Quick question: I just purchased 500ft of this stuff. Planning on building chimney in my KFL, am I wrapping the cellucotton like Rip in his chimney build vid?
I wouldn't. That was the way I first did it and posted in superX micro coil
thread. It was also done with rayon but nobody caught it at that time... It's hard to get even consistent contact with the entire coil top to bottom 360*... I recommend a core wrap of rayon first, to get even consistent contact with entire coil. Then, if you want to do wrap around wicks to hold it you can.... but I like packing the chamber first couple times Expect to add more like I described a few posts ago regarding the taifun vertical, because you won't judge it right the first couple times but its easy to add more with a needle or two.
Actually in this pic you can see the wick isn't touching the coil by the channels. I ended up tucking a little in the cup near the channels to bring that rayon in to touch.
And for those looking... That's literally how wet the rayon gets without flooding. That's one of the remarkable things about it in tank rbas.
