I'm going to be sharing my story this week, so can you chair the meeting Roxy?
We definately need some sort of therapy, but Im afraid if we got together to "talk" about our "problem" we would only encourage each other to get more

Gus make some pretty sweet DTs, agreed.Japanese cotton or rayon? How's this look so far, not a lot of room between post screws, 25 g with 7 wraps.
OT: Gus dts are now my second faves behind old sam

Ok, You all know I got a heron, and I was loving it...... My buddy sent it to me pre-built and pre-fluffed.
So today I decided I wanted another flavor, my first hurdle was getting the top off. Now I dont think anyone has had this problem, it my hands...... I could not get it to budge more than a couple mm on one side or another. Put on latex gloves, brought out the rubber bands....NOTHING..... I finally took a small funnel with a long stem with bit of cotton to protect the tube inside and got it off..... This was very hard and had to take a short break. I was visually shaken.
So next step , easy, place the fluff in that I cut to match the original one, filled . Then on to next step, make a coil , my usual 28 g kanthal , 6 wraps, that come out to 1.1-1.2 on my Spheroids.... I could not get a steady reading with multimeter ( I hate the multimeters I end up with. I reading is all jumpy, and never really stops, I figure when its going back from .9 to 1.1 its pretty close, but I cant tell if its a short , or loose something...
Ok, put a wick in it, KGD, load it with juice, put together and good for first few puffs, then slightly off , burny taste..... Look inside and its singed.
Ok, replace with organic cotton, it keeps shrinking or getting flat as the juice is heavy. Tried the topper, no topper, yuck.....burned.....Then try Sugar and Cream yarn. Its in there, wet and still looks like its perfect, not tight, not loose.
Burned..... Figured it was shorting.....Battery felt warm and that never happens..... TOok it apart, next coil, same thing......
How do you all make sure that your resistance is correct when working with hybrid connections? I dont have a VV or VW device and Im not getting a Provari just to check my builds. Im going nuts....
SO here I sit with my Heron on my workspace very much like the photo of the new Phenom Mtek posted, looking at it, wasted 3ml of really good tobacco....., Have a sort throat from inhaling nasty burned stuff. Now Im very relaxed as I had to take an ativan because I was a nervous wreck.......
ANy one have some suggestions, other than sending it your way...... well, I dont mind sending it but you can keep it if you like and if you pity me send me something.......

I've under wicked it a couple times and got juice up the chimney (more to do with over filling the the fluff/tank) and I've under wicked it a couple times, but never to the extent of the wick being charred. Hmmm, you aren't hot spotting or anything? Seems like you would be able to tell if something was wrong when you are test firing it.
I imagine of you were shorting you would notice it right away?
You sure your wick is touching the fluff?

Yeah, I literally never checked my first build on the Estia because I wasn't sure how to check a tri with a DMM. I know now.
Check your post screws are tight, the positive post is tight and the hybrid connector is tight.
Wish I had one to give you more detail. I always take my attys apart to figure out how they connect electrically.

Ok, building was easy enough. Putting the barrel down is very different, it's blind like an Erlk at that point. I thought I went heavy on the rayon but all is good so far. I just chained it until the dt got too hot, perhaps a delrin is in order but it would be a shame on these beautiful pieces. Airflow I have all three holes open, draw for me perfect, not kayfun v4 open, but not as tight as an Erk with a 2.0 either. Warm vape, not hot. If my wicking keeps up, it could be an all day rta for me. Flavor is lights out, such a thin chimney and concentrated base is probably the culprit. Wife just got on me for blowing plumes too...

I took the Ataman 2 apart. I'm at a loss on how it's suppose to have a 2.2 mm airflow like the Prometey 3. I checked my wick it's not obstructing anything. I turn it to all 3 settings empty and they seem almost the same IMHO. I'm not sure yet, but I think it may have something to do with the juice control. If the JC is wide open I get more air, but not near the airflow of the Prometey 3 or even the PhenomenoN. I wonder if the extended airflow tube may have something to do with it? Maye it's bottle necking the air flow. I'm back to my PROMETEY III vaping some ANIML Looper. When I get some more time tomorrow I will juice it up and try the juice control theory out I got a super busy day today. In fact, I'm already an hour behind.

I have a Spheroid, but don't have a Piccolo. Right now its on a 50W istick, but darn if they don't look nice together. However, I could easily be convinced to add a second Spheroid with a Piccolo.
