3' gummy snake6 hours in, and 72 to go. Can you get brain damage from watching YouTube videos about someone opening my little pony toys?
But otherwise we’re doing great. Her mom, bless her, brought a new set of a gazillion my little pony toys to occupy her. I’m wearing shoes in here for the next 10 years but we’re having fun. I sent mom a picture of her eating a 3’ gummy snake, lol.
oh well you've blown it thenI love their markings... Beautiful. I hope the other two eggs surface soon. I guess it was the super-sized one that caused all the trouble? She hasn't passed the other two eggs as of yet. I am going to let her rest over the weekend before resuming treatment. Her mate is beside himself, I've never seen anything like it. He is swimming underneath her and lifting her to the surface constantly. She's at least eating again and devoured a couple of crabs earlier.
My yellow blotched map turtles nested during all this and I haven't had a chance to put them in the incubator. This is what they look like:

I'm quite proud to be able to to say I know a well known rare turtle breeder from FloridaI wish I could. The offers I have had from people from Japan are crazy, but I'd lose my license in a heartbeat. I'm not even allowed to sell the yellow blotched maps outside of the state of Florida. Before I make a sell I have to document that the buyer is a Florida resident.
Yes you were definitely lucky... I had to sing 'postman Pat and Ihis black n white cat' on a daily basisGuessing I should be grateful I haven’t a clue about yo gabba gabba.

Baby robinBaby thrush?
Another bird where the babies are huge compared to the parents...I thinkBaby robin
If you were to move outside of Florida, would you be required to give up the yellow blotched-maps? Or would it depend on where you went?
(Thinking easy passage thoughts for your Marley. Poor girl is having a time of it.)

That's interesting...I suppose in their traditional habitat there is a pretty big chance that they could swim around for years and still not bump into a male or vice versa....that way one chance meeting results in lots of offspring thereby perpetuating the species.....or something like thatIt's hard to say, I've seen larger eggs out of some of my other females. It is Marley's first year breeding and the first clutch is usually not viable. If I had a choice I would not breed her again, but at this point I don't. Once they are bred they can retain sperm for up to 10 years. This means she doesn't even need a male around next year.

Do you think that she will always be problematic based on this clutch or is it her behaviour or something? I'm hoping that the other 2 come out and come out viable too...fingers crossed.
A little GMO and there will be little need for men, just a some breeding stock. I suddenly want to pull my head into a shell.Once they are bred they can retain sperm for up to 10 years. This means she doesn't even need a male around next year.
