I'm a major contributor in the zmax v3 thread. And a huge proponent of stacking in these.. Of course everyone used to say I was gonna blow up and of course I didn't and it only improved my vape experience by 300%. Funny thing 54 I had all kinds of people tell me there was no way it lasts 3 times longer than 18650 @ 1.5 ohm.. Or puts out more power. And believe me it does... As you know.. Crazy how much misinformation is out there.

Not sure if you have a v3 telescope or straight zmax. Telescope needs some noalox to fire consistent. Check the specs to see if it supports stacked. Easy way to find out - try it see if it fits and powers up. If it's a tele stop by yzers v3 mega thread ... Well this thread had surpassed that one in only 2 months.. which blows me away.

I have argued with a few know-it-alls about how much power the VAMO puts out, they think it's limited to 15 watts even stacked..even in variable voltage. I have nothing to test it but I know it's close to 30 watts when maxing it out.

It has a 5 amp limit and fires down to 1.2 ohms, 1.2 ohm @ 6 volts is 30 watts drawing exactly 5 amps (when stacked).

Sitting down, facing forward.
54, I used to stack in my Vamos but stopped when the batteries started showing signs of no longer being "the same", voltage difference was too great when it was time to charge them. I haven't bothered to buy any more 18350s and I have no problems with stacking if done carefully, if the batteries are monitored to make sure they are, indeed, a "pair" and are kept as a pair for stacked use only.

My experience with stacking was that battery life was much greater than an 18650/2000 versus the stack of two 18350/800s. The inefficiency of the boost circuit is, of course, the culprit. Bucking doesn't take much power at all but boosting does. A friend did some controlled tests simulating the cycle of vaping, load for eight seconds, rest for thirty seconds, and the stack outlasted the single by over two to one.

Thinking about it, I may break down and pick up some AW 18350s just for a laugh.

Make sure you switch places with your batteries every time you recharge and replace them, as in make sure your first battery goes in second and your second battery goes in first. The lead battery(the one that goes in first) will take more abuse than the bottom battery which is why you switch them around to make sure each has the same amount of wear and tear. Just helps keep them balanced if you will.

You may have already been aware of that, but others reading may not know.

What's this about alternating batteries? Sounds like rubbish to me. The laptop, on which I am typing this has 6 18650 batteries in it, and they do not alternate. My hybrid car, with several hundred pounds of lithium batteries (might even be 18650s) does not alternate the cells.

I can see not combining an old cell with a new cell, as that is even a long known no-no even with alkaline batteries. But rotating is just a neurosis, unless you can back that up.

In stacked batteries, what goes through one, goes through the other. One does not work harder than the other because it is in front or on top. Electricity does not have a concept of front or top.

Would love to try some of this stuff. Been pretty happy with my readyxwick, but it just doesn't work well in some tanks, like my Kayfun. So without having to read through 377 pages what is the consensus on the best place to get some of this stuff? Is it all gigantic bulk bags?

Graham CelluCotton (CC), available at Sally Beauty supply. Make sure you get the 100% Rayon, non-reinforced. CC in small bags are most likely to be cotton.

To add to tbev's post, above, in order of length:

40 foot box (about the size of a square kleenex box): 44130 ($3.28 at Texas Beauty Supply)
500 foot box: 44060 ($11.88, same source)
3 lb box: 44043 ($16.48, same source)

i am interested in trying a rayon wick. i have noticed that cotton isn't wicking fast enough, giving me that singed cotton taste, generally toward the end of a long pull or while chain vaping low res/open air rdas. Packing the coil tight with cotton helps, but it seems from what i have read here that rayon is better. Thanks for the advice in this thread!

Finally got this Rayon to work in my sub ohm builds. I wasn't being generous enough with the wicking. Now it's hitting like a train. Even at 3mg nic I can feel that difference instead of cotton.

Being stingy with myself with a box that would last a lifetime lol. Now it's just cut to order. Major wicking and it's nice.

You could commit to the big box at Sally's, or the bag of 200 balls from Delasco, but if you just want to try a smaller quantity first, the best deal I've seen posted was this one:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/561226-rayon-wick-better-flow-flavor-saturation-nic-hit-363.html#post13693475

10 feet for $1.99, free shipping

But even at just 10 feet, that would still last you a really long time!

It just amazes me that this stuff is still clean and wicking so many days later! I just pulled dual wicks with over 4 days of use and barely a mark but the coil was pretty gunky. Any other wick is dark where the coil sits. Certainly nice not changing wicks daily! Tons of XC, Ramie, KGD, Hemp, CVS, SS cable/mesh and a list of others that I'll probably never use again!

Here's a pic the day I started up this BF converted atty with Sally's CC

Jeremy,

That book on Rayon that you have did you buy it or find it someplace like the library? When I looked it up I didn't know if they wanted me to pay for the book or payoff the Nation Debt.
As I mentioned, Google Books is your friend. I managed to read the four pages concerning the washing and finishing procedures with no problem (and no expense).

Looks frigging great slavkov! It's essentially the same as Sally's just a big brick of it. It's what I expected. This stuff is pure regenerated cellulose. Take a small ball of it and physically taste it like candy . if there's any impurities you'll taste it. The only contaminate that could hang around is salts namely harmless sodium sulfate. Search thread for - redit msds or any other technical data.
Yes, I'm interested too in your (slavkov's) taste test. The rayon balls were, to me, completely neutral testing. This should be the same, just woven differently.
