@chanelvaps sorry to hear about your pup. I hope all goes well.
My daughter has a dog sitting job on the side with school. And yes, I said dog sitting, not walking. The folks hire a dedicated walker for that. Anyway she's supposed to care for the puppy, while her big brother is just a side thing. These are Rhodesian Ridgebacks, so big means big. But the older brother was a show dog so he had perfect manners at home and when walking. When the family was away she would sleep over in their apartment so the dogs were never alone.
So the beginning of this week she got a text that tank, the 8 year old big guy passed away suddenly from heart failure. She had stayed over just the week before with them, and while he was getting medications she gave him, seemed otherwise fine. I even saw them last Sunday when I went to take her out to brunch for her birthday and met the two of them. Needless to say she's upset as she semi-adopted them in her heart and now she's worried how the puppy Raven will deal with losing her big brother.
It's amazing how close you get to animals. She's like me and bonds really fast to both dogs and cats. When they're ill it's a family member that's ill and thats where your focus goes. I've paid many a high vet bill without hesitation while debating spending money on the dentist for myself. So I know what it's like and am glad you have at least some shiny heading your way. And I think a LV bag can be considered shiny too.![]()
I refuse to calculate how much I’ve spent just on the two dogs I have now. I just won’t take one on without being able to provide for him. I used to put all my change in a jar at the end of the week, and at the end of them month, I’d put it in the bank. My savings account for emergency vet care. I signed up for a new program at my vet’s last year called 360. You pay up front for their yearly shots, and you also get free emergency appointments (treatments are extra) and discounts and monthly nail trims.
Feel better!Bathrobe

Evening all,
Hope everyone is healthy, happy and wise.
Not much to report, being getting to grips with the Sbody and the Gas Mods GR1. I'll put a review of the former up on my blog when I get a chance. Seriously impressed with the GR1, flavour and airflow wise it is a much better fit to my vaping style than the Nixon S. I was beginning to think 22mm RDA's were guaranteed flavour, but now I'm not so sure.
Put in a couple of maintenance orders, just batteries, wraps, some rayon and a couple of flavours. Want to order some more flat wire but my supplier has been out of stock for over a week now.
Juice wise, I think I'm going to have to cut back on my mass production frenzies. Having 4-6 weeks supply seems about right, anything longer than that and you run the risk of stuff going rogue. Have 30ml of a New York Cheesecake and a Cannolli that is definitely becoming edgy rather than mellow. Saying that, I've discovered some great ADV's, albeit in dripping rotation. Haven't touched a commercial juice in over a month now.
Need to spend a good few hours catching up on the gossip here, been watching the Brexit fiasco too much than is probably good for anyone's sanity.
Off to cook crispy noodles with beef. I might even pretend to be healthy and throw some veg in.
You know what they say, it's better to weird out than to fade away...Juice is funny like that. Some just seem to stay stable once they’ve steeped, others fade or weird out.
thank you. My dog has allergies and I went to the third vet in 3 years for help. This one was wonderful. I mean he got down and dirty with an exam, smelled her breath, looked at her privates, skin samples, etc. I have always done what the other vets said to do, special shampoo, salmon oil with tons of EPA and DHA (?) (something else), a very expensive pill daily that costs me $80-85 a month, etc etc.Good luck with your dog.
Wow you got a whole hive of them!View attachment 806067 Vape mail! Dropped my tax stuff off, don’t know what the bottom line is until I pick them up in a couple weeks. I have never seen an atty as brightly colored as that rainbow wasp nano lol. The top is like neon green.
Gotta get some work done, then maybe play with these tonight.
what does TRVPed mean? Comp'd?Got TRVPed. Vendor sent me a message after ordering the topside dual to send another bit of money to get an M. Terk V2![]()
beautiful, sort of making me regret canceling mine. I just hate having too many atty's.View attachment 806067 Vape mail! that looks FAB, the gold kind of matches the goldish streaks in the mod. I do not like gold in my gear but I think that is great looking. This thing has a well big enough to put a dead body in it. Not that I advise that. Easy to build except I had to take the coil back out to trim so it didn’t short on the cap. Vapes nice, more air than the recurve. Bonus points for the sassy Cyberman face. Minus one matchy point for the gold base View attachment 805983
heartbreaking story. I probably would have had the dog wakened so I could cry over it for awhile. I am so attached to my animals and when I lose one I lose my mind for awhile. I worked for years in mental health and also fostered many animals. I happened to have a foster kitten that I found in the bushes in the back yard. Very young. Very sick, with upper respiratory and drippy eyes etc. I nursed him to good health and he was thriving. I was just getting ready to re-home him when he took a bad turn. Throwing up, getting skinny, we went to the emergency animal clinic like 3 times in a week, I was just writing checks left and right because once I was in I was IN. He started to need hydrating, I would drop him on my way to work, pick him up on the way back. They called me while I was at work and told me it was not any of the things they had thought but was in fact Panleukopenia (feline distemper) and he was gasping for breath. I agreed to let them put him down and then had a meltdown 5 minutes before a treatment team meeting that included the director and the psychiatrist at a clinic. Of course I sobbed through the whole meeting and end result was they sent me to "supervision" (where you go if they feel you might not be doing good because in mental health it is imperative that you do no harm) in other words they thought I was having a nervous breakdown. Even though I kept saying "I had to have a kitten euthanized" nobody understood and even said things to me like "it is just a cat, nobody acts this way over a cat."Vet bills can be a horror. I had one dog who I adored (yes I adore all of them but you know what I mean) who developed GI problems. He was only 7 and despite hefty fees for tests to my regular vet he kept losing weight and I demanded surgery to see what the hell was going on. The vet backed off that it was too complex and referred me to an animal hospital surgeon. Took him there and they agreed it was pretty obvious he needed surgery and took him in fir surgery the next morning. As I was leaving at the front desk they said they needed a deposit. Of $5,000. The week before Christmas.
So deep breath I gave them a check for it and they assured me if the bill was less of course I would get that part of the deposit back. Surgery the next day revealed a widespread tumor choking off his intestines. Removal was impossible and the response to chemo and radiation was iffy at best for the tumor type.
The surgeon was good enough to call me with this news while my pup was still under general anasthesia. I felt waking him up would be cruel so I ran over to hold his paw as he was euthanized. If he couldn't be treated I wasn't going to have him wake up and spend his last days in pain.
Anyway I stop at the front desk again and asked what the final bill was as it was clear he didn't run through all that money. The total came to around $2,800 which was a lot but I could cover it. I asked when I could get the difference back which was about $2,200 and was told they would send me a check within 10 business
days.
I paid them up front but they kept the money until then. I guess it was to be sure my check cleared (which it had the same day from my bank records) but still, you wanted it all up front on the spot, but now you take your time giving it back??
So yes, I know all too well what vet bills can be like.
And to bring a dog photo in to counterbalance the cats around here, thus us the big guy and the puppy my daughterbabydog sits. (It's NY, things are weird here too)
