Hello shiny fans, hope you're all having a great day. :)

For some strange reason Muppet has been messing with Temperature Control. Perhaps it's reading too many of Bronze's comments in the kayfun threads or maybe it was Eskie talking about changing habits over time. It's really strange because Muppet has always been a strict Wattage addict and used to hate faffing around with other stuff. So this all started with the Project X and rapidly I swapped three other tanks over to Stainless Steel 316 builds. Why I never wanted to do this before I have no idea. But I'm happy! :D

:) glad you liked a bit of a look into the complex life I once had.
I grew up in the Rocky Mountains (my 'stomping grounds' was centered around Yellowstone NP and Grand Teton NP in 4 states... W MT, W WY, E ID, N UT). And I spent most of my active life in the outdoors (the natural world and the things that live in it was my thing). So I spent as much time as I could in the wilderness as a very serious amateur in several fields doing field work studying the life histories of many of the things that live in the wild places of the world. The knowledge gained goes a long way in helping to protect, preserve and save the natural resources and native habitats, and in getting people on board to establish nature preserves. Among those many fields, I was a very serious amateur Lepidopterist the longest (for something over 50 years). During that time I studied hundreds of species from six of the seven continents.

so what about this darn bark beetle that is destroying so many Ca forests. Where did it come from and are they destroying it before it destroys our forests?

I have a bunch of nieces who are just as you describe. Drives me to distraction! Don't know where they get it from either - their parents are REALLY hard workers. Your daughter sounds like a gem!
I think it is the generation because my grandson has it. Has his own first place, shared with roommates. I have been there several times to help (bring bed, bring curtains etc) and each time I take him to lunch. I used to live in the area so I am pointing out places he can apply for work. He will be 19 in August. He basically ignored me each time while staring into his phone. Of course the call that I am half expecting (but hoping will not come) comes and he wants me to pay his rent because "I need help"
Yes you do need help I had to say. "You are at the beginning of your lessons in hustling to pay your way in life." Of course I said a lot more but it all amounted to "you knew this day would come and you slept until noon every day." Broke my heart and it still hurts. To have to tell those we love NO because it is for their own good hurts

Yes I know that the lower voltage is the issue but yes I guess that putting them in series somewhat compensates for this in all intents and purposes.

My 26650's came from fogstar and I bought some AWT's from China a while ago too. I can probably help you out with a mod as I have this one coming.....

$64.26 Authentic SBody Legend II DNA75 75W VW TC APV Box Mod - 1-75W / 200-600'F / 1*18650/26650 / zinc alloy + resin at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

And yes you're right 26650 mods are hard to come by. I'm not sure whether this one could be modded to accept the extra battery length...what are your Life Po4's in length by the way?
The max accepted on the mod as is is 65mm and I suspect you're going to have at least a 3-5mm extra on yours. This one is a very good price for a DNA 75 and maybe a good buy for modding :)
That SBody looks very nice, but I'm looking for a mech squonker to modify to take the much fatter battery. As for length, I don't have calipers, but they are xx650's and exactly the same length as my Samsung 30Q 18650s (mark I eyeball measurement) so I don't see any issues there.

I'm thinking something like the following could serve as a basic platform to modify (extend the contacts, trim some plastic, and make a new cover that slides up from the bottom):

$8.82 Boxer Styled 18650 Mechanical Squonk Box Mod - 1*18650 / built-in 8ml squonk bottle at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

(but probably simpler overall to just order some 510 squonk parts and build a simple wooden box mod)

Yep...thoroughly agree and it drives me up the wall too....the kids today seem to think that everything will and should arrive on a plate without any input from them.....

We all have a desire to help our kids but giving them everything so that they don't know how to look after themselves is actually doing them a disservice....End of slight rant

I'm exactly the same but since getting my first DNA mod....I now have several....I tried TC and found it to be very likeable. Once you've got the top end temperature right you do get a lovely smooth vape. If it's already dialed in for flavour changing to TC means the flavour high point exists for longer in the puff....if that makes sense :D

like to know the recipe you will try.thinking my Bavarian s h i t z with vanilla bean might work, but i have know idea what your BC taste like.
VVIC is a little more vanilla extract than I’d think would work. But I have a French vanilla cream I would try. Your mix is what got me thinking about trying it, and I wrote down what flavors you used, but I’ll be dipped if I can find where.

Yes it is a nice mod although my first package with it inside is currently being returned to fasttech and the replacement ids OOS until eta 7days so fingers crossed it sticks to that.

Wow, that mechanical squonk is super cheap...can't really go wrong with that...and even if you do who cares :) I assume you've got links to various modders supplies? I've got a UK one somewhere that does a large range of empty boxes.

Concerning your batteries I was assuming they were like the protected ones (which are longer) but i'm probably wrong there.

I've had plenty of DNA devices in the past but still only used them in Wattage. And I do get what you mean about the flavour lasting for longer. But I find most of all I am not chain vaping as much for some reason and it seems simpler to work out the type of vape I want based on heat. It really only started because the Project X has this annoying orange line marked on the PEI tank which makes you think you have juice left in the tank when you don't. At least with TC I'm not going to get a vape that tastes of red hot dried out cotton. :D

It's a disgrace that she can't get coverage (even through the marketplace? I'm surprised) and is saddled with debts for years if not decades. And a congenital defect is something that can't be ignored, so she needs the ongoing care. There's no reason she should slip through the cracks and not have an affordable way to manage her health.

I'm not complaining about my daughter's expenses. I'm fortunate that I can deal with whatever she needs, which is better than the position many other people are in. I made sure she had no student loans so nothing to burden her with, and see to it she gets whatever health care she needs.

I'm also grateful she doesn't take any of it for granted. She's still in grad school and works 2 to 3 jobs depending how much time she can make to do it. I see friends with kids that simply take it for granted they can still live at home and pass on jobs because it's "not what they went to school to do".

I was covered under my husband’s insurance until he died, and I was able to get Cobra through his employer for a year after that. And then, I was able to get the same insurance through Market Place, but I did not have any income to get it for my daughter at the time. (I was living on his life insurance and selling stuff to get by).

And then the company sent me a letter stating that since they no longer were obligated to cover me due to pre existing conditions, I could go fish.

I hate to say this, but my husband’s union stepped in and fought for me to get Medicare.

So the stupid thing about all this is I, who can and would pay for my own insurance that would actually pay the doctors and facilities in my area, now have insurance paid by the very people who complained about ACA, which costs more than mine did and covers not one thing in my area.

That's terrible...I know a little bit about the system there and it certainly seems very unfair. Over here in France we get so much paid by the government and then we all have top up insurance to pay the rest...it's a very good system and what's more there is a law which prevents the insurance companies from refusing you cover if you have pre-existing conditions.

Of course in the UK it's all free unless you want to go private.

I tell you the more I learn about things in other countries the more I realise what a brilliant country France is :)

Hope your SBody delay resolves soon. I can always look at more modder supplies, pass on the link if you find it. Cheers!

To counter the bark beetles and ash borers, they should turn all state and national park trees into stab wood trees. :D

I can't understand how a marketplace insurance policy could deny you for preexisting conditions when it was designed precisely to avoid that.

But yes, it's hard to understand how we can be good with more expensive options than to just do it right in the first place. I'm glad you were able to get Medicare so you have that help, but even that's not so hot without supplements to cover the deductibles, copays, and of course the crazy way medications are covered under part D.

What's sad is that folks don't want to accept that medical care is not a normal supply and demand economy. The longer we keep ignoring this very basic principle the higher the costs will grow and the harder it will be, until just about everyone can't afford to access care when they need it.

I'll get off my soapbox now.

No god forbid, especially as you gave the tip to everyone. That's why I had to get 2 it cost me just 62 euros for the 2...amazing price
