So let's say I were to buy a jig.

Who's willing to point me to wire spools?
I prefer fused Clapton's but admit I know little.

Don't have time to twist and get drills out. Just a good quality cheapish spool of acceptable wire.

Pro Tips?
I am really pleased with the wire I got from AVS and I've always heard good things about their clapton wire.

Well I've bought some premade and have been happy with it. Will look there.

Back when I use to mess with cols I got my wire from these guys always good quality and its never substandard hope you got what its supposed to be made in China wire. They have lengths of premade Clapton wire you can make your own coils with

Avs fan here. Jay you really don't need a jig. I only use the rods from mine now. Good set of small screwdrivers will serve you better imo.
and he can pick up screwdrivers anywhere. none of that pesky Post Office stuff

That's the set I have. The only thing I don't like is the cap traps the rod. I like the jigs that have no cap or has a magnet to anchor the rod. My springier coils don't get misshapen with those. I just don't thread the wire anymore.
I gave the one I had to a friend once I started ueseing this screwdriver set the gig just collected dust

looks like i'm different, really like coil master for micro coils. just have to learn tension and can close eyes when wrapping.i also just use round and happy as pig in mud.
I haven't talked myself into fooling with tension. Not a fan of smaller diameter coils or single wire builds.
