Rayon wick, better flow, flavor, saturation and Nic Hit!

I bought 500ft of Cellucotton today at Sally's, and I got a few question.

How do know how much to use ????

do I have to you presoak the cellucotton in e-juice before installing wick

I tried it, and wasn't sure how much cellucotton to use

and I did get some dry hits

I think there

Ive been using a good amount of the cellucotton to wick my drippers. im finding that the 1.5 times your usuall cotton is about the right ratio. When i pull rayon thru my coil, its taking some effort to pull enough thru but still able to slide back and forth on each side of the coil. hope that made some sense, and i do mine dry, then add juice and get vapin, takes no break in time if done right!
Edit: keep the tails off your wick short, long ones tend to hold onto the juice too well and almost starves the coil...

This much, I measure out 3 times my coil width to start with.

Here's a video of my rewicking last night. Sorry no commentary. I guess I can add that next time. I went with a much lower quality using the front facing camera on the iphone so I could upload it directly.

I stretch it initially because it evens the fibers if there's any thicker spots. I usually do it mounted on my mod but the camera angle would be off for the setup I used. So I had to try to hold the base. But I was holding the other end to pull against stretching it down to pull through.

Yeah half the video is just priming it. Kinda shows how fast it is to wick.

This is the wick this morning after I vaped it pretty hard last night, looks like the density will hold up and looks good. It's vaping great as you can see, Looks brand new.

The one side is going over the high post.

I have the half tails pulled to opposite sides.

This wick is performing well 3 days later. This is what your shooting for.

3 days later 15- 20ml

Just as Jeremy to have a moderator make a sticky with all pertinent data that Jeremy thinks is suitable at the head of the thread.

That would be nice. But realize that takes quite a bit of work to put together. I've done quite a bit of work on this already just for the Greater good of all vapors. I'm working 10-12 hours a day and typically only have time for short thoughts through out the day.. I would need to sit down a while to put that together.. Plus it's all done from my iphone, all of this...

Tbev, are you volunteering?... Activity is good, We've had 8,000 hits in the last day. With numbers comes learning, understanding, and acceptance. Doesn't look like were Doing A bad job at all.

This thread has had a life of it's own, between the trolls, magic act flash tests, and the Trolls, it's become part hana clone, fiber wicks, trolls, and insulting trolls, with some damn good information throw in, and trolls.

First time I looked at this thread had like 8 pages, finally get some fiber to try, and go to post, fracking thread went viral. Oh, well, a wick is a wick of course and whoever heard of a oh, never mind...

So I've had the same CC wick sitting in my 1.8 mm wrapped coil in my pt2 for 5 days. with cotton, after day 2 without finishing the tank, I'd get spray in my mouth due to over saturation. With ReadyXwick, I wouldn't have that issue, but as i got down to the last 1/3 of the tank, it'd start flooding. With Sally's rayon, don't have this issue at all. Quite the wicking material.

I have switched all of my devices over to CelluCotton. Really enjoying this stuff.

Except for my Squape. The Squape is a challenging device to get right anyway. But with Cellucotton I just have not found it to work out at all. It either floods or dry hits. I went back to regular cotton and perfect vaping again on the Squape. But all my other atty's are really loving the new stuff.

Hey Jeremy how're you wicking your flash e from the tank to the coil wicks? Mesh? I've been trying to figure out a non-mesh build. Hmm
Burping out loud using Tapatalk

I've tried various setups since I don't have mesh. I think the best so far for me has been one tank wick going to the lower post and the other hole open.
null_zpsaad4bdd3.jpg

Have to make sure you don't lay it with air hole down cause the deck is full that's why I have the tube in the air hole to prevent it.

2 really light wicks works but one has to be so light that it can fall out especially when opening the tank or the air pushes them out or the air tube catches them and pulls them out.

I also had a 24 or 26 gauge coil in place of mesh in the wick holes which worked ok. And also had a nano coil with the rayon to try to allow air transfer.

The tank holds a pretty stout vacuum. But what I'm try today is somewhat based on an rba design I created. It's based on flow dynamics I learned working on boiler systems & radiant heating. Will see how it goes today.

I have seen no real troll activity. Only a couple posts that were uneducated to the information contained here in. And a couple disagreements. Not bad at all for 2355 posts

Same here, I just couldn't get the balance right on my rose with a vertical build. either too much juice wicking in through the juice wells or not enough. I'm sure there is a sweet spot, but I couldn't find it. I finally reverted to a ramie bed, a cotton core , and a rayon wrap , including rayon in the juice wells. This hybrid is working awesome, though if anyone has had any luck on the rose with a vertical build and all rayon I'd love to hear it. You may consider mixing it up in the squape to try and find a good balance of materials .

I've got 2 Genesis style tanks here. Took one look at the mesh in the little package that came with each, sighed and put them away. I just don't have the patience to learn how to do mesh wick. Call it old dog syndrome if you want ;)

I'd be extremely appreciative if someone would post a CCr build on any genny type tank. Or give me post # in this long thread that I missed.

Just do it!, thread your coil and leave a tail to the bottom of your tank, done!
Really? None of that U shaped wick craziness I saw with mesh? Just coil, wick with big long tail stuck down 1 hole? What about the other hole? Plug it?

bsoplinger,

I think I posted how I did my genesis coils but God only know where.

So a quick build instruction or the Gospel according to George. ;)

1. I wind a coil that is just a smidge under the diameter of the wick hole.
2. Mount the coil on the atty making sure you keep it vertical and right over the wick hole.
3. This part maybe tricky but than with all new CC builds it seems to be true. Try to use a piece of CC that when you smunch it down and put a little twist on it will be a about 1.25 times the size of the inside diameter of the wick hole/coil I.D.
4. Taper one end of the CC wick and insert it into the coil.
5. Then following the coil direction twist in the CC like putting a screw into a pre-threaded hole. If it is C.C or C.W. for in then twist in that direction.
6. Continue until the wick reaches the bottom of the tank and trim the wick about a 1/8 to 1/4 inch above the coil.

Eureka your done. Fill the tank and prime the wick/coil and you are done. If you want lots of Vapor hold the mod parallel to the ground with the wick air hole pointing towards the ground, less hold it with the .... end tilted down a little.

Any questions just ask... If I don't know I'll make up something.
