So what I did last was cut a six inch piece off, so it was something like 6"x2-3".
1)Folded/rolled it up into a ball and then rubbed it between my palms so it knotted up.
2)Then slightly pulled it apart so it created a somewhat knotted flat sheet 5"x3"
3) Folded/rolled it up so it kept most of it's length, then rolled it between my palms but keeping it's length.
4)repeated 2&3 several times until I had a fairly dense piece off knotted tencil representing exactly like a dreadlock about 5" long
5) some spots in the middle of the deadlock wasn't as knotted as other spots. So I just took the deadlock and rubbed those spots against my Palm to to tighten them up just as you would with a deadlock.
6) to make wicks I cut a piece off the dreadlock about 1" long and just manipulated it to the desired diameter to make a few wicks.
