singapore post...

Thankfully my son never got into them. We were as careful as possible to try and make sure he never was exposed to them. I dont think my sanity would have made it through that.Good morning shiny folk. Nothing of import to announce this morning, but I hated the teletubbies too. My son was into them. Almost matches the "Magic Roundabout" in terms of sheer weirdness.... :

I have ss316 flat clapton .2x.8/40g wire and shooting for around .3-.4Ω single coil. 8wrap 3.5mm gets me in that neighborhood I think. Not sure if I entered the info correctly. Can someone check for me please.Nope. Not at all. Actually when I went back to work yesterday there was a package from fastech waiting for me on my desk. Figures, the one time a package arrived from China quickly I was away on vacation.@NolaMel no nightmares, just dreams of fruit dancing with flowers.
@JamesDMad so glad to hear that stent is out and you're in less pain.
@Walter_Sobchak see it didn't take long for you to get your shinyitis back on track after your vacation.
I have found that for the same resistance you get from a large gauge wire (22, for example), you get similar ramp time and much better surface area by twisting smaller gauge wires and doing whatever number of wraps it takes to get you to the target resistance. Anything thicker than 26 to me is a waste of wire unless I'm aiming for a big cloud. I want to see my vapor and taste every bit of it. If I'm not low enough with 26, then instead of upping thickness I'll drop to 28 or 30 and twist two.The 20ga. Does take a bit to ramp up. I have a single 26/32 Clapton on the DRSQ @.24 and that one rocks. Ramps up quick and hits just as good I think as the dual coils in the 24mm Rabbit. I actually want to get new single coil attys for my 22mm tubes now. I like it better. All my old RDAs are small 3 posters and i am tired of building on them.
I'm coming up with .661 but I've never calculated it using ribbon wire though.Need some help, I have yet again confused myself with wire wizard.I have ss316 flat clapton .2x.8/40g wire and shooting for around .3-.4Ω single coil. 8wrap 3.5mm gets me in that neighborhood I think. I've been playing with WW and since I'm not sure how to enter the numbers I'm getting a range of conflicting Ω. anything from .12-.39 and heat flux is also varying wildly. May have to just wing it. Wouldn't mind wrapping a parallel but not even going to attempt entering that in WW. Thinking a 4 wrap 3.5mm parallel may get me closer to my target. Unfortunately I don't know why my brain is telling me that. Frustrating.I'm coming up with .661 but I've never calculated it using ribbon wire though.
Memories! I do miss the bay... just not the cost of living there. There were a lot more people smoking there then there usually is in L.A. I found Marlboros for $9 in the Mission District and was happy lol. Everything is insanely expensive in S.F. We hept seeing apartment for rent signs and none had prices. One finally did. Jr.1bdrm. $2800/mo!
The only thing I am getting this week is wick and Clapton wire. I will add some 28 to the order and give it a try. Do you twist it about as tight as a rope would be?I have found that for the same resistance you get from a large gauge wire (22, for example), you get similar ramp time and much better surface area by twisting smaller gauge wires and doing whatever number of wraps it takes to get you to the target resistance. I got 1 of those. They hit real hard. Caught me by surprise the first time! I want more of them. These iJoy 20700 that arrived yesterday are hitting hard, I like!
The coil calculator confuses me. My big Aliens are .2 each at 5 wraps. My 26/32 Clapton is .24 with 4 wraps. Yours would probably be in the middle. I am thonking 6 wraps would put you where you want to beNeed some help, I have yet again confused myself with wire wizard.I have ss316 flat clapton .2x.8/40g wire and shooting for around .3-.4Ω single coil. 8wrap 3.5mm gets me in that neighborhood I think. Where and how much? I am gonna get a couple more.I had 5 show up in my mailbox yesterday!
I think the vendor would want to know if there's a problemMan well, Tom Cruise may come out of the closet after all. I think my new mod is broken, that or I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong with it. It had a nice handfeel and I was just getting to know the vape when it went dead. I didn't do anything with it, because it was just before night came and I was just too tired.
Maybe I locked it or did something weird, etc. I will have to play with it more. But, if it's inoperable, I'm not quite sure what to do, it was a win and etc. I've never had one not be operational (and it's newish modmaker from the looks of it). IDK if I can't get it working if I should bring it to the attention of the vendor or not. I mean, it was already sent via DHL, that's not cheap, I kind of feel like I should accept it as the luck of the draw? What would you guys do? It's kind of a neat, sort of.... Well, it's sort of like a Saab.... Does/did some things differently that were kind of interesting, but also a bit unusual and well... IDK.
