unfortunately my name does not have a deep meaning, or cool story. I just keep using the same one for every forum so I can remember it. It started on the Squirrel Board forum. I had a baby squirrel named Al, so I went as Al's mom. Took out the caps and such and wound up with my name. I laugh on the soap opera forums, they must think I have a crazy love for Al, not so , unless he is a squirrel;)

I have enjoyed hearing all of your stories!

My name came a string of playing mmo's.

About 7 years ago I was doing a beta test and every character name I would come up with was taken in some form or another. After about an a hour of trying names I was talking to myself and said "the next name I get I promise to use forever"
:lightbulb:

Typed in Promise and that was that. I now use it for everything, games, emails, forums, etc...

Mine originated WAY back in '94. Back then I used to write for one of the very first "blogs" on the Web (before they were called blogs.) It originated as "This is Useful, That's Cool" and evolved into "Web-Today Destinations" and it was a Web site review column. On the site there was an About page where it discussed the fact that we used "trained surf monkeys to search out the very best of the World Wide Web for your browsing enjoyment." Thus my screen name was born. I use it on every board I post to.

My avatar and forum sig are references to the greatest TV show ever made (in my opinion) Firefly, and the movie Serenity. And of course, the Chuck I had personalized with the Serenity logo for me.

It certainly deserved more than 14 poxy episodes and one movie.

That's what happens when idiot TV execs air a show so out of order that folks can't follow what's going on.

I'd love to line up every bigwig at FOX and kick them all in the junk as hard as I can. I wouldn't take it easy, either, I'd be kicking for a field goal each time.

^^ i was wondering if you started this topic Dan...
Mine's pretty simple... My name is Zoe, add a couple spaces and you get "yo it zo" say it fast "yo its zo"

I am so confused! A guy by the name of Don [aka DaBoom] started this thread.

How does a couple spaces transform "Zoe" to "yo it zo"?

Will is a VERY powerful thing, isnt it? Def not saying there are plenty of situations when one cannot overcome, but I do have a huge belief in that its all about how you handle your weaknesses...In many cases, much like ours, we were able to make a weakness a strength!;)

What a FUN thread, DonDaBoom! I always like reading your threads, always something different and fun!
:D

Thanks, Crash! With contributions like yours, this indeed is becoming a fun, fascinating read. But have you voted in the tattoo poll yet (also here in the Lounge*)?

* I do prefer this new name for this forum. "General Discussion" ... "General E-smoking Discussion" - it was so confusing! KISS (no, not the heavy makeup band)

my screen name is a mix of all the letters in my first and last name, I got saw it when I typed my name in a site that does anagrams: Internet Anagram Server / I, Rearrangement Servant : anagram, anagram, software, anagramme, anagrama, wordplay, word play, anagram creator, anagram solver, anagram finder, anagram generator, anagram maker, anagram unscrambler, anagram machine, crossw
There is a bunch but only a couple were any good, so I went with the one I liked the most... plus camels are cool so that helped decide.

That site is cool! Never thought of doing that to get a screen name

My best,
-VP

Tried my married name and was not impressed with the results. They kept coming up with "I", "Il" or "Ilk" as a third word. So I tried my maiden name with better results:

Airline Nose
Asinine Role
Alien Senior
Nosier Alien
Insane Oriel
Arise Online

I really like that last one!

My screen name stems from a business name I once had: "Vocal E". It was a Karaoke business, and I liked the pun made by the word "vocal" plus my first initial: "vocally".

When I tried to use it as a screen name on AOL, they wouldn't allow spaces, and "vocale" was already taken -- probably by some Italian person. I didn't want to add numbers to "vocale", so I added my last name initial.
