Just curious if the experts have any advice for us that are experiencing muted flavors in kayfun styled attys?

I'm a very recent adopter of Rayon (3 days) and I've re-wicked 4 of my KFL's with it. The last thing I would complain about is muted flavour. If anything, I'm noticing more a Throat Hit with the Rayon as compared to Organic cotton or Japanese cotton pads. Pay attention to how you're wicking your coils, and use a little bit more Rayon than you would cotton. Rayon actually compresses when wet and if you don't have enough in your coil, it could account for what you're experiencing.

....,

I have to go along with Dusty_D I also use a little more rayon than I would cotton. The stuff tends to collapse a little with time and doesn't touch the coil on the top side.

I also find that upping my power level helps and I assume that is because the rayon holds so much more liquid and cools the coil down.

When I get it right I experience more flavor I am not into throat hit so I can't speak to that but if your looking for a nic buzz you will know when you get it right... guaranteed. ;)

Thicker, but less in length? I've only wicked my Russian91% with rayon twice so far, each time has been fail. First wick the flavor was muted and I guess that I had used too little. The second wick I had apparently over compensated and used too much.. then I started getting dry hits. I guess that I just need to play with it more. My brain is still in cotton mode...

I cut the length to just in line with the deck and then cut again slightly angled towards the coil so as not to stuff the wick channel. No wicking issues and no flavour issues either.

....,

I am sure that the wick I put in my Kayfun last night was what most here would consider too much. I could still pull it back and forth but it was pretty stiff.

I found for me that I have to cut the wick where it just barely touches the bottom deck and pushed back against the back wall. If the stuff gets over the juice channel it makes a great juice PLUG.

Anyway if you get it right I can almost assure you that it will be great. I had given up using the three Kayfuns I own and now with the Rayon all my other attys are on the "time-out bench".

PS - When manipulating the wick on the lower deck make sure you have wet it with juice otherwise it is like trying to sweep up chicken feathers it goes and does what it wants to but the juice makes it behave.

How come everyone here manages to say the same thing I say but does it in a 140 characters or less? Does this mean I don't use twitter enough or post from my cellphone. Grrr...

I know I jumped all over the last offer similar to this, think it was on eBay, but this one is much more reasonable. Considering cost of mailer (envelope) and stamp coming out of that $2 and they're still making a decent profit but not the 10,000% range of that other one. Doing rough math here, at $0.05 for envelope, $0.45 postage, that's $1.50 gross profit. 50 x 10' = 500', 50 x $1.50 = $75, less $12 for box of CCr, leaves about $63. If postage is more then less profit, you know the drill. That's being helpful to the community, making a few bucks doing so. Can't complain in the least about that deal.

I agree, I've order from them before and it seems like they have reasonable pricing, some stuff even close to fasttech, Lol! I'm just happy I can help someone that wants to try this rayon out. This thread has helped inform me that's for sure. I'm a believer!

My bad bro, I should have been more clear. You have to use more in the coil, than cotton, but not a ton, and trim your tails, I trim them like on my foggers length wise, reducing them at the ends by 1/3rd. Take a pic of the wick after some use of your still having problems.

Tbev,

I am over here in St. George, UT how do you live in So-Cal & Vegas?

How do you like your Fogger and what version do you have. I keep looking at the one on eBay and my trigger finger is getting jumpy.

Love St. George, I used to do business up there a bit, had a partner in Hurricane,..

Just get it, I've been a huge genny fan retired all of them, like ten, r91's... Retired, Fv4 isn't hard to build and it's the best on the market right now, and I think eBay has them for 25 bucks, but it. period, end of sentence.
