Okay. Finally caught up. This is going to be very long and very disjointed. It's either that or a bunch of posts, and this seemed less (though still) annoying.
vape mail today! Aegis Solo, purple Provari 2.5, razzle-dazzle batteries for said Provari, and a dashing drip courtesy of @Fidola13 (I think it's going to go beautifully with the Pumper 18--thank you!). I opened everything after doing what was for me a lot of physical work (lopping wild raspberry canes, lugging all my grilling paraphernalia from an the outbuilding where it winters over to my deck) and mixing a tester of Bill D. Lemonade to determine whether it is true that I tragically can't taste lemon. It was a fine reward for my industry.
I have my eye on the silver matte Provari 2.5 newly listed on ebay. I don't love the purple of the one I got (too pale--kind of a drab dusty and dusky lavender), and, besides, I wouldn't mind having two. Hoping, though, that she puts up something other than gold with the Zenkote finish. I'd like that even more.
That battery I rewrapped yesterday works in the Solo, I'm happy to say (by the way, the wraps are from IMRbattery, @Heartsdelight, so I imagine they're of decent quality). I think the JAC is just continuing to be a fussy little prince. I don't mind--he's worth it.
The Solo is lighter than all the other 18650 mods in my rotation (JAC, Dani Mini, and Colossal) and also weighs less than the Kroma-A. I'm sad that the fire button is plastic and isn't angled like the one on the regular Aegis, and of course the screen is dark, but those are minor flaws. The type size of the "same coil?" question is also so tiny I needed a magnifying glass to read it, but that, too, is a piddling criticism. Overall, I'm just happy that it's so much less bulky than the Aegis and so light over all.
In other news, I learned today that dripping will never be something I do on the regular: it's too much of a pain to have to put on my glasses to do it.
I have also come up with a good reason to value this cold, wet spring: because the weather has been so consistent, I have not had my usual slew of springtime migraines.
