I've read the new V2 is having a switch redesign. Any clues what it will look like? I read 4 to 6 weeks and worth the wait. If I can see it and love it..are pre orders being taken now at a reduced price?

Also, how long if registered on the puresmoker forum to get the upgrade on current switch?

Thank You for any and all information in advance.

i do believe they are going with a new switch design that you'll have to pay an additional $27 to get. or if you order a new V2 like today, it comes standard.

personally, i got the upgrade for the switch and replaced the posts, the o-ring i didn't need because i bought the #60 o ring from lowes. but then the steel posts suck more than the aluminum posts i had, but the aluminum ones disappeared :(

i dunno.... i guess all that fidgeting with the old posts i had my V2 working the way i wanted it to, and then the upgrade made it not so great.

I searched all over their board and found NO info on this new switch. Are they just expect us to blindly believe it will be better? Or, is there some real info? I'd buy the new one quick if I knew something about the new switch..eg what will it look like.. how is it designed?? Is the body and the rest remaining the same?

I have had two with this one from the most recent batch. I think the older unlogo one might have been better. Believe or not! Maybe it's their production line of where they are getting them from; makes for things here always being interesting.

the switch only looks a little different from the outside.

the inner workings are no different.

But imho, seeing all the bad ju-ju about the current mechanical switch, i think there is work to be done on the mechanical switch design.

But, I literally ONLY use my V2 now, haven't been able to touch my protege or little ecigs that are 3.7 volts. It's just a little bit of fidgeting to get the switch to work right every other day or so...

That being said, when the V2's button works flawlessly - it will be the best PV in my opinion.

here is why:

Stainless steel body.
new adapters will be even better. (no more hit and miss spinning brass inserts)
the Size of the PV is amazing (who cares about 3.7v OR multiple battery compatibility)

this isn't a tactical flashlight. it's something we use everyday. it needs to be built for everyday use. even i think that the V2 is an amazingly well built PV. i really feel like anything i may have said or criticized about the protege was changed in the V2.

Back to the button: the button is a work in progress... i dont think it will be any different until something is found that works perfectly and forever. it's a mechanical button that was literally designed by the puresmoker community (just look at the threads about it early on...). There is only a handfull or less of these quality PVs out there, NONE of which are this small @ 5v, at least i haven't found one ---- if you know of one let me know, i'll probably buy it and try it out, unless it's a GG.

So Johnny..do you know if ordering the V2 today and forward that it will come with this switch?
PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!

and is there a pic of the complete look? Does it still stick out above the body for example?

I think Steve or Casey are the only ones that can answer these questions 100%. I don't know of any pictures of the V2.1 that exist.

Thank You Johnny for your time and kindess.

Hey Monk- I have a flashlight mod that YOU would NOT know was a flashlight! Just gotta find the time to finish it up. I have own 2 different V2's so no need to sell me : ). I am keeping until I find the time to finish up my mod w/ picking out the regulator I want to use with it. Just ordered another one and probably do 3amp regulator and a 1.5 Amp to wean myself off.. back down to 3.7 and then none hehe

yeah i just found it too. was about to post the link.....

I really don't understand all this electrical stuff. ohms and loaded voltage and the special batteries he's getting.....

What was wrong with vaping at 5v?

and what's the difference between the copper and titanium contact disk that's going to be with the V2.1 switch?

Theres nothing wrong with 5v vaping per se. It's more a problem with the possibility of batteries venting or combusting when not properly used. Stacking them isn't the best idea. Improper charging, over draining, mismatched batteries, etc..
Plus, with the low resistence atty's that are available now, you get the same vape with a 3.7 device so there really is no need for a 5v mod anymore.

The titanium disk is what pulls the voltage on a PV2 down to around 5v under load.

The copper disk will not add the extra resistance.

As for the low resistance attys, I've been vaping one for just over a week. Put one on a Protege, and put juice in like you're vaping at 6v, and get ready for major throat hit and massive clouds of vapor. These little things rock. :thumb:

so if i'm still using the rcr123 3v batteries, use the titanium disk?
