Our Jay had to move, the ice on the old tree made it too dangerous to live under. He and his family are about a mile up the road. Getting a lot of overtime due to the holidays so pretty busy. You can find him on fb.

The tree is huge and old plus they get a lot of snow. New house has electric heat but poor man still wakes up to tend the stove at night.

He may never get over that, depending on how long they used wood heat... I never got up at night to check the stove so I never had that particular habit..

... but let's face it. I'm still faithfully up every day in time to have my morning coffee hour before its time to go out to tend the cattle and start chores at 4:30 am.. no alarm needed.

It's just life whether I have a farm and livestock or not.. lol.. i think this is why the saying "you cant teach an old dog new tricks" exists... lol..

One of the points in the original post was having a mech with no chip that could fail, the Luna has protections from a chip therefore isn't a pure mechanical mod. I have a Luna and really like it, but I don't think it's what @NolaMel is looking for.
