I was curious if anyone owns a Marvec Priest BF DNA75C? I'm wondering if this is a good option instead of a Therion bf?
Been eying that one for months. Mjag has a good review here at ECF. He's pretty good at answering his threads.

Question to my fellow Canadian fasttech shoppers. I have been in search for white (clear) Pulse 80 squonk bottles which seem to be as rare in Canada as a pink panda in the artic. My searching leads me to Fasttech. Given I seriously suffer from postal anxiety, and that I have never ordered anything for personal use from China, is there anything I can expect? Duties, brokerage fees, who do they use to ship within Canada, etc. The more info the better! I am guessing it will take a few weeks so figured I’d make it worth my while and order a few other trinkets. Haven’t decided yet but another Lost Vape DNA250C may be in order which could bring the shipment to around $200 CAN. However, willing to forgo more expensive items if that means customs is more likely to turn a blind eye.

Or….if anyone knows where I could purchase (5+) white Pulse 80 squonk bottles within Canada for a reasonable price that would be preferred. Has to be white….I find the other colours retain odor and change the flavour of the juice. Thx in advance.

Oh…and one more question. Given I am a Fasttech newb, what’s up with the price differences with the same product? Not talking about authentic vs styled, but the exact same product with perhaps a different finish - even though these finishes carry the same price here in Canada.
A few things to keep in mind when ordereing from Fasttech.

1. Always upgrade your shipping, free takes up to 6 weeks to arrive. The best way to ship by mail is via ePacket, usually costs a buck or two but you should have it on your door step in less than 2 weeks. You can't send batteries, external or internal through the mail, they would also fail on any product that had a cylindrical shape but that seems to have lessed. If the option for ePacket doesn't show up in the choices for shipping then there is something not accepted in your order. DHL would be the fastest but you would pay quite a bit more as it is a courier service. If I was ordering hundreds of dollars worth of gear at a time, I'd pay the extra for DHL.

2. The product MUST be either "In Stock" or "Ships Next Day" if you throw something in your cart with a restocks in X number of days can hold up the whole shipment. There have been many times when a product was slated to restock the next day and got put on "7 Day Restocking" due to MFG problems etc... The 7 Day label is a don't bother putting it in your cart, as it will be a long time before it comes back in stock, if ever.

3. You already know that Authentic is indeed Authentic and Styled means Clone.

4. Opening a ticket to CS is a next day question/reply scenario, you ask a question and they answer the next day, you reply and they answer the next day again and so on. It can take a while doing this to get shipments split up (products went out of stock before your order was picked etc.) or if you have a defective product. I had to hound them for quite a while to get a refund for a defective O-Atty Clone that had a cross threaded positive post. They try to low ball you at the start ($2 coupon and other BS) but you need to be firm, stay courteous and in the end you will get a replacement or refund. Replacement of in stock products is usually very easy, the O-Atty was discontinued from the MFG which is why I had to play the game for a refund.

5. I have never had a package from FT inspected or charged duty etc. All of mine are usually under $100 as I don't buy mods over $100 from them, too much hassle if you get a DOA or it dies the first week etc...

Just a few things to keep in mind and you can reap the benefits of the Chinese Majors, Fasttech, 3FVape, 2FDeal, eFun.top etc... I don't mention GearBestWorst as they are prime scumbags and I wouldn't order anything from them if the were the only one who had it in stock.

Fasttech has the best inventory status/shipping up date system of them all. I try to pick from the 24hr Ship section on 3F to get products quicker. 2F and eFun are just a wait, it is what it is but eFun has some sweet clearance and sales deals like the iJoy Maxo mod for $19 etc.

I always have a FT shipment in my PO Box 8-10 days from the time I place the order.

A little coil maintenance and a juice swap. Still a great RDA. The new one has a 9mm juice well, btw. Gonna need one of those, too.

Example Links?

Most of the Styled are made by Different companies like SXK, YFTK, Ulton, Shenray, Steam Tribe etc. The Discussion pages on a product will give you a ton more info on quality/quirks than the Reviews do.

There are quality clones like SXK/Shenray/Ulton, overpriced clones with dice roll quality like YFTK and downright junk quality like Steam Tribe and other unnamed MFGs.

@TrollDragon - Thanks for the detailed reply – your efforts are much appreciated. But trying to get my head around how ePacket works – their web site is not very informative (but I haven’t put forth much effort either). So I sign up for a ePacket account, choose ePacket as a means of shipping and they handle the rest? How do they get past duty as @dom qp explained?

I’m a B&M kinda guy so don’t foresee myself shopping online out of China much. But in this particular situation I’m kinda stuck. Spoke to 3 local retailers and none will be carrying the Pulse 80 bottle which I find very strange given the Pulse X was just released. And I’ve grown frustrated searching every other online shop across Canada. Don’t find that much of a savings with FT – my Lost Vape comment above was just a tad over anxious, there is 0 savings to be had once conversion is applied, and that doesn’t count the banks/CC rates. There are a few items on FT that one can save but they have to be selective, or shop in bulk.

Below links demonstrate a cost difference – although not a great difference but a difference none the less. Found a few others that were more significant but these ones stuck in my head.

$67.39 Authentic Desire RAGE 155W TC VW APV Squonk Box Mod - 5-155W / 200-600'F / 2*18650 / built-in 7ml squonk bottle at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

ePacket is just a kind of shipping. Like how we have Xpress post among other options. What makes ePacket special is that it's a international agreement thing between different countries and their postal services. It speeds things up and it means that the tracking info they put on it is integrated with the Canada Post systems. It's more sophisticated and integrated than with, as an example, a letter with a stamp on it.

Under a certain value CBSA doesn't bother charging duty or GST. I believe it's similar to how if you visit the US you're allowed to bring back a certain amount of goods before they ask you to go in the office and pay duty on what you purchased. In our case it used to be $20 and now I think it's $100. So if it's under that value they won't bother.

I stopped ordering from China because the 3 week delivery I was getting was causing anxiety. I figure if i'm willing to spend $50 on something, I rather just pay an extra $5 and get it in store. Of course there's the problem with availability on certain things like the squonk bottles you mentioned, but i've been pretty good with moving away from Chinese mass produced goods or at least sticking to stuff that's widely available domestically.

I'm sure @TrollDragon will have better and more information. I just felt lonely and wanted to write to you.

That’s an explanation I understand. And note taken on the max $$ before duty. Thx

I’m ok with Chinese products providing they are of quality. We can fall into an availability issue with any product – especially ones that are manufactured in limited quantities. Don’t think there is a problem with availability with the Pulse 80 bottle – just a problem within Canada. Don’t understand why our local retailers do not wish to stock it. When I purchased my first Pulse 80 I also purchased extra bottles – but unknown to me at the time the colour ones seem to retain odor and flavour which makes changing flavours with the bottle undesirable. I still have 2 black bottles that have yet to be used but given my discoveries I would much rather use the clear. Just to note, I have read from a restaurant/cooking site that coloured silicone is more likely to retain odor/flavour if anyone is taking notes. Something to do with the dye that may have been used….if I find the page again I’ll link it.

No you don't have to do anything for ePacket except select it as your shipping method, everything is taken care of by FT. I've never paid duty for any Chinese orders, they only time I was ever stung for duty was from Kidney Puncher when I bought the absolute PoS CCI BFDFT... Import Duty and Canad Post's $9.99 money gouge for collecting the duty made that RTA worth way more than I was already gouged for from KP.

I have brought in well over a thousand dollars worth of product from the Chinese Majors with only 2 packages ever lost and not a cent paid out to Health Canada's lap dog, the CBSA. I don't think you have to worry too much over a few silicone bottles. Yes B&M's are the absolute best place to buy mods, reputable local business will look after you if there is ever any problem, but you will pay a few dollars more depending on the retailer.

As far as Pulse 80 squonk bottles, they are the same as the X version and Ace (Excellent Retailer) has a few limited color choice in stock, really shouldn't be too hard to find, did you have a look at Canvape?
Vandy Vape Pulse BF 80W 8ml Replacement Bottles | AceVaper

There is usually always $1 or $2 price difference for colors other than black with the Chinese sites, FT has a LOT of products and data does get entered wrong.

Always try the code MAP in your cart on FT as they have MSRP listed on some newer products because of whiny B&M owners... Like the Rage example above, the B&M folks complained to Desire about the Chinese selling below MSRP and FT was forced to raise their prices on that product. It was a better deal before those shennanigans.

I don't pay much attention to sub $2 differences, if it is really out to lunch the CS people are quickly notified in the discussion on the products page. You'll see them squawk when MAP's not working either. ;)

There are deals to be had but you have to look and wait. Most local B&M's don't carry clone RDA/RTAs so it could get a little pricey testing out new RDAs by purchasing Authentics. I'd grab a ChiNarDA in a heartbeat than even consider paying flipper prices for an Authenic.

I can't speak for other communities, but here in Kitchener we have a special scene.

The average consumer, based on what i've seen and from the B&M staff i've talked to, are middle aged people looking to get off smokes. The only thing that sells well are pod mods, and Smok stuff for the younger crowd. By and large people here are vaping for harm reduction and smoking cessation.

The people who own B&Ms and staff the better ones are hobbyists like us. They're into high end and even encourage me to order online from other retailers and not do business with them.

So for things like Chinese mass produced hobbyist stuff, like chinese mass produced squonkers or squonking RSAs, they only carry the bare minimum if anything at all. There's isn't a market, here at least, for the 'budget' hobbyist. It's a weird niche.

Onto another topic though... sitting here bored tonight. Baby doll is texting her mom while they try to figure out how they get her to fly in from the Yukon to spend Christmas with us.

While that was going on I rebuilt my B2K. @VapourFlavour take note.

This is -pulsing- at 3.2V, and they say high mass coils have long ramp up.

Yeah, you get to use the Cappy, Dee Mods and Luukos bottles now @dom qp. Nothing I like better than a $25CAD silicone squonk bottle. ;)

I got a cappy and dee mods.

I have cappy kompakt, I hate it so much.

The dee mods I love so much. Not needing to screw the top on is amazing.

Regulated box, voltage is moot... What wattage you hitting that coil at?

It's on a regulated box because I was building it for my mech. I think that was around 55-60W, so on a mech it's hitting harder than 3.2V.

OK, here's a post I've been sitting on for a few days before offering up. This is a big call out for an amazing member here.

End of last week, I got a PM (and this is why I waited to check with the member of this was OK) from @Asbestos4004 . He noted I've been toying with trying a squonk and had posted about some squonks on sale that I thought might be an easy buy in to find out if it was for me. Long story short, he offered up some squonk stuff he was no longer using and wanted to send on to me. A little back and forth and I decided to accept. He had already packed it up and got it out by 2 day priority mail to me as he was heading out of town and didn't want to miss the postman. I'll admit I felt a little funny accepting but he was sincere and I was really touched he had paid attention to my interests in an area I hadn't explored. On Saturday the box arrived with this and more.

82B4B18A-4FBF-439F-A0A8-C29B7E48EC46.jpeg

He sent me in like new condition a 67 neo, a Haku Venna, sitting on top there with a wicked coil in it, a krma, the goodie bags, 2 brand new VTC5As, and a bottle of his own DIY juice.

What can you even say about that sort of generosity? I can't tell you how much it meant to me to have someone I met on an online forum be that considerate and generous with essentially a stranger. Sure, we've had fun posting back and forth at times as we have sorta the same sense of dry humor but to send all that??

I am eternally grateful for this gift. It was sent with sincerity and received the same. If anyone ever wondered about the kind of people who make up this forum, well, this is vaping at its best.

Needless to say I haven't put it down since I got it. I've found squonking easy and delicious. I love it takes a minute or less in the morning to have a fresh wick. I can even fill the bottle 2 out of 3 times without needing a roll of paper towel. I love I can disassemble and clean up this mech squonker with zero effort. I'm sold on squonking. If not an exclusive vape, something that definitely fits in my daily vape routine.

Thank you, brother! I can't think of someone doing something so nice for me in, like, ever (OK, aside from my daughter). And for the record, your DIY Vanilla Nuts is outstanding and I will steal that recipe from you.
