Good morning shiners! My daughter is doing well. She had an endoscopy done yesterday and while there was some inflammation as the source of bleeding, nothing bad in her stomach. Her blood counts remained stable so no need for a transfusion, and with lots of meds and hydration was finally able to keep liquids and soft food down. So all in all it looks like she'll be fine and out to home this morning. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers because it seemed to work and she's on the mend.

Me on the other hand is a freaking train wreck. About the only thing that doesn't hurt right now are my toenails. I have some significant arthritis in my neck along with spinal stenosis in there as well. No, I refuse surgery until thee's no other option as, well, it's my neck and spinal cord, so please don't make a mistake during surgery. An oops would be a really bad thing. I'd rather deal with the pain. So I need two pots of coffee, a handful of pain pills, and a pack of cigarettes. OK, not the last, but it feels like that. I'm just chain vaping instead, something that's a real pain in hospitals these days. Tough to be stealthy AND chain vape.

Other than that I'm forced to entertain myself by following a tracking number of my return for that coil exchange with MFS. It's weird watching a tracking history running in reverse. Almost like Groundhog Day.

@AngeNZ - I'm so sorry.. and so glad you got that time with your dad.

You can write to me anytime if you'd like to talk.

@Eskie - are you still at the hospital or have they released your daughter?

If your still at the hospital ask them for a cot in your daughters room so you can lay down if you need to..

They did this for me whenever my daughter was in the hospital, and it was very nice..

You can get blocks for pain.. you need to do that if it's really bugging you..

@Eskie have you heard of Moringa? Its the most nutritious plant on earth. Best natural anti inflammatory there is. It kicked my arthritis in the .... within 2 weeks.

Glad to hear nothing more serious about your daughter. Hope you’re feeling better soon, too. Between the stress and the meat locker temperature of hospitals, it’s enough to make you feel like you’ve been ride hard and put away wet.

I was advised to have spinal surgery almost 20 years ago, and declined. ACDF sounds way too barbaric to me. And whaddaya know, I can still turn my head and use my arms so I guess I made the right call.

I got an update on one of my FT orders, a RDA, should be here Monday, and it looks like the Biip has made it to the states too, but no ETA on that yet.

No, never did. Something I can look up and see about. Thanks for the tip!

I'm so sorry @AngeNZ . Happiness about your daughter, @Eskie.

I sent an inquiry about my busted on arrival to the wrong vendor. A bit embarrassing, but they had similar names.:lol::lol:

Maybe I can get it right this weekend.

My stabwood thing and dotmod thing await my signature at the post office. Hopefully I can go at lunch.

I did try to catch up on the thread, I don't need any more shiny ideas.

No yoga this AM I am freaking EXHAUSTED. Stupid evil doc did something so horrible and awful yesterday and it just ruined my afternoon. I mean…. I'm glad it happened BEFORE our "joint" meeting and not afterward. But less than two weeks of "good behavior" after a severe scolding by one's supervisor? That's not good.

It's exhausting. Witnessing it. Deciding what to do. Doing it. Writing 15 emails until you get to one that doesn't sound passive aggressive. At this point I was like, "Enough play nice. I need a paper trail."

But yeah, it was just tragic. I really hate to reward this behavior with an "I don't want to work with you." But at this point, I SO don't. He is a nightmare waiting to happen. The stubborn me says, "F it, keep going" but I know I probably shouldn't.

My boss gets it, she emailed me to NOT see any of his clients at all today and the meeting is on Monday. Etc. His boss does not get it, Her email, "I'm so sorry. I will reach out to him tomorrow."

You don't 'reach out" to a psychopath. It only invites worse.

Maybe we can get to the point in the meeting where it is like, "more therapy, less Dr. Doom" and then I can legitimately cause chaos if I say it deadpan enough "Dr. Doom sees half the patients in the clinic per his assessment so he should compensate me for my lost productivity if he hates IBH so much."

If I say it just the right TONE, he might lose it in the meeting.

Better late than never ;)

OK before I start - I don't need any sadness or sympathy in shiny land. Yoiu guys are my distraction and my anchor  - so please - shiny thread as per normal, regardless of what you read below.

I know what you guys will be thinking, as it's exactly what I'd be thinking if one of you went through this  - pm me if you want, but let's keep shiny thread normal - well as normal as it can be ;)
I lost my 68 yo Dad last night and instead gained a new guardian angel

He was diagnosed with prostate cancer 7 years ago. This became a terminal condition 5 years ago, when it metastasized to his bones. Ever since then, Dad and Mum have lived each day like it's his last. He has been relatively fit and active up until the past few months - when the pain was worse. He actually has bone tumors from head to toe - the most impressive bone scan the technicion has ever seen ;)

On Monday (Sunday for you guys) morning, when Mum woke up, Dad was semi conscious. We called an ambulance and in hospital a MRI showed 3 big tumors in his brain. We knew then we were down to days left with Dad. He was semiconscious for two nights in hospital.

During this time - we got a few miracles. Each time he saw or heard us, he would smile. It was so precious

We took him home for his last few days on Wednesday(Tuesday) We then all had an extremely precious family time with Dad. I nursed him from 2am til 8am Thursday morning, and loved every minute - it was just me and my Dad, he was comfortable on medication - and he had me to fuss over him ;)

He was ready to go last night. Mum had sat with him, and told him it was time. He passed on so peacefully, with Mum, my sister, and his sisters there with him.

I'm actually doing OK - for now ;) I have been vaping my head off, no thoughts of smoking (Dad would kick my .... if I did ;))

I love you guys, thank you for being here
I am so sorry to read that your dad passed away, but glad you were able to spend time with him- my prayers and sympathies to you and your family .

Anyone here have the Recurve dual? I have a few of the single coils, love them. Thinking about the dual because I can get an ultem cap for it to match my Drone. I tried searching the RDA forum, I’m sure there’s some mention but I couldn’t find it.
That rda has piqued my interest, but I haven't had a chance to watch reviews or look into it yet.

I’m so sad for the loss of your dad. My dad went thru the EXACT same experience w prostate cancer eventually metastasized to bones and brain. I’m glad you were able to spend time with him.
