I think that in order to protect newer members of the vaping community, ECF should require that the retail price of the item be posted in every classified ad over a certain amount, say $50.

If the seller overstates the retail price, no classified sales for 90 days. Second time, no more classifieds.

If someone wants to pay a big premium for something they really want, at least they'll know that's what they're doing.

I do understand and appreciate this thought, but I have a lot of "Pandora's Box" type of concerns. Price variances, for one. Who would determine WHICH price should be listed. If left to the Seller, it would be useless. If ECF accepted the task, it would (a) require resources, and (b) potentially get them smack in the middle of disputes related to the price listed, which is of little value to anyone.

Again, I appreciate the thought but I'd be fine just leaving the "Google" capabilities to myself. If someone buys something without researching all facets of their purchase, then who am I to tell them that they can't?

Spend and let spend, for lack of a better term.

Its not the same having in the ad :) original price: 150usd and listed price:300 plus USED, the "like new stuff" puff get a grip the moment its out of the wrapper is used....

Plus allow proper public humiliation without insults regarding the price, im ok with price etc and "free market" (didnt know these forum turned into a ecig ebay/craigslist) what im piss is that i cant put a warning to clueless without the seller getting butthurt or the mods.

Fair points, all. But we are all responsible adults. I have to imagine (hope?) that the large majority of buyers do at least some research before handing their money to someone. If not, shame on them.

And, for the record, I'm TOTALLY with you (and everyone else who said) that we should be able to call them out in public. Freedom is, after all, an all-encompassing term. If I were to ask anything of ECF, in this regard, it would be to just "open all the windows and let the air fly through." Whatever it blows around, deserves to be blown around.

this really puts ecf between a rock and a hard place. supply and demand should be enough to regulate prices and prospective buyers should do their homework but ecf also prides itself of being a safe haven for noobies.
therefore i'd say bumps just for the sake of getting an item back on top should be disallowed and, as with municipal yard sales, there should be a limit on how often somebody can use the classifieds to offer items for sale.

Stop all this puritanical hand-wringing already, this is the biggest case of mass-consumed sour grapes I have ever seen, if you can't afford it, guess what, you can't afford it, there is nothing promised to anyone.......

And noobs should never purchase high-end PVs in the first place since they still haven't figured out vaping in the first place....:2c:

ripple, be nice! ;) i have no problem with anybody replacing a stolen mac book - if it flies it flies, lol. but if some of the posters here are right and certain sellers offer items for sale on a constant basis then the classifieds are being used as a venue quite different in purpose than the original intend. you have modders on ecf who might sell less than 30 items a month but are required to register as suppliers. why single those members out because they sell something they produced while others buy and sell the same quantity and have no expenses associated?

If you put a limit on things it would do more harm than good. You will have that person complaining about how someone in co op is selling 200 of an item and they can't sell more than X amount, because essentially you are buying from that one person. I have seen many times where someone gets into a spot and needs to sell their collections for fast money. The rules would be soo complicated. Would it be ok to sell 20 Boge cartos but not 20 of the newest hot selling Mods/attys?

There must be something interesting in classifieds right now to cause such a stir...

The only thing I know is more regulations are not necessary. The critics seem to paint the sellers as evil does and profit hogs, however it takes two to tango, so to speak. I have seen on Ecf, and other venues, many buyers, willing to pay outlandish prices for used vape equipment. They are abetting, and contributing to the so called problem. Do we think Ecf has a staff on call to manage the myriad of problems, disputes, disparities, and general whining which would be required to oversee the process? I say if someone wants to pay $450.00 for a used piece of equipment and benefit a Sharpie, hey, a fool and his money. Common sense, not more regulation.

Because life's not fair, you know this place also sometimes is not, just live with it -- save the angst and hand-wringing for fighting to keep ecigs legal instead of silly arguments like this, its such a minor piece of the whole forum and it only has to do with high-end PVs -- do these same people ..... about the resale value of Ferraris? I didn't think so -- because they can't afford it, too bad so sad, but accept reality and stop asking for handouts from sellers..........its my opinion, tibs, sorry, its just a lot of bleating from people who don't like others doing what they want and would rather impose their will on the populace and further restrict freedoms, its the same darned mentality that I find so sickening in the great nation of ours.............

Under current forum rules, can a forum member write "capitalism rocks" in a classified thread?

I understand being verified to sell, kind of. But why do you have to be verified to buy? I can't stand evilbay/payscam I don't even have a banking account, how do I get on without that? Heck I am a huge hoarder and have hundreds of things I would sell I would even let people pay after they receive the item. But I guess I'm out of luck because of the registration process.
