Oh, and I see Mike ("Cartos raped my mother and killed my father!") Deason stopping by again. Howdy, Mike.

I've got a few older batch EM LR510's left, and a bunch of LR and 6v cartos waiting to be used. Think I'll burn-or rather, vape-through them until I order more attys and see what the conventional wisdom is on what to buy then.

Honestly, except for the joye LR306, my experience with attys is lackluster compared to cartos on both mods. I'm honestly wondering if I should even frak with them at all.

And you're welcome, pianoguy. Good to talk with you, sir.

The Joye LR306 gave up the ghost on me after a couple of solid weeks of abuse. Impressive, really. It lasted as long as one of my LR510 cartos at 3x the price, but I do admit I'm hard on attys. The fact that I'm using a Grand-the magical vape all day without having to think about it device-probably exacerbates that problem. The (not current batch) EM 510's can take the abuse for about half of that time if I'm lucky with some coaxing. I think I'll try the allegedly new and improved batch of EM's once I've thinned out the current herd of them entirely.

The Grand is still just practically perfect, even without the new switch retrofit. I've heard such good things about the new switch that I'm tempted to send it in, but truthfully I don't think I can stand to be without it for the week and a half or two weeks that it could take for shipping. It's just that good. I've been told that I have quit my subconscious tick of holding my mods up to my ear to make sure they're firing before I take a vape.

I'll admit that it may sound like I'm on redeyedancer's payroll, or his illicit love partner, from my descriptions of the mod and my nine month association with him. But I'm not either one. Check out my blogs about the first generation of wooden reo's and you can read what I actually experienced with them, good and bad, before he perfected that design. As much as I like Redeyedancer, I secretly wish that there was some sort of flaw, quirk or shortcoming that I can report so this review wouldn't be so damned boring.

The only thing I can really disagree with him on is his pricing and offerings on the design. Given the spectacularly high demand for the mod-he sold 35 grands last night in UNDER ONE MINUTE-a prudent move would be to raise the prices of them in general and forego custom colors or charge a big premium for them in order to deter people from blatantly collecting multiple copies and get as many of them into the hands of as many people as possible. I grant you my opinion is NOT popular with existing Reonauts to say the least. But people who have been frustrated by the mad rush of the online sales to date may (begrudgingly) agree if it increases their chances of getting one. Being a native Okie, the sales remind me think of the great land runs that began my state in the late nineteenth century.

Congrats, benjayman2, and howdy, Mike.

To answer your question, Mike: a) it's more convenient for me to hold the Reo upside down a squeeze her for a second rather than carrying an extra bottle, and b) I tend to flood cartos more easily when dripping top down. Nothing wrong with top dripping per se. (Saw the noob I sold my original GGTS to doing that on an carto who figured that out on his own, and was impressed by it.)

And to ask you a question, have you tried the new and improved EM 510's yet? Reo/Redeyedancer says the new batch is better, but I'm not sure the jury is back with a real verdict just yet. I did enjoy the Joye LR306 Sterno threw my way...it is still a serious contender for my next atty order.

Hey skivy the REO can be used with any ratio and I don't believe Rob had any particular ratio in mind when building it. He puts the reducer tube in there for you "just in case" you may have auto-feeding happening with thinner juices. Basically you put the reducer tube in the original tube with just enough of the reducer tube sticking out so that you can remove it if needed. I sometimes thin out my 100% vg juices with a little water and have yet to use my reducer tube. Hope this helps :)

I agree with you Clyde, not worth getting trampled on to get this mod. It seems there has to be an easier way to get it, I keep reading about vapers trying to get their first Grand and being unsuccessful and then being disappointed. I myself have been trying to just get a new door for my Grand and no dice. My emails go unanswered now-at least he could say sorry try again but nothing. I gave up, I think it'd be better if he took orders for them to be more fair but it's not my mod.

Taking orders can create a whole other can of worms (cough-carlos juice box-cough). It looks as if he's upping production, so that should help a bit. Raising the price and limiting the color selection would be the most logical method of getting his design to every vaper that wants it. Truthfully, I am a bit of a hypocrite since I've ordered more than one Grand (even though I sold my first one to a good friend).

The law of supply and demand applies, though. And I think the more of them that are in circulation will create more (actually, exponential) demand. For a modder, it's a good problem to have, and proof that he's come up with an excellent design.

Still contentedly vaping the Polished Gold and Black BLING! Grand. Trying to see if Reo/Redeyedancer will sell me a polished Gold door for extra blingeyness.

Original yellowjacket Reo still being vaped by my good friend Bill B.

Other than finally giving in to the buzz and trying a cisco 2ohm 510 atty, there's nothing to report. Not a problem, flaw or incident.

Tried the 2ohm at Reo's suggestion based upon his experience of the 1.5 ohm versions buring subtler juices on the Grand. Nice little atty. Not quite the fog machine that the joye 1.5ohm 306 is, but a decent vape that delivers the flavor of whatever juice I'm vaping. More importantly, it's still chugging along after a week and has only needed to be blown out once.

Got some original Cisco 1.9 ohm 510 on clearance from avidvaper for $6.99 on the way. At only $2-4 dollars more apiece than the EM LR510's Reo USED to sell, they're appearing to be quite the bargain. As for the remaining EM's, I think I'll hold them in reserve for friends in need. Well, okay...maybe not GOOD friends.

Oh, right, the Reo Grand. I haven't found a single flaw, bug, niggle or even quibble in the mod. My initial impressions still hold true. Call it laziness on my part, but I can't see a compelling reason to post a 'final' or 'extended use' review. Bad thing for a reviewer, great thing for a consumer. Best mod that I have ever tried so far.

I haven't tried the 801 on the Grand, but have tried it on the original prototypes. Remember the first was jokingly called the clyde2801 mod...because it used an 801 connection.

I loved the 801's taste on the mods. I found the TH to be a bit lacking, probably due to the 801 attys available to me at that time, roughly about a year ago.

I tried an 801 on my Grand and there was leaking all over the place! I guess it's because you have to use an adapter and the juice has to go through the adapter up to the atty. It was hitting great with an LR 801 but I constantly had to keep cleaning up. Has anyone found a better way?

I've had similar problems - juice seems to get trapped in the atty, and then decides to run back down at some point. It seems to be an issue with the adapter. Rob suggested removing enough of the bottom ring of the atty to expose the air holes - I tried that and it seems to work better, but not perfect. It did improve the draw, though.
