this stuff wicks so good that i believe im going to drill out one of the kayfuns tonight.
drilled out the taifun to 7/64 and its awesome!

That's cool, keep me updated; I've thought of doing the same as well. Rayon really seems to take the kayfun to a whole 'nother level.

*Disclaimer: all my coils are 29ga (cuz that's all I have) and 1.65mm ID (cuz I've been brainwashed by the microcoil thread and i have an 18ga needle)

When I first started with the kayfun I was running 8 wraps, which is the minimum for a true microcoil. That was great for a while (coming from protanks for over a year straight), but soon I wanted more. So I went seven wraps at around 1.1 ohm. Vape was better, but I'd get the occasional dryhit (no matter how much cotton I used), likely because the small amount of cotton just couldn't keep up.

Next I went to dual coils, nine wraps each at .9ohms. Flavor was great, and the extra cotton i could use from x2 coils meant no dry hits. Problem was, it was extremely warm. I like a bit of warmth (which I had never had until now), but this was too much.

Then I discover this thread, found the cellucotton at Sally's, and after a couple good reports I got some as well. Because of the wicking quality, I knew I could go back to a single coil and be just fine. Decide to try a twisted coil, which would get me to a low ohm while spreading the heat out over a much larger surface area. Used the drill (dremel actually) method and it came out beautiful, like it was from the factory. I ended up at 8 wraps (I think, I'll hafta check when I break it down again) at .7-.6ohms (provari read .7 for a second then faulted, idk). This was lower than i wanted to be, because of the warmth from my dual coil .9 build, but i figured I'd try it anyways.

Stuffed it full on rayon (about 40% more than I'd use with cotton) and proceeded to vape.

Amazing flavor, big clouds, perfect warmth (not as hot as my .9 DC build, weird). Two tanks in and never a dry hit. It's actually STILL krackling every time I hit it (always a sign for me of a new, clean coil/wick), where with cotton the krackle would stop halfway through the tank, if that (I like very sweet juice that caramelizes very quickly).

Rayon really is the solution for microcoils in a Kayfun, and helps this atty specifically a great deal.

Needless to say, I'm in vaping heaven right now and I owe it to all the participants in this thread, and especially JeremyRayon.

Thanks, guys! :vapor::vapor::vapor:

Love that krackle .. sad if it doesn't krackle, happy-happy when it does :)

No.. well in that case 10.00 a foot

Just wish I had a vape website, I would have kept the wick a secret and sold it as magic wick. :)

Here's a pic of the cellucoil I got

If you have enough to share, I would be very interested! Mayor let down today receiving cotton in the mail instead of the rayon balls as it was supposed to be. And there are no sally's here in canada, so If someone want to help out a fellow vaper, please contact me! Thank You!!

I've run a few tanks through my kayfuns now, and I noticed another benefit. The rayon doesn't seem to hold onto the flavor as long when switching flavors. I normally wash it out and rewick between different juices when using cotton or it will ruin the flavor on the next juice. With the CC I tried just rinse/dry of the tank and outside chimney and noticed that after about 10 pulls the flavor of the previous juice was gone. No muddied flavor.

So I bought a box of 500ft after lurking this thread some. I'm very impressed. Put it in my ac9 for auto dripping, it works better than cotton but still not amazing. In my igo-l daily, my patriot sub ohm, and my tobh sub ohm.... It is amazing. Holds far more juice without leaking out the air holes than cotton. Also lasts more hits before funky tastes.

If anyone wants a few feet to try, drop me an address in my pm box and I'll send an envelope.

sent by my mind.

rewicked the taifun.....
i had wicked it STUFFED before...vapor was good. flavor was good...no dry hits....no gurgling..better than any cotton build id had.
rewicked it with about 2x more than i would with cotton...id say lightly snuggly when pulled back and forth.
vapor is better now,thicker....
actual flavor is about the same but id have to say.... juicier?...so that makes it better.

id have to say its more evidence that jeremy is right on about the amount to fill your coil with

this board took off light lightening in the past week with that cellucotton I can't wait to re-wick the kayfun with the cellucotton on my dual verts. Thanks to brian1111 and Dconnor for both offering to send me some. Just so you know, I accepted both your offers just to be on the safe side that it gets to me here in canada. Let me know what costs were incurred for shipping etc, and I'll paypal that back to you. I also have Ramie, tencel topps, and some tencel nepps on the way in case anyone wants any. These were fibers I could actually find easily in canada, but the one I really wanted is hard to get here (I went to 5 beauty salons today, they had something for their own use, but not for sale). You guys who found this board a little later are lucky as a few of us were ordering fibres before the cellucotton discovery only days ago!!! Not all is lost though, the tencel topps works great on top fed devices like the prometey. Here's a photo of my gunked up but still tasty tencel tops on the prometey, and my current vertical kayfun cotton build that is waiting on the cellucotton.

I did a new wick with just a little less, and would agree with your juicier description. Not tight in there but just snug.

Ok so here's my update.
First off petemoss thank you for your generous care package! Received it in the mail today ( queens to queens is pretty quick lol)
Just wrapped a new coil ( .9) and threaded through some of this frankencotten. Juiced it up, let it sit, juiced again and took a pull...
Blech! Cottony taste! Another couple hits... Cotton, cotton...
Dripped some blue rasberry in.... There we go.
Tastes really good, but I still get the cotton undertones I always got with the cvs rolled stuff. I will say this, it loses that overpowering cotton flavor quicker than the rolled cotton. Will continue to take a few hits and squonk to see if it goes away completely ( it usually did for me... That is, the wick "broke in" after a good session.

I'm way over nic'ed right now lol. Was doing comparison hits between the ready wick and this stuff.

The ready wick to me doesn't have that undertone of wick flavor... But the flavor is also, surprisingly, a little muted in comparison.
Will continue to use and keep apprised. In a day or so I might switch it out to play with wick density. Here's a pick in case anyone has any tips. Maybe it's too dense? It's way more than I would have used if it was cotton

I would try a little less. Have been finding the vapor increases and the vape seems juicier just snug pulling through the coil.

Also it does get better as it breaks in.
