If a leg were loose, wouldn't the reading on the ohm reader be wonky, too?
It sounds like you moved the coil while wicking it and it is probably touching the chimney and shorting. I do that. A lot.

ETA: Or, maybe the end of one of the legs is touching metal.

I always reassemble on the ohmmeter/521 tab I use and check the resistance before ever moving onto the mod. That gives me a last chance to make sure the coil is not touching the cap and shorting, which is what it sounds like. I even fire it on the 521 tab to make sure all works assembled before transferring. Even for my regulated mods. Definitely for a mech.

So maybe the chimney is touching the coil?
@Zazie ... kayfun lite 2019 info that may help you ...

Is your coil too low and touching the center block?
Or is it touching either of the side blocks where you screw your coil down?

How high is your coil in the KFL19? Yours could be coming in contact with the chimney if too high.
I set my coil at 1.5-2mm above the air hole in the center.

Make sure your coil legs are snipped as close to the deck as you can get. Take your finger and run it around there. If you still feel the coil legs take a screwdriver and tuck/wrap them around the screw so you do not feel any of the legs poking out.

Our Qorax has the best videos for the nKFL.

This one is specifically for coiling and wicking.

Whatcha get?
I bought a Shogun RDA to go with my Turtleship mech (from VapeNW) and some parts for the Kayfun lite 2019's. I grabbed a couple KFL19's from Roadside with their 20% off code.

What did you end up with? A Tripod? Creek? Another KFL19? Spill the beans young Lady. :D

ETA: Let me know on your KFL19 and if you get going.

Took the atty off the mod and put it back on the ohm reader: 0.03 ohm. Unscrewed the base from the tank and returned it to the ohm reader: 1.25 ohms.
Just "reread" your post. It is one of two things. Either your coil is too high and touching the chimney. Or one or both legs are not trimmed short enough and touching the chimney sides.

I’ve lost track of what all I bought. Batteries, wire, mods, atties...
Glad I'm not the only one.
It's all organized in folders on the 'puter for each purchase but I couldn't rattle it off from memory.

I got a Tripod and another a Kayfun.

The conclusion of my drama: I checked for loose legs and stray bits of wire. Didn't find anything: legs trimmed flush, screws tight, and coil stable. Grimm Green said it wasn't necessary to install the air flow control, so I hadn't bothered with it, but I stuck it in just to see if for some reason that would make a difference. Put the reassembled atty back on the ohm reader: no reading at all. Stuck it on the Colossal: reading 1.27 ohms and vaping fine. I thought maybe the tab had been damaged somehow, but it read another atty, which I knew had a .5 ohm coil, with no problem. I think the plastic air flow insert in the Kayfun insert interferes with the connection somehow, which is stupid and annoying.

At least it's working and the vape is lovely (good thing: I bought five more of them without even trying the one I had). But I am worn out. I had already struggled building the Project X (I found the sunken deck difficult to work with) so I went into the job tense and tired. Wrapping the coil, installing it, and wicking went extremely well, however, so I was pretty happy. Then that error message showed up. Much swearing ensued. All's well that ends well and all that, but I am now ready to take a nice hot bubble bath to calm down.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. It helped. See you after I soak a while.

Thanks!

I didn’t go up to see Mom yesterday as everyone else was going. Her IV blew, and they were waiting for a doctor to come install a PICC line for her antibiotics. I was told that was done and it went okay.

I was going to go up today, didn’t sleep well last night and only woke up about 9 am, and Georgia has been sick all day. I’ll see if she feels better, and maybe then I’ll go up.

It’s just been really stressful. The drive over wouldn’t be horrible except the highway is down to one lane. Which even that I could cope with, but getting off those ramps merging into one lane when I can’t really see around the barrels is terrifying for me. I hope we can move her closer soon. I’m almost out of Xanax.
I hope your mom feels better soon & move closer to you soon! I hate driving especially in those conditions & I hope Georgia feels better too!

I found a Blue Recurve rda at Breazy.com Wotofo ReCurve RDA - Wotofo I Vape Rebuildables I Breazy.com

I'm happy you managed to get your KFL19 going. As long as the nylon AF insert is inside the 510 you're fine (not protruding from the bottom). I have mine installed about 0.5mm inside the 510 but I may run it without it altogether as Q and a few others do.

Did you get your Project X going? Let me know if you need help.

You finally got a Tripod. Cool. I think you'll really like it.

I hope you have an awesome bubble bath and relax!!! :D

So the Luna has landed and she's a beauty for sure

I love the feel of wood so i'm not going to gloss her up. Will just rub some linseed oil on her. I'm a minimalist...what can I say. Got two complaints though. She's a bit on the big side. My Luxotic Surface is way smaller, and lies much better in the hand. Other problem is the bottle

That's the deepest I can insert it. Haven't fussed with it yet as i'm working. Will have a look tonight what the problem is....
