Morning shinies :)

@MikeADore - look what you've started :lol:

Regarding the colossal, I found the touch screen easy. Swipe down to unlock, tap watts to adjust them and hit fire to set. It also has soft, normal and hard settings which are changed by swiping down when unlocked. For changing to temp mode, side swipe the screen. Gonna play with the power curve feature today.

The gunmetal finish as Mike said is pure chrome, not rubberised at all.

Weight wise, it's heavier than a pico - but it actually adds to the hand feel.
I wish I could get it here, it's a dainty little mod. But unfortunately the only thing I can get is the Minikin II

So I ordered 2 Dvarw DL's (one by accident) and one of them is out of customs and scheduled for Thursday delivery... :woot: :woot:

The other is still in customs... Why they were shipped in separate packages I dunno but it's not like it matters as I don't need nor want 2 of em. The late arriving one will just be sold off after it lands...

Stalking the mail will be a must on Thursday!

Birthday coming up. Thinking of buying myself something nice.

Unfortunately everything I can find that I like is black. I really need something that will go nice with stainless RDAs.

This I covet, but it's black:

This would be perfect, but pre-orders are over and i'm guessing the non pre-order ones will sell out instantly:

Black and silver can work well together. If the black is shiny the tank shouldn't be a brushed silver though. Shiny for shiny, brushed for a matte black. I think there's an etiquette book on this stuff, like which fork for what course (easy trick to that though, vaping is far more complicated).

I saw that reviewed by Mark. I'm sure it will sell out but honestly I wasn't overwhelmed by it at all. The finish on the case just somehow doesn't look consistent with the price point.

    Morning shinies :)

Built the elevate - just used 26 gauge ss316l, a 3.0mm 6 wrap coil. Love how easy the deck was to build and wick. Loving the flavour, airflow and even the noise ;) Seems to suit me at 25 watts, but I'm still playing - and yeah I'm mtl'ing it ;)

Roadside Vapes was oos so they gave me a refund for the detonator. Great vendor that I'll use again I'm sure. Thinking that I like the mod enough to pay full price. The off/on switch is a great feature and I've gotten use to the fire button.

    Just learned about this...

Regulated 100W DotSquonk. Not sure how to feel about it since my experience with my DotSqounk has been complete garbage:

    dotSquonk 100w - DotMod
What's been the problem(s) with your dotsquonk? I'm not thrilled with dotmod and won't get another dotmod product -- however, my two dotsquonks are performing perfectly well (they do have upgraded switches).

This is a post I made on reddit:

I bought the dotsquonk and spent as much as the mod cost in extra doors. I was super hyped to get it and still use it once and a while. It looks great.

But apart from that, not great. I wouldn't recommend it. You get all the inconveniences of a mech mod without any of the benefit.

It doesn't hit any different than anything else, if anything a bit weaker. The 20700 battery is nice and can make up for it somewhat. Having the higher amperage allows for more versatility when it comes to dual coil builds especially.

The button feels mushy, and it doesn't always fire on contact. I had to break it in for months for it to be more consistent, but it occasionally doesn't let me fire.

There's no firing lock, and because the 510 is blocked off you can't use a 3d printed ring either.

It's not a real mech, there's a wire running in the frame.

You can't fully disassemble it to clean it.

The finish is great, but being anodized aluminium it;s scratch prone.

It isn't the worst thing, but it isn't great either. It mostly loses in my opinion because you're better off getting a real mech. If you're going through that trouble you might as well make it worth it. Or if you don't care about that, you can get better performance and ease of use from a regulated mod (something like a Pulse 80W/X).

Every time this topic comes up people respond saying how much they love theirs and my opinion is categorically wrong. Whatever people like is whatever people like, i'm just saying for the price point you can get better performance, quality, and ease of use.

I'd add that i've cleaned the 510. That wasn't the problem with the mushy button. It hits a bit harder but it came gunked. And it's ridiculous when compared to any mech squonker, how more finnicky it is to get to the 510. Also, how you can't completely remove it and clean it properly.

And i've also had at least 4 magnets fall out of the mod and different doors.

Dammit! Wish I’d known about that. Where do you find codes? I always try to search ECF and google but no luck.

I just Googled (or DuckDuckGoed, I should say). I had to check a few sites before I hit on one that had a number of different offers (Free and Valid Promo Codes, Coupon Codes & Discount Codes - PromosDaddy). I was surprised the code worked, since it was associated with the fourth of July, so I've learned an important lesson: try what shows up; it might work.

Doesn't sound good at all. Sorry to hear that. I'd consider sending it in (they do have lifetime warranty) and they should do the switch upgrade for free as well (no more 'wire' connector). However, I'll note that mine went from a fairly firm button (my preference) to a pretty soft button press.

I will say the original switch design was unfortunate (and the upgrade is still needlessly complex) and the 510 is a pain for cleaning (I feel similarly about cleaning my Furyan). I still do like my dotsquonks though -- mine perform well, no issues with doors or magnets after six months, no leaking, a 12ml bottle, and they feel good in my hand (it's surprising how such a small curvature across the doors and front/back takes away any boxy feel).
