I've been reading a book, regenerated cellulose fibers, description follows-

"This is a comprehensive work by industrial and academic specialists proving up-to-date information on the chemistry, physics, process technology, applications and markets for man-made cellulosic fibres. It covers the properties and applications of viscose rayon, cupprammonium rayon and the new solvent-spun fibres as well as considering their relationships with the natural cellulosics such as cotton "

It does indicate rayon for medical/ pharma use is held to a higher standard of purity.

Also all rayon has a very safe, enviro friendly, organic based, nontoxic lubricant added to help processing into bales. A couple different kinds.
Care to share the ISBN for this book? :)

Is this enough? Too much? Too little?

It looks like just enough thickness for the inside of the coil. I'd trim the tails personality thinner and shorter.

Use it as a dripper for ten drops or so couple drops at a time: wet, chimney on hit it, drip, .... Use that coil keeping the wick wet for a bit and see how it goes.

I've trimmed the top half of the wick tails. They are just long enough to touch the deck on either side. Not sure if the angle of the camera is making them look longer.

Could be the camera angle then because I had the same initial reaction - bit fat and long on the tails.

Using rayon for around a month now and pretty good with wicking. I use enough thickness so that it very snug, nearly too tight, going through the coil, then I add some juice to the center so it can then slide back and forth through the coil easily. I clip the tails short enough, just so they can sit on the deck of an RDA to soak up juice. Too much length is not necessary; maybe a cent or two of length is on the deck. In my Magma, the tails are up against the juice well, just long enough to touch the bottom and it works great. I tried a ten wrap coil a couple days ago and for some reason I could not keep it from getting red in the center. I tried three different rayon wicks with the same result. My regular eight wrap works fine. Weird. Wicking rayon works so well that juice is sometimes too sweet. I actually haven't been using some of my sweeter juices anymore because of that. I still need to order some flavorless juice to dilute those. I've actually been thinking of switching to flavorless juice altogether.

Looks good to me. Possibly a little too much, but even with a little too much I still get good wicking, though sometimes the flavor is a touch lighter. I like the wick to be a able to slide back and forth in the coil with just a little resistance, and I also like to stretch the wick by tugging on the ends after installing.

TWO FEET - I jumped in with TWO feet, I just a bought a box from Sally for TWO fi-dolla bills bucks. 500 hundred friggin' feet. It was the only thing available in the TWO stores I went TWO today. I gotta rewick 10 atties with this stuff. I hope all the hype is right. 500 hundred feet - that will stretch across my 3 yards. I know I'll have some left over. The box is almost as big as my 21 inch monitor. lol..Maybe I can use it like tinsel for my Christmas tree..:D

Yeah, I have a feeling it might be a bit much. Haven't tried it yet but I did stretch it before and after installation. It's nice to work on fine tuning. Sucks when you're out and about and need to tweak though..

The nice thing is, if it is just a little too much you won't NEED to tweak it for it to work well in your KFL. The flavor may not be optimal, but more than fine enough to get through the day. I think too little wick in the KFL would be a bigger problem that needs attending to quicker.

I noticed the flavor in my KFL with the CCr wick was good and the wicking was fine, but the flavor wasn't as saturated as I'd hoped. When I went to change wicks, I found out I really had a bit much because I really had to tug to remove the wick, almost enough to mess up the coil. The wick was still perfectly fine though, no dark marks or any sign of scorching after two tanks of a clean lime flavored juice. A NET may have caused problems as the gunk built up though.

I rewicked it with less wick, the same amount I use in my drippers. The flavor is improved, more saturated. Patriot is tasting awesome in a rayon wicked Kayfun! I also trimmed the tails of the wick at an angle this time like others are doing.
