On the vape side, I emailed Myvaporstore about the Proton going belly up on Wednesday with a photo of the screen. I'm surprised I haven't heard back from them yet. They're usually pretty good about that. If I hear nothing by noon I'll have to nudge them again.

Oh man, you just got a Proton that bricked earlier this week? Thats a bummer if so, your probably one of the first issues Ive heard that anyone has had with the Protons! ]:

Oooh…. I am getting a DHL delivery TODAY, as in it's probably my xtar charger. I'm excited I have a nitecore and never looked at xtar too close because I always wanted one but couldn't justify it. LOL.

Fortunately I charge nowhere near my coffee I will also share here (since I believe at one point a shiny tenant is that confession is good for the soul) well I also ordered coffee cup with LID, because I've been using an external mouse for like a couple of years and I drop it all the time, but this time in my coffee. LOL, you know.... I need that cup with lid ASAP.

I busily explained to the husband that I just felt I needed to "keep up with technology and such and challenge myself." He stared at the $9 external mouse pretty hard, but I think I was convincing. IT WAS annoying (dropping my mouse all the time) and the actual mouse pad is getting better I am not gonna say I am enjoying it much and he did say, "Anna, even *I* hate your mousepad but okay."

The tragic thing in all this is I bet he has about 15 of them in his "One day we will be rich! (In available space not money) stash of old electronics," because he's been hoarding them for years and etc.

Of course doing that would mean a CONFESSION and ooh, they're just so painful. Not even the cost, but if you live with someone with ADHD, well, you come to hate it. I hated my kid's ADHD, the husband hates mine (compounded by fine motor tremor) heck even *I* hate my ADHD.

I mean, I could say that it just stopped working, but I mean that's an actual lie not a sin of omission, it has to be worse. Etc. Plus he would try to "fix" it.

I'm just hoping to get through the day without injury man. I have to go out.

Sigh. The mousepad is getting better, and it's nice not to drop my mouse like constantly but it's not what I'd call GREAT Maybe in a couple of days.

Anna

Still don't know what ebay was about I have ordered NOTHING that I can think of from them in like a LONG time, months. Unless I am sleep ordering now. God I hope not.

Eh. It happens. Better early than late. Every company has the occasional failure. Innokin generally less so but it'll get taken care of. More the annoyance factor. Now if I don't hear back from MVS, then Ill get cranky.

This is what happens to [old] hard drives when I get my hands on them. I don't think anyone is going to get any data off that in a hurry, the platter is now bent and that epoxy adhesive isn't coming off any time soon.

I stripped this down to re-purpose the Neodymium magnet for the magnetic stirrer.

Had my first shiny disaster tonight, discovered the Cleito RTA deck I ordered is actually for a Cleito, rather than my Cleito 120. Thought it looked a bit on the small side when I got it :(.

On the positive side, just for grins built the biggest set of 4mm dia single wire SS coils I could to fit into the Nautilus. 0.85 ohms, running at 7.98V. My poor Reuleaux runs out of puff at 95.3W. It is a really cool, cloudy vape but too juice and power hungry for regular use.

Am now down to about 3ml of commercial juice ... Roll on Festering Friday!

I just drill a 1/2" hole down through the case and platters, nobody recovers data from those. When I worked in the industry we would take our customers old drives to the local metal depot. They would cut them in half with the massive hydraulic shear. ;)

While not exactly shiny, I did just install a new SSD on my laptop. Way cheaper (OK a bit cheaper) to add and clone myself over buying it in the laptop. Once it's the boot drive the HD will be my media and large file storage drive. I prefer having two drives for just that purpose anyway.
I've run that way on my desktop for a long time, the SSD boot/program drive breathes new life into old gear. :D

Well I must have gotten a Supreme V2.1 then because I got a postless deck and I wanted a velocity deck and that is what the picture showed. No sense fretting about it I guess as FT does not care. Don't you think the velocity deck is better? Please tell...
The new velocity deck on the SV2.1 is awesome, really simple to build and wick. Mount your coils, pull wick straight through, fluff trim and lightly tuck down into the channel. The previous one they made for the it was rotated 90 degrees and you had to bend the wick down and around the side of the coil to get it in the channel.

There is a little trick we use on the Plus to get the right coil leg length for a postless deck. Pull the the JFC ring off of the base and use it to measure the legs of your coil. Place the bottom of your coil on the top edge of the JFC ring and cut the legs at the bottom. ;)

Give the postless deck a try, you could always order a replacement v-deck from Steam Crave
Aromamizer Supreme RDTA 25mm V1 and V2 2-post deck,Aromamizer Supreme V2.1
or from FT.
$8.91 DIY Authentic Steam Crave Aromamizer Supreme RDTA Replacement Deck - stainless steel / 2-post at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Do not order spare postless decks from the majors (FT, 3F) yet unless it is listed as "Plus Style". You will probably end up with the older version that is useless IMHO.

SC has the new ones available.
Plus style postless deck of Aromamizer Supreme RDTA 25mm V1 and V2,Aromamizer Supreme V2.1

Good luck with it, the SV2 is an awesome tank and so much better than the OG Supreme or OG Aromamizers.

Good morning all! Everyone affected by Florence stay safe. You can always rewick next week.

Not if the wicking material is soaked (with rain water)..........

Better off to get the heck outta there and come over here where the wicking is dry (until it's juiced) !!

BTW, bring juice.......

And a few others besides . Unfortunately, most Scottish insults get lost in translation. Mainly because people south of the Border [and elsewhere] don't understand a word we are saying as we speak so fast, never mind the actual meanings :D.
I had a huge problem understanding Todd (and although Vaping with Vic has a strong accent I understand him better), he was on the forum one day and told him I was really struggling to understand. These past videos I understood him better. I'm a native spanish speaker but I have a lot of issues with certain accents. My favorite is the mid west american english.

Wow!! I was thinking on Tony B, he lives in the path of the hurricane.

I have a ton of friends stationed in the path of the hurricane.
Unfortunately they don't have the luxury of a choice on evacuating or not.

5.56mm works a treat as well. ;)

I have a program used by the DOD that overwrites drives to make them unrecoverable, but it takes too long and my way is more fun and satisfying.

Just last week I got word that several of the J class boats stationed at Newport and nearby ports being moved up north or taken to Spain for a while. I hope everyone is safe, although as I know of today it's not that strong.
