morning all.
any luna owners recommend decent spare bottles for it?
...
I've got a coilmaster gremlin bf bottle in mine that seems to be working fine for several days now (filling with a geekvape flask refill bottle, not removing to fill). I'm using it because the supplied bottles that came with my Luna had a noticeable plastic/offgas odor that came back even after washing. I've got gremlins in a couple other mods with no issues for several months.

On sale now for 4.99 (and free shipping) from coilmaster:

Reos Mods was the first successful mech squonk mods that had a huge following on this forum and worldwide until the ReoMeister Robert O'Neil closed it's doors and the forum here 3+ years ago. It was a very small operation in the mountains of rural Maine operated by one of the nicest men in the business yet he produced 1000's of Reos. A simple man that kept the Reos simple as well, they are workhorses that can last a lifetime with very little maintenance. And they are easy to work on yourself if the need should arise. A lot of Reos have been customized by their owners, some of them into true works of art. Over the years there were several versatile models for 14500, 18350, 18490 and 18650 batteries that were machined from billet aluminum and brass to wood creations. He also dabbled in variable voltage Reos in the early years, both metal and wood. My "collection" includes examples of most of them dating back to February 2011. IMO his last models were the best of the best, the P67's and 2015 Woodvil's. I also have a couple of custom Reos. Reosmods was eventually sold, but the new owner is not active here, uses other social media. Since I only use mesh gear now days, my 5 P67's all run Wotofo Profile Mesh rda's now and are the only Reos in daily service. But my 4 2015 Woodvil's could also run them in a pinch.

P67's, 2015 Woodvil's and other examples...

A couple of owner customized Reos (Capt Steve), and 3 pictures of a custom Reo a bunch of us paid to have made for Robert himself. The work was done in South Africa, was arranged and overseen by Rob Fisher (who also has some custom engraved Reos).

@Spydro that's a fantastic history about an iconic modder who I did not know much about until now.

I was considering getting one but somehow it's not the same now knowing the original driving force has retired from the game. There's definitely stuff about the vaping scene I missed that was obviously a truly innovative and exciting time which is a shame. I was a confirmed death sticks user until late 2013 :)

I chat to Rob Fisher from time to time on here and thank you goodness not all the old crowd have gone completely. I recently saw Rob on a video of the vape gathering at Stuttgart and told him I felt like I knew him because we had chatted on here. I'm sure that a lot of friends were made and businesses forged on here back in the day. Actually I have seen people complain that it's not the same here anymore as all the good people have gone

Well yourself and Rob are still here so I beg to differ

Some of those REOs look absolutely stunning and it's a good thing that some of you have great collections of them....heey maybe there will be a mod museum in days to come... That would be quite something to behold.

All the best
Charlie.

thanks...gremlin was one of the ones that i couldn't, quite, remember. i can see a few sites doing them in the UK.

got to work and found my PC had decided to go belly up (i leave it on running boinc for various causes). it was no longer seeing the SSD (which i fitted myself to replace the standard drive...along with an extra 8GB of RAM). monday morning doesn't need this.
after a fair amount of swearing and crawling around on the floor (and hitting noggin off desk) we have drive on.

P..S Just did another order at FT - frickin rabbit hole rope needs to be longer already ;)

I was restrained - just ordered some spare squonk bottles, a cap for the hussar and some Ni80 wire. Didn't like the thought of making a 9 or 10 wrap 28ga ss316l coil to get to my preferred wattage range on an unregulated - but ni80 should do it with 6 or 7 wraps :thumb:
Know how you feel...sometimes I wonder if i'm just ordering so as not to interrupt the flow of my vape mail :D

I wasn't being a kanthal racist ;)

Fave coil is 28ga 2.5mm id 6 wraps. With ss316l it comes out at 0.5ohm which would hit at 35 watts on an unregulated

I want a 0.9 ohm coil - hitting around 18 watts.

Kanthal 28g 2.5mm id @ 0.9 ohm is only 4 or 5 wraps. Whereas with ni80 it is 6 or 7 wraps ;)
Yep absolutley Ni80 is the only wire that you can reasonably make some high ish ohm fused clapton coils with...and I find the taste nice and crisps too :)

Shame it can't be used for TC!!

I dont know whether to be proud or ashamed...
Stopped at a local shop to check out what they had and grab a beer(yes they have beer taps at this b&m)
Anyway gentleman there was using the geekvape squonker, he told me I should check it out.

Lol

I proceeded to show him my topside and some pics of my ant squonker etc....

I think he was a little dumbfounded and had no idea about the squonk hole we discuss here regularly.

So should I be proud I opened his eyes or ashamed I have nearly 30 squonks....

Kinda made me think some are being neglected and I may consider unloading some.

My husband's cousin had recently taken up vaping and was over one night after work, and we got to talking and I mentioned some mod and he didn't have a clue what I was talking about..

So I went under the bed and pulled out the under the bed vapocalypse box and dragged it out in order to physically show him what i was talking about, and he was immediately amazed at the box of shiny things..

He didn't know there were people in this world who had entire boxes and totes full of vape gear.. (and I'm quite a mild case really...)

So he left that night with a new mod, and all he needed to go with it and began showing it off at work telling all and sundry that my house is stocked better than the vape shop in town.. haha

I think maybe we need help.. lol..

No doubt the massive customer base of "Reonauts" faded away when the forum closed. A few stopped back in when the new owner reopened the forum. But with no support there from the owner few hung around for very long. Folks had moved on to other things with it down for a year and a half plus. A check looking for some of the most active there in the old days I did around 20-22 months ago showed that most of them do not even run ECF anymore. No idea if elsewhere, have stopped vaping, or what? But there are still a couple of three of the old timers that occasionally pop in on the Reo Forum. That is a far cry from the many dozens of posts it got daily back in its day... the forum has become a morgue that continues to die a slow death.

When the ReoMeister shut down the Reo forum here on ECF I left ECF and ran the South African forum for around a year and a half where RF hangs his hat. Some good people there back then, and I took a very active part in it. While I was there RF and I talked multiple times just about daily between on the forum and via private messaging, and on the phone once. When I moved on and came back to ECF I left that forum and the folks there behind though.

Most of the mod manufactures I bought my higher end gear from have closed their doors and moved on. I had close contact with the owners themselves or key people at most of them, but they too are mostly all gone now. So ECF is a mere shadow of what it once was as far as for what my usage of it was (I mostly ran on the manufacturers forums). After having participated at on-line sites almost daily for around 32 years I am somewhat burned out on chit-chat. So I don't post as much as I did when I ran those MFG forums where I was more into the technical and historical aspects of them.

Best,
Spy

Hi Spy

Well I for one get a lot of pleasure listening to stories about the trends that existed in vape of old. It was only quite recently that I realised that squonking wasn't a new thing and the current comeback was just that a comeback.

I'm now thoroughly squonk addicted. I have both regulated and mech which I use on a daily basis alonf with my other vapes. Today I have a LV drone, Hcigar VT inbox, 2 pods that I have just reviewed and of course my much loved Billet box....

We are spoilt for choice these days and I personally find that variety works for me as a very positive thing.

I've sort of got it into my head that I will meet @Robfisher at one of the Stuttgart vaping expositions as he was there this year and often goes I think. No need for the older crowd to fall by the wayside anyway....absolutely not....jeez i'm 53 myself

Always good to chat.

Cheers.
Charlie.

might have to get a new single coil RDA for it. got 3 currently but none have rocked my ramshackle boat. would like a flush squonk pin to try and get as much drawn back into the bottle as possible.
suitably gloomy commute.

I looked a little but not being sure what would work, I just got my spare bottles from AsMODus during a sale.

For a single coil, I love the Recurve and the Bunker. I think the .Blank is right up there with them too. But harder to find a good price on that. With the Recurve you can use map on fasttech. I’d have to look, but I think the bunker works with the code as well.

I’m telling you, I buy stuff from everywhere all the time, I can’t keep track of it, lol

Some of us septuagenarians are getting near the end of our trail and have very little to say about falling by the wayside.
