this argument cannot be broken

Don't think he said it was juicer, just that it needed to be in order not to burn.

54 ....ive scoured the net for an hour and have looked at least 50-60 websites and there is not a shred of evidence that
cotton is more absorbent than rayon.

in fact, the opposite is true....overwhelming evidence that rayon is more absorbent than cotton

argument can not be broken

sorry if you got butthurt.....

He didn't say it was more absorbent, either. He said, in effect, cotton can handle the heat if it is loaded up with juice.

Really this is in response to the sweetness that has been brought up. You are using Sally right?

I'm not %100 sure it is Sally's, SteamHead sent it along. Perhaps he will chime in and say.

It is the same tube type as Sally's, I will try rinsing it but I don't think any residual salts would be left over after two tank fills or about 9ml.

In the R91 it's not a bad thing really, it's supposed to be somewhat of a sweet juice. It is overwhelmingly sweet in the Atomic dripper @ 0.4 ohms, I will rinse/dry a bit and see if it lessens the sweetness effect in the dripper.

It may simply be an effect of a more dense vape or some other unknown, I mean juice tastes totally different when using ekowool when compared to cotton.

I found a couple of manufacturer sites (bulk mfg) and the tables indicate rayon is as much as 200% more absorbent then cotton. Which is why it is used in a lot of exercise and sportswear clothing.

It's Sally's...
Yeah it's hard to determine at this time what each individuals cause is.. because I know for sure all my flavors are intensified. So if it's sweet it's gonna be sweeter. It's still to soon to have a complete answer. My first judgement was the juice that's being used. Others have said that they had sweetner in their diy and the sweetener came through big time and they had to reduce it.

I hear you about two tanks though. It may just be the intense wetness in the vape make the tongue pic up the sweetness more since its a primary taste receptor....thanks for the report, this is all brand new so were still learning.

The only thing that I think really is the salts for sure is a muted flavor and metallic aftertaste.
The salt is sodium sulfate.
For comparison - Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate.

I don't get any off taste or metallic note whatsoever.

I believe it to be an intensified vape. Much like comparing a RDA to an RTA, a Kayfun provides good flavor but to me on a dripper the flavor is a good bit more intense.

This is what I believe is happening with rayon.

Rayon is to cotton what an RDA is to an RTA.

I know I am going to hate asking but what is an RTA?

I already hate asking... Rebuild-Tank-Atty... Duh!!!

Here's some non-scientific proof for me..
I took my old KFL+ that was collecting dust, wicked it fat with rayon. 90%VG juice, running a 1.65ohm micro coil.
Prior with cotton, it would dry hit past 12watts. Running 22watts now, and can chain vape without a hint of dry hits.
It just delivers a warm moist vape. Rayon is the real deal, for me. Thanks JeremyR for all your hard work. You have brought my Kayfuns/Russians back into rotation.

I also like it very much. What has me confused is how does it intensify the Nic and flavor/Sweetness? I am not complaining about the Nic, flavor and sweetness actually I appreciate it but I do find it beyond my ability to understand or find a plausible reason.

By changing the density of the vape, smaller vapor particles equals more flavor and more absorption of available nicotine.

I'll go for that. I have actually noticed that effect once or twice after a new coil XC-116 build but it never lasted but a half dozen puffs so I didn't think about it much. I think I know now why with my old wicks sometimes I would think to my self "this juice is better than I remembered" only to notice shortly that it was back to the same old vape taste and kick.

To me rayon seems to add a mist atomizer effect to the vapor. (or fully atomized?)
You can tell, when the wicks overly saturated, if you take a big pull you'll feel a mist in your mouth. It's not hot or anything just a warm mist. In addition to the vapor. I guess that's where I got - its like drinking your juice.

I have noticed the mist and actually on the first couple of puffs after it has been sitting awhile I experience an effect similar to juice up in the drip tip. At first I thought that was what is was but then realize that it was actually an extremely heavy mist which I now ovoid by not pulling hard on a puff like I used to with cotton or silica and just let the rayon do it's thing.

Yeah your better to be diy when starting rayon. Lots of juice and recipe changes/ dilutions.
Right now I'm running the flashi with nothing in the tank wick holes. So it's wicking like crazy tonight. Definately some saturated vapes, so strong I went down in voltage from 6 to 5 for the night and its vaping great.
