I've finally built my first dual coil RDA, yay!

Received my Steam Crave Glaz V1.1 RDSA's last week and did a bit of work on steam-engine.org to work out some simple spaced SS316L coils, came up with 12 wraps of 0.40mm wire.

This gave me approx 0.47 ohms with the 2 coils, having to use 60 watts though to heat the coil mass. But due to the airflow on the Glaz V1.1, high mass coils are no issue.

Coils should be placed as close to the edge of the build deck though, so that they are as close as possible to the chamber reducer but not touching. This gets the best airflow over the coils.

Flavour and vapour production are excellent, Steam Crave could have provided information on how to build though. As I had to guess at the length of the tails, tried 1cm away from the build deck and it works well.

I'll upload some pictures later, have a kind of funny one where it's on my Drone. It makes it look really small.

And on a side note, it's an RDA that can easily make you get a nic buzz to nic sick with low Nicotine levels. Certainly gave me a fair buzz at 3mg/ml.

I don’t know... I think it looks loved. That said, I use Barkeeper’s on all my stainless stuff. But I also believe if god wanted all our stuff polished he’d have made us wealthy enough to afford ‘help’ to polish it.

And morning all!

No idea what’s in store today. My out of town brothers arrive today. We’re going to pack up Mom’s apartment this weekend.
Yes i'm in two minds...I know I can make it sparkle....the question is when? I've got 6 mods to do so this will be the seventh and my time is limited...we'll see.

Great that you've got all the family around you. It's the sort of thing that doesn't happen that often....could be better circumstances I know but i'm sure you'll all enjoy the get together

@charlie1465, it's the Rick as battle scarred Solenya that is definitely on the would like list.

Gerkhin Rock ODB Wraps (Pack of 4) - ODB Wraps

Also, they have Pickle in stock as well.

And could I inquire in the quality of the product? As I've only used cheap and cheerful wraps before and I wonder whether their worth the investment.
Yes sure...mine came from Fogstar uk and it's the first time i've used them....hang on i'll get into the packet :)

Well they look sleek but they're pretty thin tbh. I recently got hold of a load of Albert's trvpped wraps and they are really thick and indestructible

They seem to be a must have as you see them everywhere...particularly the gherkin so up to you I guess. I'm not unhappy with mine as i'm traditionally quite kind to my batts but they would take far less knocking around than the BB vapes ones...hope that helps :)

Good morning shiners! Just consumables today and batteries tomorrow, so not totally excited.

Me? I'd leave it. Has that nice lived in look. You can always polish it later.

Nice mod! Where did you find that?
Thanks Eskie....the bully just appeared in one of my searches on 3fvape....hang on...

Buy Kindbright Bully Style Black Copper Mechanical Box Mod

Did a bit of research and it seems to be a clone of a mod made by Wild Bull Productions based in the Philippines.....here's a youtube vid...

First impressions are very well made, stunner of a mod so kindbright have put some work into this. It wasn't dirt cheap and you can see why.

Doing atty upkeep in advance of the weekend, and found this in the Recurve dual box, a tiny coily tool! I love goofy little extras like that. Reminds of getting toys in the Cracker Jacks.

Not as practical as the Topside box that doubles as an atty stand, but appreciated nonetheless.

Nice looking mod. If it was a series mod I'd be interested in getting one myself.

I got some first ever shinys today and I had to post a pic up here because I know you guys n’ gals will be able to appreciate them. Nobody in my day to day “gets it”. Special thanks to CosmicGopher for leading me to vapenw.com, I feel like I got a steal with these. In person they are absolutely gorgeous. This Cartel is solid.

I didn’t get them to intentionally pair up but the Conquerer looks aight on top of there, shame it didn’t come in brass. It may hold that spot until I find a nice brass rda to keep on there. (recommendations are welcome)

Duude, I’m so happy I had to show you guys. It’s weird to be this jazzed about a mod I’ll never actually use but it’ll look beautiful on the shelf and if decent chip mods do disappear I’ll forever have the option to go mechanical.:thumb:

The thickness of the tube is ridiculous.

Funny to see that. It's a nice mod. It's funny because I have one of those and it was the first mech mod I had. I have it put away now but it still works perfectly of course. It can be a PITA to get adjusted properly but once you do it a couple time it's a piece of cake. Congrats.

Nice man, how did you like using it? Did you have the brass or another material? I saw a video where they tested the voltage drop and it and the copper version were equal at .9, which I don’t know right off hand is good or bad. It seems like a lot but thinking back to people talking about mech mods seems “appropriate” I guess I would say.

I read someone recommending “the spring upgrade” but can’t find any listings for it, so maybe it’s not around anymore. Two other things on my mind are, I hear people talk about magnet upgrades for the switch and then upgrading the 510, which I believe is silver coated brass.

From using yours what are your thoughts on all that? The magnets I think I would switch just for personal preference instead of any performance issues, if it’s even possible. What rda did you use with it while you had it in rotation?

Stunning mech and really nice to have all the battery options.

As far as RDA's go... the Kennedy is made in brass and would look superb... With RTA's not sure.

Happy vaping

I don't know what the voltage drop is. It's a nice mod that works well though.

I'm not sure but I don't think there is a magnet conversion for it. I think the spring upgrade was a silver spring. I did neither on mine.

From using yours what are your thoughts on all that? The magnets I think I would switch just for personal preference instead of any performance issues, if it’s even possible. What rda did you use with it while you had it in rotation?
I personally don't care for magnetic switches even though I have a few mods I really like with them. I like the feel of spring switches much better. I used a few different attys when I was using that mod but mostly a Stillaire or a Plume Veil. (Yes it's been awhile.)

That mod is made more for 22mm attys. A Kennedy will still work though.

If there's overhang it wont be much good unless you can get a beauty ring for it... Oh well back to the drawing board. I can't think of a 22mm atty in brass off hand :)

If it wasn't such a PITA to dig mine out I'd put a couple 24mm/ 25mm RDAs on it to check including a Kennedy 25.

Charlie if you see in the first picture the top and bottom cap are on the shortest tube. You can see that the top bevels down to 22mm.

    Morning shinies

Had a rewicking marathon already this morning - Luna helped by flinging my coil brush around the room (old toothbrush). She's gonna love the 5 piece set I've got coming from FT ;)
Your going to love that 5 piece set of cleaning brushes, they really do a great job on coils and airflow holes.

Hold on a second! Did you say you’re not going to use that thing?

Is anyone taking bets on this? I’d put $5 on ‘uses it by next weekend ‘.
